Sunset Mobile Village Introduce
For Michigan residents exploring diverse housing options, manufactured home communities, often known as mobile home parks, can be a consideration. Sunset Mobile Village, located in Farmington Hills, MI, is one such community that has been part of the local landscape for many years. It's important for prospective residents to gain a realistic understanding of what living in such a community entails, based on available information and past resident experiences.
Historically, mobile home parks have offered a unique housing alternative, often at a more accessible price point than traditional stick-built homes. They can provide a sense of community and independent living that differs from apartment complexes. However, as with any housing choice, it's essential to thoroughly research and understand the current conditions and management practices of a specific park.
Reviews from former residents of Sunset Mobile Village paint a varied picture. While one satirical review highlights an extreme appreciation for its unique charm and proximity to a storage facility, suggesting a tongue-in-cheek perspective, other reviews raise serious concerns about living conditions. These concerns include issues with older, unrenovated trailers, pest problems, and alleged lack of maintenance and upkeep by the property owner.
It's crucial for anyone considering Sunset Mobile Village to visit the property in person, speak with current residents if possible, and engage directly with the management to ascertain the present state of the community. Understanding the real-world conditions is paramount when evaluating if a mobile home park aligns with one's housing needs and expectations.
Sunset Mobile Village is located at 28730 Grand River Ave, Farmington Hills, MI 48336, USA. This address places the community directly on a major thoroughfare, Grand River Avenue, which is known for its commercial activity and connectivity throughout the region. For Michigan residents, a location on Grand River Avenue offers significant advantages in terms of accessibility to amenities and transportation.
The proximity to Grand River Avenue means residents have relatively easy access to a variety of services, including shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants, and other retail establishments. This can simplify daily errands and reduce commute times for essential needs. Public transportation options may also be available along such a main road, providing alternatives for those who prefer not to drive or rely on a vehicle.
Farmington Hills itself is a well-established city in Oakland County, known for its suburban environment, parks, and proximity to major business districts. While Sunset Mobile Village is situated on a busy road, its location within Farmington Hills means residents are part of a larger, developed metropolitan area. This offers access to a wider range of employment opportunities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and recreational activities within Farmington Hills and neighboring communities.
However, being directly on a main road also means potential exposure to traffic noise and activity, which is a factor some residents might consider. The convenience of location is a definite highlight for accessibility to the broader Farmington Hills and Detroit metro area.
Based on the nature of a mobile home park and the general information available for similar communities, the services typically offered at Sunset Mobile Village would pertain to the provision and maintenance of the property where manufactured homes are situated. These generally include:
- Lot Rental: The primary service, where residents pay a monthly fee to lease a plot of land on which their manufactured home is placed.
- Basic Infrastructure: Provision of hook-ups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity to individual lots, though residents are typically responsible for their utility bills.
- Road Maintenance: Upkeep of internal roads within the park. However, some past reviews suggest this has been an area of concern, with mentions of potholes.
- General Property Management: An on-site or accessible management team to handle rent collection, enforce community rules, and address resident inquiries. Reviews indicate varied experiences with management responsiveness.
It is important for prospective residents to inquire directly about the current state of these services. For example, some reviews suggest issues with utility consistency (though this might refer to a different property and is not directly tied to Sunset Mobile Village in the provided reviews, it highlights a common concern in some mobile home parks). The reviews provided explicitly mention a lack of investment into fixing trailers by the landlord/owner, which suggests that maintenance on individual units is not a service provided by the park, and that the park's overall condition may not be a priority for the owner.
Understanding what services are consistently provided and maintained is critical for a satisfactory living experience. Prospective residents should clarify all aspects of property management and maintenance responsibilities before committing.
When considering Sunset Mobile Village, it's essential to look at both the inherent aspects of its location and the experiences reported by former residents. While some reviews are highly critical, others (even if satirical) highlight certain perceived features:
- Strategic Location on Grand River Ave: The direct frontage on a major commercial artery provides exceptional convenience for shopping, dining, and accessing services. This is a significant advantage for those who prioritize ease of access to amenities in Farmington Hills.
