Valley River RV Resort Reviews
We were here 3 years ago, and the park was immaculate. Well. …. it’s not anymore. Apparently there is a new owner(s) and things have really gone downhill. The few staff that are working are very nice and helpful, and have gone out of their way to make sure we are comfortable with our site. It’s really a shame; we love this area for the Harley riding and the location is great, but we will be finding another place to stay next year.😔
May 15, 2025 · Cindi JunkinsThis place absolutely sucks and is appalling! They tell you trash is included but it literally sits outside at the end of your lot all day stinking the park up. They say premium wifi but you can't get internet without a extension that you have to buy. But even with a extension your still not able to watch TV. The land maintenance is atrocious. When they cut the park, the front looks like golf course but the rest of the park towards the back looks horrible. Barley any grass in the lots and what little grass there is when they mow the grass is six inches high after mowing its four. Idk who owns this park but you need to sow some grass seed and step up the wifi because ppl are not getting what is advertised with this $700 a month. Honestly you'd probably be better off renting the back yard of a crack house from a crackhead. When I stayed there likes what it felt like
May 07, 2025 · Edward NixFrom the photos, you think you'll be staying in a really nice 'resort,' but au contraire! The 'lake' is a mere pond that is only moderately pretty on one end. The traffic noise is annoying and not relaxing. We had high hopes that this would live up to the pictures and description, but we were sadly disappointed. They have Wifi but come to find out it doesn't work with smart TVs, so that was yet another misleading advertisement. They also state on their site that the pool is open in the spring. We were up there shortly after the first day of spring and there wasn't even water in the pool. The view toward the back of the campground is hideous and that's where the pond is less than attractive as well. The only plus I could see in booking here is the proximity to the casino. Save your money and go to the KOA in Murphy... you won't be disappointed.
Mar 28, 2025 · DeborahSpent a long weekend here while in town for a cycling event. The resort is near several WNC towns, each with plenty to offer. Apparently, there is a casino across the highway. For a this type resort the sites are fairly spacious, but there is absolutely no shade for the middle row of sites. Scenic Little lake on one side of the park. Nice pool (very welcome after spending hours on a bicycle in the heat!!). The bathrooms near the pool could stand a good airing out as they are a tad musty.Very friendly staff - called to find out when they might expect us, and they had all the paperwork ready when we walked in the door. For those who like this type of resort you will enjoy this place. We are state park campers and prefer spacious sites with shade.
Aug 06, 2024 · Melissa RollossonLocation, Location, Location! Clean, kid friendly, and camp host is phenomenal! I saw the post the about the pool & workout room. The pool is big enough to swim in & you can also walk in it. We spent a lot of time at the pool and made a lot of memories with our family. The work out equipment is NOT all broken. Also, as far as this video, I distinctly remember this RV and they had a huge bird feeder out back of it. With any kind of sense, you’re attracting other critters. Also, it’s camping. You’re going to have animals. We are in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Believe it, or not, they have birds (with wings and feathers) that fly over. I hope you stop and enjoy this best kept secret. We will continue staying here and making memories in this campground.
