Trailer Tel Rv Park Introduce
For RV owners and those seeking a unique living arrangement in the heart of California's bustling Silicon Valley, Trailer Tel RV Park in San Jose offers a distinctive and established option. Situated at 1212 Oakland Rd, this park primarily caters to long-term residents, providing a more permanent and community-oriented RV living experience than transient campgrounds. It's a place where you can park your home on wheels and integrate into an urban environment, balancing convenience with the unique lifestyle that RV living affords.
RV parks, or recreational vehicle parks, are specially designed communities that provide designated spaces with essential utility connections for recreational vehicles. Unlike traditional campgrounds, which often focus on short-term recreational stays in natural settings, urban RV parks like Trailer Tel emphasize providing a stable and functional living environment for extended periods. This model is particularly appealing in high-cost areas like San Jose, where traditional housing can be prohibitively expensive. For many Californians, living in an RV park offers a more flexible and often more affordable alternative to conventional apartments or homes, especially for those working in the tech sector, traveling nurses, or retirees looking for a convenient home base.
Trailer Tel RV Park presents itself as a clean, organized, and amenity-rich facility, aiming to provide a comfortable stay for its residents. While past reviews offer varied perspectives, highlighting both strengths and certain challenges, the park's commitment to providing a structured environment with various conveniences is evident. It's crucial for prospective residents to understand the park's specific rules and amenities to ensure it aligns with their lifestyle and expectations.
Originally, Trailer Tel RV Park was known as a 55-and-older community, and while this demographic may still constitute a significant portion of its residents, the park's demographic has reportedly shifted, now welcoming a broader age range. This evolution means a more diverse community, though some long-time residents may have differing views on the change. This article will delve into the park's offerings, location advantages, and key features to help local Californians determine if Trailer Tel RV Park is the right fit for their RV living needs.
Trailer Tel RV Park is strategically located at 1212 Oakland Rd, San Jose, CA 95112, USA. It places residents within easy reach of downtown San Jose, a bustling center for employment, entertainment, dining, and cultural attractions. Major tech campuses, San Jose State University, and a wide array of shopping centers and essential services are all conveniently close. Proximity to public transit options also adds to the park's appeal, enabling residents to navigate the city efficiently.

Trailer Tel Rv Park Reviews
More suited to older retirees. The park is situated close to a major highway, which results in a noticeable amount of black dust settling on vehicles and outdoor items. Depending on the wind direction, there's an occasional odor reminiscent of a garbage dump, especially in the front half of the park. The 30amp (at best) power limitation can be quite inadequate for modern rigs. Be prepared to supplement with battery or generator power.Parking spaces are strictly individual, and any modifications to your rig, whether inside or outside, require written approval from the park management. The park's occupancy restrictions are more stringent than those of Santa Clara County. There's a 9 PM quiet time rule that's strictly upheld, even during festive weekends like the 4th of July. It's worth noting that this used to be a 55-and-older park. The shift in demographic has led to some seniors who aren't fond of the noise and activities of children and families.Unfortunately, there's no designated play area for kids, and they're not allowed electric bikes, scooters, or power wheels, though adults can use them. The park's layout can be confusing, leading to delivery drivers often speeding in frustration. The park uses pesticides without prior notice, so residents should be cautious for their pets and children. Only traditional outdoor items like barbecues, plants, and patio furniture are allowed. Children's toys, like playhouses, aren't permitted outside. Pets are restricted in size, with no green spaces provided for them. The pool has limited hours and is closed for a significant part of the year. Its heater isn't fully functional, and the park's Wi-Fi works best near the office. There's some noise from nearby commercial buildings, and while there have been instances of homeless individuals entering, the management addresses it promptly. The water quality could be better, so using a filter is advised. On the bright side, most residents are friendly, with only a few exceptions. However, the management approach can be assertive, sometimes resorting to changing rules or using intimidation tactics. It's not rare to see confrontations between management and residents. In summary, while there are some positive aspects, potential visitors should be aware of the park's limitations and rules.
Aug 20, 2023 · SideTangentDadIt's a very nice, clean, and organized facility, but sorry to say that. I wasn't aware that you need to have a fico score of 670 for you to be allowed to rent a space for 3 months I'm a traveling superintendent for a construction company I was only planning to stay there for 3 months, not to buy the property that hey I have a fico score of 640 it makes it seem like if I'm buying the property, you need to put a down payment of a $1000 deposit and rent 1750+100 on utilities. It's a shame that I was. I'm trying to rent a spot here for business. All I can say is they lot's a good customer. Two tums down.
May 08, 2025 · Francisco JaimesMy father lived here for over 10 years. He loved everything about it. I was his caretaker for the last 3 years of his life as he had terminal cancer. The rules on parking and yard upkeep were very stricked but I am not complaining. As those stricked rules are what keeps the place so nice. The management did change a couple of times but the level of outstanding work from those people never faltered. They are good people with excellent work ethics and the management should be recognized for their outstanding contributions. I highly recommend this RV park to anyone who can manage to be patient on the RV waiting list especally if you plan to stay for an extended period of time. All of the Amenities make it a very convenient place to live and the community is so friendly it's great. They even have 2 car washing stalls as well as access to yard tools and lawn mowers hedge trimmers and edgers. The laundry Matt even had clothes lines for your clothes that you don't want in dryer to air dry!! I can't even think of any way this place could be improved. I will miss going there to visit and care for my father as he made some very nice friends who were so helpful and showed genuine concern for a sick old man. They will be missed.
Jul 27, 2021 · Pamela AfricaThis was a great RV Park, but if your looking to get in quick no way - they usually have a long waiting list to get in as long as you don’t have to be out of the park at night your okay. Lots of homeless outside the park itself. They don’t have showers to use outside of your own RV, and one bathroom that is only for the pool area is locked up after hours. If you are looking for a clean place to stay and other great amenities it’s a nice place and price I feel is fair for the area. Not too far from stores or restaurants.
Dec 19, 2018 · Nanette TorresBeen here for years, and Love it. Yes, due to the economic climate on San Jose, there is a waiting list - and almost never a open space for drop-in overnighters. For temp or semi temporary long term folks, almost ideal as in gets here. I recommend it to my friends. 2020 June Update: Still here, new park manager, and still the best (IMHO) trailer park in the area. Still a waiting list and no drop in spots for years now. Family friendly, diverse and really good people here. Kept clean, well maintained and no favoritism for certain people like most parks have. Yeah, a list to get in, and not in the best section of San Jose, (which has been improving), only 30amp at almost all spots. But Not Just a Parking Spot. A community. We wave every day, have silicon nerds and working class and retired individuals and families. 10 years + for me, and I still have not seen anything in the area I would rather be.July 2022 Update: We have all had a few weird years since I last updated this. Park has settled down with a new manager. I still have not found a place in this metro area I'd rather be. Delighted to still be here. Now July 2025. I'm astounded I am still here, and still have everything to say positively about this unique place in the San Jose area. I cannot encourage you enough to investigate the park for short to long term. Stop by and see for yourself!
