West Point Lodge & Resort is designed to offer a comprehensive recreational experience, extending beyond just RV sites. Their services are tailored to both RV campers and those utilizing their resort amenities. It's important to note that the lodge itself no longer offers overnight rooms or non-seasonal camping, focusing primarily on seasonal RV camping and their resort amenities. Based on publicly available information, the services offered include:
- Seasonal RV Camping: West Point Lodge welcomes 50 seasonal campers annually. Sites are available for seasonal leases, meaning campers secure a spot for the entire season (typically May-September). This is a popular option for Wisconsin locals who want a consistent lakefront retreat.
- Metered Electric: All RV sites include 20, 30, and 50 amp service, with electricity metered and billed quarterly to residents, allowing for efficient usage.
- Pumping Services: The resort highly recommends and facilitates pumping services for RV tanks every other week from May to September, as there is no dumping site on location. Tanks are available for purchase through West Point if needed.
- Private Boat Launch: Guests have access to a private boat launch on Big McKenzie Lake, making it easy to get out on the water for fishing, boating, or watersports.
- Public & Private Docks: Opportunities to dock boats for convenient lake access.
- Shower House: A clean and well-maintained shower house is available for campers, offering comfort and convenience.
- Restaurant and Bar: The lodge features a restaurant and bar, offering a convenient dining option with lakeside views. Reviews mention delicious food, particularly walleye, and a "quaint lakeside resort atmosphere."
- Tiki Bar: Open for holidays and special events, adding to the resort's vibrant atmosphere.
- Winter Storage: While not included in the seasonal site price, a deposit for the following season includes winter camper storage, ensuring continuous spot retention.
It's important to manage expectations regarding service quality, as one review highlighted a negative experience with bar service and cold food. However, other reviews praise the welcoming staff and excellent food, suggesting that experiences can vary.
West Point Lodge & Resort truly shines with its array of features and highlights, making it a standout destination for RVers in Wisconsin.
- Direct Lake Access to Big McKenzie Lake: With 1,300 feet of sand beach, guests have immediate access to this beautiful, spring-fed lake, perfect for swimming, fishing (Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Musky), and all types of boating activities like skiing, wakeboarding, and jet skiing. "Quaint lakeside resort atmosphere," as one review noted, truly captures the essence.
- ATV Trail Access: A major draw for many, West Point is directly on the ATV trail system, allowing guests to ride directly from their campsite to explore miles of scenic trails.
- Family-Friendly Amenities: The resort offers a playground, horseshoes, bean bag toss, and sand volleyball, providing activities for all ages.
- Scenic Views and Outdoor Recreation: The opportunity to sit on the deck and watch the sunset over the lake, as mentioned in a review, is a highlight. The extensive shoreline of Big McKenzie Lake offers breathtaking natural beauty.
- Seasonal Camping Focus: The emphasis on seasonal camping fosters a strong sense of community among repeat visitors, creating a friendly and familiar atmosphere.
- Restaurant and Bar On-Site: The convenience of having dining and drinks available steps from your RV site or cabin is a significant bonus, offering delicious meals and a place to socialize. The walleye dinner was specifically highlighted as "delicious."
For promotions or special offers at West Point Lodge & Resort, direct contact is always the best approach. As a seasonal RV park and resort, specific promotional deals might be tied to booking seasonal sites early or to special events hosted at the lodge.
Based on available information, for seasonal cabin rentals, a non-refundable deposit equal to one month's rent is required to secure a reservation. The remainder of the payment is typically due by May 1st, along with a damage deposit. For RV sites, a deposit for the upcoming season is also required to secure your spot, which goes towards the total seasonal fee. It is not uncommon for popular seasonal resorts in Wisconsin to offer incentives for early bookings or for referring new seasonal campers, though these would need to be confirmed directly. They may also have special events or holiday promotions at the restaurant or tiki bar during peak seasons.

West Point Lodge & Resort Reviews
Quaint lakeside resort atmosphere. Exceptional food, very large entree portions. Delicious Walleye dinner. The bartender served us at our table and was so nice and welcoming. Look forward to returning during the summer to sit on the deck and watch the sun set over the lake.
Apr 29, 2018 · Loni WernerService in the bar was terrible. Fry's were not seasoned and did not come with the chipotle ranch like the menu said. Pizza was still cold. Cook asked if it was hot. I said no. He said had it in for 15 min. Now I know for next time. Great thanks. Don't offer to warm it up. Spent 1hr and 30 min there. Never got asked if we wanted another drink.
Jul 08, 2018 · C KGreat lakeside place with the friendliest service. My kids played at a lakeside playground while I played volleyball with some amazing strangers... loved it. I loved the broccoli cheese bites, and still definitely visit again. Good times had by all...I highly recommend!
Jun 08, 2018 · Stevi RoseNever been to a bar or restaurant with no wait staff. Called to see if they had fish fry and burgers, yep. Didn't think that meant we had to go to the bar ourselves everyone we wanted a beer or to order our own food. We sat at a table twiddling our thumbs for a half hour and no one ever came over or even felt like telling us we needed to order food or drinks at the bar. Thought it would be a good place to go eat on our anniversary based on reviews, we were wrong. Reviews must be from people for the campers/resort, not restaurant. Won't be back.
Apr 22, 2017 · Tara TylewskiFun place to stop on a road trip. Especially on a warm sunny day. Great people watching. Plus the setting in beautiful for watching all the water activity. Can’t address the food, have not ate there yet.
