Yanawana Camp RV Park offers a charming and intimate setting designed for self-sufficient travelers. Known for its exceptional hospitality and strategic location, this "great little park" provides a comfortable and stress-free experience for visitors exploring the historic and vibrant city of San Antonio. This article will provide a detailed look into what makes Yanawana Camp RV Park an excellent choice for local Texans and out-of-state visitors alike.
Yanawana Camp RV Park is conveniently located at 2322 E Chavaneaux Rd, San Antonio, TX 78214, USA. This South Central San Antonio address places guests within easy reach of the city's most iconic attractions and essential services. The park’s location is a significant advantage for those looking to explore, as it's only about a 15-minute drive from the world-famous Alamo and the picturesque San Antonio Riverwalk areas. This proximity means less travel time and more time to enjoy historical sites, vibrant cultural districts, diverse dining, and unique shopping experiences that define San Antonio.
For those who prefer active exploration, the park offers excellent accessibility to outdoor activities. A short walk from the gate leads to the San Antonio Riverwalk bicycle/walk trail, connecting you directly to attractions like Mission Espada and Mission San Juan Capistrano, part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While some highway noise might be noticeable initially, many guests report quickly acclimating to it, finding the overall peace and convenience outweigh this minor detail. The park's location also provides reasonable access to grocery stores, gas stations, and other necessities, ensuring a practical and enjoyable stay in the heart of Texas.
Full Hookup RV Sites: Yanawana Camp offers comprehensive hookups at each of its sites, including 20, 30, and 50 amp electricity, fresh water connections, and sewer hookups. This ensures a seamless and comfortable stay for fully self-contained RVs, accommodating various rig sizes up to approximately 34 feet (though some sources suggest up to 40 ft).
Personalized Host Assistance: A standout service, as frequently highlighted in reviews, is the exceptional hospitality from the hosts, Gabby and Clemente. They go "above and beyond," often personally guiding guests to their parking spots and delivering welcome packets directly to the RV. This personalized touch makes new arrivals feel immediately comfortable and supported.
Complimentary Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi is provided, which is a major bonus for travelers looking to stay connected, work remotely, or save on data costs while on the road.
Secure Gated Access: The park features a locked gate, providing an added sense of security and peace of mind for guests throughout their stay. This enhances the feeling of a private and safe environment.
Information and Guidance: Hosts are known for providing valuable local information, including brochures, maps to attractions like the Missions, and excellent restaurant suggestions, helping guests make the most of their San Antonio visit.
Pet-Friendly Policy: Yanawana Camp welcomes pets, allowing travelers to bring their beloved companions along for the journey. However, pet owners should be aware of specific breed restrictions (e.g., Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Shepherd, Mastiff, Chow, American Terrier) and ensure pets are leashed, controlled, and waste is promptly picked up.
Small and Intimate Park: With approximately five back-in sites, Yanawana Camp offers a smaller, more intimate RV park experience. This contributes to the friendly atmosphere and allows for more personalized attention from the hosts.
Super Friendly Hosts: Customer reviews consistently praise Gabby and Clemente for their exceptional kindness, helpfulness, and genuine hospitality, often making guests feel like family.
Self-Contained RV Focus: The park does not offer public restrooms, showers, or laundry facilities. This means it is ideally suited for self-contained RVs equipped with their own amenities, ensuring a more private and independent stay.

Picnic Areas: Each site or common areas may include picnic tables, providing a pleasant outdoor space for dining or relaxation.
Community Fire Pit: There is a community fire pit, offering a cozy spot for guests to gather, socialize, and enjoy evenings under the Texas sky, provided there are no burn bans in effect.
Gravel Sites: The RV sites are gravel, providing a stable surface for parking, and are designed to accommodate slide-outs.

Yanawana Camp RV Park Reviews
Great little park. Super friendly hosts. I'm still a green traveler so having someone guide me to park was great. Free Wi-Fi was also a major bonus and helped me save some money. It can get noisy from the highway at night but after the second night , you don't notice it.
Nov 24, 2023 · Sal YanezGabby and Clemente are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. They even came out to help us park and delivered our welcome packet directly to our parked location. The park itself may be small, but it is fully equipped with all the necessary amenities including electricity, water, and sewer hookup. The locked gate provided an added sense of security and peace of mind throughout our entire stay. Plus, their location only 15 minutes away from the famous Alamo and Riverwalk areas made it the perfect home base for our adventures. We had such a fantastic time that we're already planning our next visit. Thank you, Gabby and Clemente, for your wonderful hospitality!
Jun 13, 2023 · Therese WintersExcellent safe place to stay while visiting so many great attractions in the area which are close but not too close, San Antonio is a huge very busy place and we chose this place for its size of only 5 spots, price, a locked gate day and night that only registered guests have a key for and just around the corner is the start of the awesome biking/hiking River Walk Trail system that brings you to each and every mission, last one being the Alamo. That’s the safety that we really appreciated knowing we can go off in the day or night for the attractions and know that no one was just going to drive through our unattended campground also the owners live right on the property and take excellent care of it.Only reason for missing one star is the lack of WiFi also there was some street racing that goes all over San Antonio at night that you can hear even though this campground is not located right next to roads like others. We enjoyed our stay, would return and as other reviews state, the owners are super friendly and accommodating.Full hookups, 30/50 amp service, good water and pressure, 80 antenna channels, many in HD
Dec 17, 2020 · really strange But trueGreat location for exploring San Antonio and the missions. The owners are a great source of local knowledge and very helpful. Access to the bike trail is about a minute from the campground. Will stay again when in San Antonio.
Oct 31, 2023 · Mark ColemanNice 4 campsites in the back. Long driveway big front yard. No sign and a locked gate. Not for big rigs. But worked out fine and a great location.
