Valley View RV Park & Camping Near West Yellowstone Introduce
For Idaho residents looking for the perfect blend of scenic beauty, convenience, and modern amenities near a major national park, Valley View RV Park & Camping Near West Yellowstone in Island Park, Idaho, is an exceptional choice. This destination serves not just as a place to park your RV, but as a full-service complex that caters to nearly every travel need. Situated in the heart of the Targhee National Forest region, it offers a stunning basecamp for exploring the vast wilderness of Eastern Idaho and the world-renowned wonders of Yellowstone National Park.
Island Park, Idaho, is famous for having the longest main street in America, stretching over 33 miles. It's an area defined by dense forests, numerous fishing spots on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, and close proximity to Henry's Lake and the majestic Tetons. Valley View RV Park is strategically positioned to allow Idahoans to fully engage with these local treasures. Furthermore, its location is a pragmatic solution for those visiting Yellowstone: it's close enough to allow for easy day trips—only about a 15- to 20-minute drive to the West Entrance—yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of West Yellowstone, Montana, to provide a quiet, spacious, and relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds.
The complex operates as more than just a campground; it’s a vital community resource. Its on-site services, including a gas station and a massive laundromat, provide essential amenities to both travelers and locals in the Island Park area. This commitment to convenience, combined with a reputation for impeccably clean facilities and friendly, helpful management (who provide great tips on local hikes and day trips), makes Valley View RV Park a highly recommended stop for any Idaho traveler. The park is proudly family-owned and operated since 2021, and guests are frequently treated with genuine Idaho hospitality.
The park is situated directly on US Highway 20, the primary route connecting the area to West Yellowstone and Rexburg/Idaho Falls. This highway location ensures straightforward, big-rig-friendly access. Key locational and accessibility points include:

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2025. The park is very nice, the mgmt was extremely helpful with a minor issue we had while there. They were also really helpful providing ideas on hikes and day trips to take. The bathrooms and showers were impeccably clean. Huge laundry house so no issues waiting for laundry. Lots of space to walk big dogs as well. Would stay here again absolutely.
August 05 · Lisa HockersmithWe had a good experience staying here with our camper! There was plenty of space at each spot, with a picnic table and full hook ups. It was a nice outdoor setting. The bathrooms were clean and great! There were showers as well. It was only a few minutes drive int Yellowstone.
July 27 · Tamilisa MinerThis is our third visit at Valley View RV Park. Had to give overall 3 star review. Such a disappointment to see everything is dead. The website shows green grass and lush trees however, those are older photos. That's what it used to look like. I couldn't even take a photo this time because it was so sad to see they let everything die. I requested a specific site and chose NOT to pay the extra $35.00 to guarantee that site. Sure enough, I was not assigned that site # even though there was no one in it. Got probably the worst site, grass completely dead, weeds and gopher holes. Showers are beautiful, but hit and miss with hot water even though no one else was in them. Did not make a fuss about any of it. But may never be back. The staff is great and the location is great if you are going in to see Yellowstone. I hope they decide to update the website to reflect the current state of the park, or start giving it some TLC.
August 12 · Diana AbbatecolaWe had an amazing experience staying here. We stayed in a tent and were so impressed by how friendly and thoughtful the staff was. The bathrooms are super clean and exceeded our expectations. The laundry facility was clean and super easy to use. The amenities were great. We would definitely return again!
June 21 · Rachel NelsonThe place was located 25 min from Yellowstone, they had a laundry mat area, a kids area inside, games, and the people were nice and accommodating. The area it self was bare not much to look at just hook up. general store within walking distance (but kinda spendy). no rooms only Motorhomes or trailers m. People camping.
