Stadium Park & Campground Introduce
Welcome to **Stadium Park & Campground**, a conveniently located facility in Independence, Missouri, positioned to serve travelers, temporary residents, and long-term vehicle storage needs in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. For those seeking an accessible spot to park their recreational vehicle or a secure location to store an extra vehicle, this facility offers a practical solution right off a major highway. It's important for potential guests, especially those new to the area or traveling through, to have a clear understanding of what the park offers and what to expect from their stay.
The dual-purpose nature of Stadium Park & Campground—offering both **RV camping** and **storage facility** services—makes it a unique option in the region. Situated just a short drive from the cultural and entertainment hubs of Independence and Kansas City, it positions itself as a strategic base for exploring everything this vibrant part of Missouri has to offer, from historic sites to major sporting venues. This overview is designed to give you a factual, local perspective on the park, using publicly available details and customer feedback.
The facility primarily caters to those needing simple RV parking accommodations or a secure place for vehicle storage, making it a pragmatic choice for travelers passing through or those working in the area. Like many urban or semi-urban RV parks, the focus here is on convenient access to utilities and proximity to major roads and attractions, rather than a secluded, heavily amenity-rich resort atmosphere. Understanding this distinction is key to setting the right expectation for your visit.
Stadium Park & Campground boasts a highly accessible location for travelers navigating the Midwest. The facility is situated at **10021 E US Hwy 40, Independence, MO 64055, USA**, placing it directly on a major US route. This positioning is especially convenient, as the park is noted to be approximately one mile from **Interstate 70 (I-70)**, one of the nation's principal east-west highways. For Missouri residents and visitors alike, this easy access to the interstate system means you can quickly get on the road or reach local destinations like:
- **The Truman Sports Complex:** Home to the Kansas City Chiefs (Arrowhead Stadium) and Kansas City Royals (Kauffman Stadium).
- **Downtown Kansas City:** Approximately 10 minutes away, offering access to the Power and Light District, museums, and more.
- **Historic Sites in Independence:** Including the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum and the Independence Square.

The immediate local area features commercial conveniences, with a QuikTrip, Walmart Super Center, Lowe's, and various dining options (Dixon's Chili, Applebee's, iHop, etc.) located about a half-mile away. This proximity to essential services is a practical benefit for both short-term visitors and longer-term residents.
Furthermore, the facility is committed to basic accessibility, offering a **wheelchair-accessible entrance** and **wheelchair-accessible parking lot**, which helps accommodate guests with mobility concerns. The flat terrain typical of this part of Missouri also contributes to easy navigation around the park.
The primary services provided at Stadium Park & Campground revolve around core RV needs and vehicle security. These offerings are designed to cover the essentials for temporary stays and long-term parking.
**Core Services Include:**
- **RV Camping/Parking:** Designated sites for RVs, although the information suggests some sites may be primarily occupied by long-term residents. Full hookups (including sewer, water, and 50/30 amp electric hookups) are generally mentioned as available.
- **Vehicle Storage:** As a registered storage facility, the park offers secure parking for vehicles, which may include RVs, boats, or other automobiles when not in use. Security is enhanced by **perimeter fencing**.

**Key Highlights for Local Users and Travelers:**

Choosing an RV park or storage facility is about balancing location, services, and expectations. For users in the Missouri region, Stadium Park & Campground is a choice to consider for its functional convenience, particularly for those whose main priority is proximity to the Kansas City metro area.
The facility excels as a **pragmatic, no-frills staging ground**. If your itinerary centers on attending a Chiefs or Royals game, visiting the Harry S. Truman historic sites, or needing quick access to I-70 to transit to or from Kansas City, the location is difficult to beat. It is a utility-focused spot—you are paying for the convenience of full hookups and an easily accessible, secure lot near a major metropolitan area. This is the core value proposition.
For those seeking long-term RV or vehicle storage in the Independence area, the facility's designated storage services, combined with its perimeter fencing, offer a secure, accessible, and locally situated solution right off Highway 40. This dual function is a clear benefit, allowing residents to park their home-on-wheels and access it quickly when preparing for their next Missouri road trip.
It is prudent, however, to manage expectations regarding on-site recreational amenities and facility upkeep, as some customer feedback indicates areas that could use improvement, particularly with public facilities like restrooms and the reliability of some electric service connections. If you prioritize an immaculate, resort-style experience with numerous communal amenities over geographic convenience and essential services, you may want to research a county-run or resort-style park further away. However, if your needs are met by a **convenient, secure, dog-friendly, full-hookup parking spot with excellent access to the Kansas City metro**, Stadium Park & Campground offers a practical base for your Missouri adventures. It is highly recommended to call ahead to discuss your specific site needs (especially if you have a large rig or require 50-amp service) and to confirm current rates and availability before your arrival.
Ultimately, for those traveling through or planning a stay centered on the Independence/Kansas City area's attractions, the park serves its niche as an accessible and functional place to park your RV or store your vehicle.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Convenient location for our needs. Mostly permanent residents. Manager was pleasant and helpful but the facilities (restroom and shower) was less than desirable. Only used the toilet for urinating. Definitely did not want to sit for other business. Will seek a different location on our next trip out west.
August 20 · Mid Ohio Organized Disc GolfAbsolutely terrible! First of all, their prices are way too high for what they offer. I've stayed at much nicer parks and paid less. This place has had nothing done to it as far as maintenance. They claim they have had work done for improvement but it's all lies. 30 amp service.. .you are lucky to get 20 amps out of it.The manager has no clue as to the meaning of manager. She is beyond lazy yet claims she works all the time. Obviously not cleaning the laundry room or restrooms. And to top it off the manager is a chronic and habitual liar. The electric going to the RV sites is in such disrepair I am surprised nothing has caught fire yet. In the last week a 200 amp fuse has blown out leaving a good majority of the park without electricity for hours. And as usual, the manager has no clue and no spare fuses. I truly believe that the owner needs to bring someone in as manager that KNOWS what they are doing. I would have given less than one star if possible.Stay anywhere you want but please don't stay here. It is horrible.I just read through all of the reviews and noticed some interesting reviews. One of the reviews was from the owner (Roberto Munoz) and two other glowing reviews from the manager and her daughter. It looks like the stoop to these tactics to create the image of a nice RV park. Please don't fall for it.
December 19 · Steven RichardsI stayed here for approximately 10 months. I only used the bathroom facilities maybe twice in the whole time cuz they were either broke or disgusting. It takes forever to get to be able to use the laundry facilities as in days. The manager was not professional at all. She complained daily about the black mold in the office killing her, her hip, general health and people breaking into her trailer stealing her things. She constantly gossiped about other employees and residents about their personal business. I came home one night and she had dug plants out of the side yard right outside my door and left big holes. Called and sent text in middle of the night that didn't make sense. Constantly asking me to borrow things and help her do things around the park but never compensated me or returned borrowed things. Potholes everywhere. Would not recommend anyone ever stay here.
March 28 · ChristinaGreat for a two night stay. Met our needs perfectly. Manager was a super nice and very accommodating lady.Im giving this a 5 because of her.The park itself has a lot of long termers and some have piled up junk and trash. Owner needs to clean up the park and facilities.
June 04 · millie houseWe got in late for our reservation but we called and the owner was soo nice and helpful. We were able to get setup and get a good night sleep
