Abrams Creek Retreat & Campground

166 Abrams Creek Dr, Elk Garden, WV 26717, USA

3.0
Abrams Creek is a rustic campground in a gorgeous natural setting. Many of the sites are located in a hemlock forest along the edge of the creek, which features tumbling water, large moss-covered boulders, and numerous swimming holes. The camping facilities are basic, and showers and port-a-potties could be cleaner, but the staff are friendly and helpful. I cannot comment on the cabins, but our campsite, #3, was lovely and spacious and the sound of the creek was very relaxing. The campsites vary quite a bit by size and level of privacy, so be sure to take a look at the campground map on their website and include a note with any requests to the staff when making a reservation on the website. Another thing to note is that the campground is located on the western side of a mountain ridge, which means that it receives a lot of rain, mainly in the evening and overnight. If camping, be sure to waterproof your tent and bring rain gear! - Mayya Pechenova
