M-55 is a significant state highway that connects many communities and is a well-known route for those exploring the region. The park’s address positions it strategically within Tawas City, providing guests with relatively straightforward access to the town's amenities and local attractions. While the address indicates its general position, understanding the immediate surroundings, such as proximity to beaches, fishing spots, or hiking trails, can further inform your decision-making. Tawas River RV Park offers a range of services that cater to the basic needs of RV campers. Understanding these services, and any operational specificities, can help you plan your stay effectively.
- Online Booking via RoverPass: The park primarily utilizes the RoverPass website for reservations and payments. This digital system allows for convenient online booking, which is a common and often preferred method for modern travelers. Guests are expected to manage their bookings and payments through this platform.
- Assigned/Random Spot Policy: Based on customer feedback, there may be instances where an assigned spot is already taken, requiring guests to find another available random spot upon arrival. This indicates a potential flexibility in site assignments, which guests should be prepared for.
- Seasonal Water Availability: It's important for visitors to note that the park's water service is typically turned off in November. This seasonal operation is crucial information for anyone planning late-fall or winter stays, as it impacts the functionality of on-site water hookups. This detail is not explicitly stated on all public platforms, so pre-planning for water needs during non-summer months is advisable.
- Basic Site Rental: The park provides lots for trailer rentals. While the exact scope of services included with lot rental might vary, the primary service is the provision of space for your RV.
When considering Tawas River RV Park for your next Michigan RV trip, it's beneficial to understand its features and highlights, as well as any operational considerations, to ensure your expectations align with what the park offers.
- Riverfront Proximity: As its name suggests, Tawas River RV Park is located near the Tawas River. This proximity may offer opportunities for river-based activities, scenic views, or a tranquil atmosphere for those who enjoy being close to water. Direct access to the river can be a significant draw for fishing enthusiasts or those who enjoy waterside relaxation.
- Online Management System: The park's reliance on the RoverPass website for bookings and payments highlights a modern, digital approach to park management. This can be a convenience for guests who prefer online transactions and managing their reservations digitally.
- Tawas City Location: Its placement within Tawas City means easy access to local amenities, including restaurants, shops, and various recreational opportunities that the charming town of Tawas City offers. This allows campers to enjoy both the natural setting of the RV park and the conveniences of a nearby town.
- Operational Communication: Based on feedback, the park's management communication primarily occurs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and phone calls may not always be returned promptly. This indicates that direct communication with management might be less frequent, and guests should plan accordingly, relying more on the RoverPass system or information available online.
- Maintenance Considerations: Reviews suggest some ongoing maintenance challenges, particularly concerning communal bathroom facilities (urinals and showers) and the general upkeep of individual lots. Visitors planning to utilize their own RV's facilities extensively may find this less impactful. Additionally, a recurring concern is the expectation that the park, not renters, should be responsible for mowing individual rented lots. This points to a potential difference in expectations regarding property maintenance during a stay.
- Seasonal Water Shut-off: A key feature to be aware of is the seasonal turning off of water in November. This affects the availability of water hookups at sites during the late fall and winter months, requiring campers to be self-sufficient with water during this period.

Tawas River RV Park Reviews
no management communication they work Tuesday and Thursday if you're wondering and will not return your phone calls. you pay on rover pass website go to a random spot cause your spot is probably taken. they turn off the water in November, I suspected they would turn the water off but its not stated anywhere on rover pass, their website, or the office. they have serious plumbing issues at the park urinals are filled with black water and the showers drain to a main drain that is clogged so the bathhouse is useless. Long story short if you plan to stay here make sure its in the summer and make sure your camper shower works.
Nov 11, 2024 · JarodSINCE WE RENT THE LOT THE TRAILERS ARE ON. THE COMPANY NEEDS TO NOT ONLY MOW THE PARK BUT ALSO THE LOTS THE TRAILERS ARE ON. SINCE EVERYONE IS JUST RENTING. IT IS THE PARKS RESPONSIBILITY TO ALSO MOW THE RENTERS LOTS AS WELL.
May 23, 2025 · Angela WhitneyDO NOT GO HERE! This park is owned by Clear Trail Realty in Richmond, VA. I made a reservation over 30 days out on 6-28-24 and due to unforeseen circumstances, cancelled it the next day. Per their cancellation policy, 100% refund up to 7 days prior to reservation date. They have refused to refund my money as of 8-12-24. My credit card covered my loss. On site mgr said that this happens all the time. He once had to argue with the owner for 6 months to refund a $1300 charge when the customer refused to stay at the park because it was a dump. My loss was only $116. RoverPass, the online booking intermediary, was no help. They state that they do not manage any refunds. Thank goodness we didn't stay here.

Dec 26, 2024 · Makayla MatwyukI wish I could leave a no star review. I signed my title over to the manager of this park about a year in a half ago and just received court papers saying I still own said trailer. And can't talk to anyone about it. Their lawyers office won't call me back and the manager is the one I gave the title to with 5 different witnesses present.
