This isn't just another place to park your rig; it's a carefully designed haven that prioritizes peace, natural beauty, and spacious comfort.
Up the Creek RV Camp has garnered significant praise from fellow RVers, many hailing it as one of the nicest places they've stayed, even for full-time travelers. The consistent feedback points to its well-maintained grounds, the calming presence of the converging creeks, and the genuinely friendly staff. While it’s noted as a "no frills" park in the sense that it doesn't boast a swimming pool or a large clubhouse, this is precisely its charm for those seeking an authentic and tranquil camping experience. It’s an ideal escape from the lively hustle and bustle of downtown Pigeon Forge, offering a quieter, more natural setting without sacrificing convenience to local attractions.
This article will delve into the specifics of Up the Creek RV Camp, from its ideal location and accessibility to the services and unique features that make it a standout choice for Tennessee locals looking for a premium RV camping experience in the heart of the Smokies. We’ll explore why this park is highly recommended by those who’ve enjoyed its serene atmosphere and well-appointed sites.
Up the Creek RV Camp is strategically located at 1919 Little Valley Rd, Pigeon Forge, TN 37862, USA. This address places it just outside the immediate commercial flurry of Pigeon Forge, offering a perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. For Tennessee residents, reaching the park is typically straightforward, with good road access.
The park is approximately three miles from the main Parkway in Pigeon Forge. When traveling, particularly with an RV, it's recommended to approach from Interstate 40, Exit 407 (US-441 S) and proceed through Pigeon Forge. While other routes may exist, they can be curvy or steep, making them less RV-friendly, and GPS systems have sometimes led travelers astray down challenging roads. Following the park's recommended directions ensures a smoother journey to your peaceful destination. Once at the park, its location provides easy access to all the major attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, including Dollywood, The Island, numerous theaters, shopping outlets, and, of course, the stunning Great Smoky Mountains National Park itself. The convenience of being close to these attractions while being able to retreat to a quiet, natural setting is a significant advantage for local visitors. Notably, a public trolley stop is available at the campground, offering convenient transportation into Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg without the need to drive your own vehicle, a great perk for motorhome owners who prefer not to unhook their tow vehicles for every outing.
Up the Creek RV Camp is designed with the modern RVer's needs in mind, providing essential services for a comfortable stay. It focuses on delivering core amenities with a high level of quality and maintenance.

What truly sets Up the Creek RV Camp apart are its unique features and the overall atmosphere it cultivates for its guests.
- Creek-Side Ambiance: The park is beautifully nestled between two converging mountain creeks, Walden Creek and Cove Creek. Many sites back directly onto these creeks, offering soothing sounds of flowing water and picturesque views. Guests frequently highlight the joy of watching wildlife and even putting their feet in the water directly from their site.
- Spacious RV Sites: Unlike many RV parks that pack sites tightly together, Up the Creek RV Camp prides itself on having some of the largest and most scenic RV sites in the Smoky Mountains. This ample space provides privacy and a less crowded feel, allowing campers to truly relax and spread out.
- Mature Trees and Landscaping: The grounds are lined with magnificent hardwoods and feature thoughtful landscaping, creating a beautiful and shaded environment. This attention to natural aesthetics contributes to the tranquil and inviting atmosphere.
- Quiet and Peaceful Setting: Reviews consistently emphasize the quiet and peaceful nature of the campground, a welcome contrast to the often bustling environment of Pigeon Forge. It’s ideal for those seeking relaxation rather than constant activity within the park itself.
- Well-Maintained Grounds: The owners and staff take great pride in the property, ensuring the grounds are meticulously maintained. This commitment to cleanliness and upkeep is frequently praised by visitors, contributing to a premium experience.
- Proximity to Attractions with a Secluded Feel: While offering a serene escape, the park remains just a short drive from major attractions like Dollywood, the Titanic Museum, The Island, and the numerous shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The availability of a public trolley stop nearby further enhances this convenience.

Up the Creek RV Camp Reviews
Beautiful campground just outside of Pigeon Forge. Mature trees and shrubs, two converging creeks. Nice landscaping. Super friendly folks. We were so happy to get a pull in site for our Class A that was RIGHT ON Walden Creek. Watched the wildlife. Enjoyed the view. Even got to put my feet in the water.Halfway through our stay we had to move to an interior spot. Still nice . . . But being on the Creek is far and away the better option.Easy to get in and around with our 40' rig.Highly recommended!

Jul 04, 2025 · Jame HeumanThis is the ONLY campground that we will stay in Pigeon Forge!!!! It is absolutely beautiful, very clean, quiet, spacious secluded sites, pretty creek, and a feeling of being away from it all, although very close to Pigeon Forge with reasonable full hook up prices!! The owners are always very nice and accommodating!
