Vogtle RV Park Introduce
For Georgia residents, particularly those who are contractors or workers associated with the Plant Vogtle nuclear facility in Waynesboro, finding suitable and convenient accommodation is a key consideration. Vogtle RV Park aims to serve this specific niche, providing RV sites designed to offer a place to stay close to a significant industrial center. As an RV park, its primary function is to provide necessary hookups for recreational vehicles, acting as a practical housing solution for those on assignment or seeking extended stays in the area.
The nature of Vogtle RV Park, as indicated by customer reviews, leans towards a utilitarian purpose rather than a recreational resort. It provides essential services for RVs, such as electrical hookups, which are fundamental for a comfortable stay, especially for individuals working long hours on local projects. The park's location is intrinsically linked to the needs of the Plant Vogtle workforce, offering proximity that can significantly reduce commute times and logistical challenges for contractors and staff.
However, it is crucial for prospective visitors, especially Georgia locals considering a stay here, to approach Vogtle RV Park with a clear understanding of its operational style and the experiences of past guests. Customer feedback reveals a mixed picture, highlighting both the practical advantages and significant areas of concern. While some reviews suggest a clean and fairly priced housing option, others raise serious issues regarding property maintenance, the availability and functionality of advertised amenities, and discrepancies in pricing. This varied feedback underscores the importance of thorough due diligence before committing to a stay.
For any Georgia resident considering Vogtle RV Park, whether for work or an extended visit to the Waynesboro area, it is paramount to contact the management directly, confirm all details regarding rates, available services, and understand the terms of their stay. Being informed about these potential discrepancies can help manage expectations and ensure a more satisfactory experience, especially given the park's specific target demographic and its role in providing essential housing near a major industrial site.
Vogtle RV Park is located at 6581 River Rd, Waynesboro, GA 30830, USA. This address places it within close proximity to Plant Vogtle, a significant nuclear power plant. For Georgia residents, particularly those employed as contractors or staff at the plant, this location offers a distinct advantage in terms of commute time and convenience, making it a highly practical choice for temporary or long-term housing during work assignments.
Waynesboro itself is a city in Burke County, Georgia. While it may not be a major metropolitan center, its connection to Plant Vogtle makes it an important area for industrial operations. Access to Vogtle RV Park is primarily via River Road, which provides a direct route to the plant and connects to other local roads. This ensures that workers can quickly and easily reach their job site, which is a key factor for this park's target demographic.
For those traveling by RV, the roads leading to and from the park, and within the park itself, are designed for vehicle access. However, as noted in customer reviews, the condition of these roads and the overall property may vary. Being a more utility-focused park, the emphasis is on providing the basic hookups and a place to park, rather than extensive landscaped drives typically found in resort-style RV parks.
While the park's direct surroundings might be rural, the town of Waynesboro offers basic amenities such as grocery stores, gas stations, and some dining options for residents. For more extensive services, Augusta, Georgia, a larger city, is within a reasonable driving distance. The primary accessibility feature of Vogtle RV Park remains its strategic location relative to Plant Vogtle, directly serving the needs of the workforce in that industrial area of Georgia.
Based on customer reviews and the nature of an RV park catering to long-term stays, Vogtle RV Park aims to offer fundamental services for RVers. However, it's crucial to note that the *functionality* and *condition* of these services are subject to significant discrepancies reported by customers.
- RV Sites with Electric Hookups: Advertised availability of 30-amp hookups (and potentially other amperage options, though 30-amp is explicitly mentioned). Note: A review states a 30-amp trailer was charged for a higher amperage.
- Water Hookups: Essential for RV sites.
- Sewer Hookups: Essential for RV sites.
- Monthly Rates: Advertised monthly rates for RV spots (e.g., $600 for 30-amp hookup, though a review claims higher charges).
- WiFi Access: Advertised as free WiFi on the website. Note: A customer review explicitly states there is "none."
- Laundry Facilities: Advertised laundry facilities. Note: A customer review describes them as a "shack with garbage all over the floor" and non-functional machines.
- Housing for Workers/Contractors: Primarily caters to individuals working at the nearby nuclear plant.
- Possible Direct TV & TVs in Rooms (for specific housing units): One positive review mentions "Direct TV with a bunch of channels" and "Nice TVs on the wall in every bedroom" and "2 heat and air conditioners," suggesting there may be separate housing units or cabins available in addition to RV spots. This contrasts sharply with RV site descriptions.
Based on customer reviews, the features and highlights of Vogtle RV Park present a mixed and somewhat conflicting picture:
- Convenient Proximity to Plant Vogtle: This is arguably the primary, and most consistent, highlight. The park's location is exceptionally convenient for "the guys working at the nuclear plant," significantly reducing commute times and logistical burdens for contractors and plant personnel.
- Potential for Fairly Priced Housing (Conflicting): One positive review mentions "fairly priced housing for the guys working at the nuclear plant." However, this directly conflicts with another review claiming pricing discrepancies and overcharging for RV spots. Prospective visitors must verify current pricing and terms meticulously.
- Reported Excellent WiFi (Conflicting): One review enthusiastically states "Excellent WiFi!" This is directly contradicted by another review asserting there is "none." This highlights a significant inconsistency in experience.
- Reported Working Laundry Room (Conflicting): One positive review claims a "fairly priced laundry room that works well." This is starkly contrasted by another review describing it as a "shack with garbage all over the floor" with machines that "don't look like they have worked in years."
- Potential for Furnished Housing Units (Distinction from RV sites): The review mentioning "Direct TV with a bunch of channels," "Nice TVs on the wall in every bedroom," and "2 heat and air conditioners" strongly suggests that there are furnished cabins or modular homes on the property, distinct from basic RV sites. These units seem to offer a much higher standard of amenity compared to the RV park experience described by another reviewer.
- Issues with Maintenance & Upkeep: A significant concern raised is the "no maintenance" and "no upkeep at all." Specific complaints include uncut grass ("only got cut once" in a month), the entire property being "one giant ant hill" with "countless ant mounds," and a "rotted" bridge/rails.
- Concerns about Management & Transparency: A severe negative highlight is the accusation of the owner being a "thief" for overcharging and failing to refund, and being difficult to reach ("calling her is futile unless it's rent time"). This raises serious concerns about customer service and billing transparency.
- Basic Field-Like Setting for RVs: For RV camping, the property is largely described as "essentially a field" with minimal aesthetic upkeep.

