Towns Bluff Park & Heritage Center Reviews
We've been on the road for about 50 days now and called the campground to get a reservation. Faye took our information and said we would be charged when we arrived later that day. The campground is large and the sites are spaced far apart. Be aware that it is a dirt road off of the paved road to get into the campground. The dirt road is well-maintained and poses no problems. Faye checked us in and gave us the senior discount rate. The campground signs are a little confusing, so drive all the way to the end of the campground to get to the office and store. We would definitely camp at this location again!
Jul 01, 2025 · Dymm WittSUP / Camping Adventure on the Altamaha River started out camping in tents, yurts, a pull behind camper and rented at RV for the weekend. This place is a hidden gem in South Georgia. The prices are amazing low and the park is cleaner than so many we have stayed in. I highly recommend this place and we will for sure be back soon to float the river and eat at Benton's Lees Steak House just 8 miles down stream with a minimum float time of 2.5 hours with the water levels at 78 feet.
May 05, 2020 · Chris DunnThis is a lovely place, I’m reluctant to review it because I feel like it’s my own little hide-out. Absolutely beautiful and quiet. Can’t wait to go back.
Feb 14, 2024 · Audrey SpolarichFull transparency - my wife and I are hosts at Towns Bluff Park and Heritage Center. We're full time RVers and Towns Bluff is a park we will visit again. It's a quiet peaceful park with a great boat ramp on the Altamaha River. 25 large pull through sites with various hook ups in a tall pine forest plus a primitive area both with bath houses and hot showers. Certainly no hunting in the park but many hunters use the campground as a base camp during deer season.Heritage Center is a well done project by local historians. Lots of local items and information about the area, river and past inhabitants. Talks and tours in the summer.Come for an afternoon or a week, you won't be disappointed.