- Affordable Housing Potential: Mobile home parks often represent a more affordable housing option compared to traditional homes in affluent areas like Farmington Hills. The mentioned rent of "$300 a month" (though this specific figure is from a dated review and may no longer be accurate) suggests a lower entry point for housing costs.
- Proximity to Local Amenities: The location allows for relatively easy access to various amenities within Farmington Hills, including schools, parks, and other community resources.
- Established Community: As an existing mobile home park, it offers an established community structure, which can appeal to those looking for a sense of neighborhood.
However, it is equally important to acknowledge the very strong negative feedback. Concerns include "busted, old, rusty trailers," "bugs, mice," and a general "depressing environment." The mention of "no credit or criminal background checks" and the presence of a "liquor store on the same property" (which could be perceived negatively by some) are also significant points for consideration. The "slumlord" description and claims of no money being put into repairs, despite rent charges, are serious allegations that prospective residents must investigate thoroughly before considering this location.
Given the strongly contrasting nature of the reviews provided, it is highly unlikely that Sunset Mobile Village currently offers publicly advertised "promotions or special offers" in a positive light. The focus of the critical reviews is on the basic living conditions and management practices rather than incentives for new residents.
In a scenario where a mobile home park is attempting to attract new residents amidst negative feedback, any promotions would likely aim to offset concerns about quality or encourage quick occupancy. These might include:
- Discounted first month's rent.
- Waived application fees (though reviews suggest no background checks, so this might be irrelevant).
- Incentives for bringing in new manufactured homes.
However, based on the provided reviews, it appears that the priority for potential residents should be to verify the actual state of the property and its management rather than seeking out promotional deals. Any offers should be viewed with extreme caution and thoroughly vetted, considering the serious allegations made by former residents about the property's condition and management's practices.
For any inquiries related to Sunset Mobile Village in Farmington Hills, Michigan, including questions about lot availability, current conditions, or rental procedures, you would typically contact the property directly. However, no phone number was provided for Sunset Mobile Village in the given information. Only the address is available:
- Address: 28730 Grand River Ave, Farmington Hills, MI 48336, USA
Given the nature of the reviews, if you are considering this location, it is critically important to attempt to contact the management or owner directly through any available means. This may involve searching for additional contact information online, such as a phone number or email, or visiting the property in person during business hours to speak with a representative. Without a direct phone number, personal visitation or a more extensive online search for contact details would be necessary to gather information.
For Michigan locals exploring housing options, Sunset Mobile Village offers a unique case study in mobile home park living within Farmington Hills. Its location directly on Grand River Avenue provides undeniable convenience, placing residents within easy reach of commercial amenities, transportation routes, and the broader Farmington Hills community. This accessibility to daily necessities and the wider metropolitan area is a significant draw for many seeking affordable living in a well-established suburb.
However, prospective residents must be fully aware of the serious concerns raised in available reviews regarding the property's condition, maintenance, and management practices. These reviews depict an environment with significant issues, including dilapidated trailers, pest problems, and a lack of investment in upkeep. The claims about the absence of background checks and the general environment of the park are critical factors that directly impact suitability.
While the concept of mobile home living can offer an affordable path to homeownership or independent living, the suitability of Sunset Mobile Village for Michigan locals hinges entirely on the current reality of its conditions. For any local considering this community, it is absolutely essential to conduct thorough personal research. This includes visiting the property, critically assessing its current state, attempting to speak with current residents to gauge their experiences, and engaging directly with management to clarify all concerns and verify promises. Without such diligent investigation, relying solely on the location's inherent convenience would be insufficient given the stark warnings from former tenants.

Sunset Mobile Village Reviews
I lived in downtown Northville for five years when I realized I needed something a little more luxurious. Then, one day I came across the sunset mobile home park, best day of my life. When I entered the lot I was blown away by the pure beauty of this park. I instantly placed an offer on the blue one in the back that was built in 1952 and hasn’t been renovated since 1952. it overlooks the downright gorgeous view of the storage facility behind it. I’ve lived in gross pointe, Birmingham, Plymouth, and west Bloomfield and never have I seen a property this extravagant. after moving here I decided to quit my job as a supersonic engineer at ford and pursue becoming pope. Thanks again sunset village, your property truly changed my life.