Given the conflicting information in customer reviews, it is absolutely essential for any prospective visitor to Vogtle RV Park to contact management directly via the provided phone numbers. It is highly advised to confirm all pricing, what is included in the rate (e.g., electricity, WiFi), and the current operational status of all advertised amenities (such as laundry facilities and WiFi). Additionally, inquire about the type of accommodation (RV site vs. furnished housing) and its specific features. Consider getting any agreements or pricing in writing before arrival to avoid potential discrepancies.
For Georgia locals, particularly those working as contractors or employees at Plant Vogtle, Vogtle RV Park's primary suitability lies in its unparalleled proximity to the nuclear facility. This convenience can be a significant factor for individuals seeking to minimize daily commute times and find direct, accessible housing during their work assignments in the Waynesboro area. For this specific demographic, the ability to park an RV close to the job site can outweigh other considerations, positioning the park as a utilitarian and practical solution.
However, it is critically important for any Georgia resident considering Vogtle RV Park to be fully informed about the very mixed and often conflicting customer experiences. While one review points to "fairly priced housing" and functional amenities like "Excellent WiFi!" and a "fairly priced laundry room," another offers stark warnings about a lack of maintenance, non-existent WiFi, unusable laundry facilities, rampant ant infestations, and serious billing discrepancies. The positive comments often seem to relate to what might be separate, more developed housing units, rather than the basic RV sites described in the negative feedback.
Therefore, while the park *could* be suitable for locals needing ultra-convenient access to Plant Vogtle, this suitability comes with a strong caveat. Prospective residents must engage in direct, thorough communication with the park management, verify all promised services and pricing in advance, and ideally, inspect a site or unit before committing. For those who prioritize basic function and location above all else for work-related stays, and who are prepared to rigorously confirm all details, Vogtle RV Park offers a practical lodging solution in a very specific context within Georgia's industrial landscape. However, for those expecting standard campground amenities or a high level of maintenance and customer service, alternatives should be carefully explored.

Vogtle RV Park Reviews
DO NOT CAMP HERE!I made the mistake of camping here for Vogtle V1R25First off, the lady that owns the place lives in Florida. There is no maintenance there and calling her is futile unless it's rent time. She states on her website that there is free wiFi. There is none. The "laundry facilities" is a shack with garbage all over the floor, some recliner in the center of the shack and some coin operated washers and dryers that don't look like they have worked in years. The entire place is essentially a field. I was there for a month and the grass only got cut once. There is no upkeep at all. The entire property is one giant ant hill. I had ants everywhere throughout my trailer. Just countless ant mounds no matter where you walk on the property. Now let's talk about the thief who owns the place. Her website states that it's $600 a month for a 30amp hookup. My trailer is 30amp. I called here when I arrived and gave her my credit card info. BIG MISTAKE! A week later, she charged me $700 for the spot. She would not reply to messages about refunding my $100. She is nothing More than a thief ripping off hardworking contractors. I had to stop my credit card for fear that she would charge even more. DO NOT give that woman your credit card number! There are much nicer places, that are very well-kept, even closer to the plant for $400 a month. She is simply a conman. I don't know how people like that sleep at night.
Oct 02, 2024 · Michael FinneganThe best or of every place my dad looked at. Very nice clean and fairly priced housing for the guys working at the nuclear plant. Has a fairly priced laundry room that works well. Excellent WiFi! and Direct TV with a bunch of channels. Nice TVs on the wall in every bedroom and 2 heat and air conditioners.
Apr 20, 2018 · Kylie-Grace WagnerBest RV Park in the area by far. It's located really close to the plant and on a paved Road. Miss Sylvia keeps her campers very clean. My husband and I will definitely be staying here when we come back to Vogtle. Thank you again Miss Sylvia for a wonderful experience.

Sep 12, 2020 · Cindy LeeI just left Vogtle RV Park and wanted to leave a review. I noticed someone said they only rented for a minimum of 6 months . This is not accurate as I rented for only a month and left monday. This is a really nice park and the camper was clean. I would stay again :)
