Spring Creek RV Resort Introduce
Howdy, fellow Texans! When planning an RV trip, whether it's a cross-state journey or a local getaway, choosing the right RV park is crucial for a smooth and enjoyable experience. Today, we're taking a closer look at Spring Creek RV Resort in Tyler, Texas. Located in the heart of East Texas, this park aims to provide a destination for RVers. However, as with any travel accommodation, understanding guest experiences and the realities on the ground is key to setting proper expectations for your visit.
An RV park, at its best, offers a convenient and comfortable base for your adventures, providing essential utilities and often a range of amenities to enhance your stay. Spring Creek RV Resort positions itself as a "resort," implying a higher level of facilities and services. While it does offer some key conveniences, recent guest feedback suggests that prospective visitors should consider a few factors before making their reservation. Our goal here is to provide a factual and balanced overview to help you, the local RVer, make an informed decision for your next trip to the Tyler area.
Spring Creek RV Resort is located at 13390 County Rd 4134, Tyler, TX 75704, USA. This address places it within a rural part of Tyler, which can offer a sense of peaceful escape from the city's direct hustle and bustle. The park's website mentions it's located 4 miles west of Loop 323 and about 3/4 mile north of Highway 64 W, directly across from Tyler Pounds Regional Airport. This proximity to the airport might be convenient for some, but it's worth noting for potential aircraft noise.
Accessibility to Spring Creek RV Resort is generally straightforward, being off a county road that connects to major arteries. Highway 64 is a key route in and out of Tyler, providing connections to Interstate 20 approximately 15 minutes away via Highway 49. This means that while the park itself may feel somewhat secluded, you're not far from Tyler's amenities. You'll find grocery stores, various restaurants, and other essential services within a reasonable driving distance. This blend of a quiet setting with relatively easy access to urban conveniences is often a desirable trait for RVers. However, it's important to remember that a "rural" setting can also mean limited public transport options, making a personal vehicle essential for exploring the surrounding area effectively.
Spring Creek RV Resort offers several essential services designed to accommodate RVers, focusing on the core necessities for a comfortable stay.
- Full Hookups: Each RV site at Spring Creek is equipped with full hookups, including 30 and 50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. This is a fundamental offering for any modern RV park, ensuring guests have all the necessary utilities at their site.
- Laundry Facilities: The park provides laundry facilities, described as "good - clean and a good number of machines" by one reviewer, and "spotless laundromat" by another. Having on-site laundry is a significant convenience, especially for longer stays.
- Free Wi-Fi and Cable TV: The park advertises free park-wide Wi-Fi and Suddenlink Cable TV access for guests. Reliable internet and entertainment options are increasingly important amenities for RV travelers.
- Propane Sales: On-site propane sales offer convenience for refilling tanks, eliminating the need to drive elsewhere for this essential RV supply.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: The park provides restroom and shower facilities for guests, although one older review mentioned cold bathrooms and slippery showers, more recent reviews emphasize cleanliness.
- Long-Term RV Storage: Spring Creek RV Resort also offers onsite and secure long-term RV storage options, catering to those who need a place to store their rig when not in use.
While marketed as a "resort," the features and highlights of Spring Creek RV Resort, based on recent customer feedback, paint a nuanced picture.
- Spacious Sites: Some reviews mention "wide spaces" and "plenty of space between RVs," which is a positive for privacy and maneuverability. However, another review noted "no trees or anything in between spaces so limited privacy" in the newly cleared areas.
- Concrete Pads (Partial): One reviewer noted concrete pads were present, although the exact placement relative to the RV hookups could be awkward. Other reviews mention gravel sites, suggesting a mix of surfaces or different sections of the park.
- Pool Availability (Inconsistent): A significant highlight that customers expect from a "resort" is a swimming pool. However, one recent review highlighted that the pool was "closed for the 3 days we were onsite with no info online to advise of the closure." Older reviews mention an active pool, indicating inconsistent availability.
- Quiet Atmosphere (Mixed Reviews): Some older reviews praise the park for being "amazingly, wonderfully quiet" with "no road noise, neighbors quiet too," creating a "country atmosphere." However, the proximity to the airport might impact this for some.
- "Large Field" Layout: One review described the park as "a large field that has been cleared and has RV parking spots," with a lack of trees or privacy features between spaces, which contrasts with the "resort" branding and can impact the overall aesthetic and feel.
- Customer Service Concerns: A notable highlight (or lowlight) from recent feedback pertains to communication and customer service regarding reservations and cancellations. Challenges with unanswered calls, delayed reservation approvals, and a rigid cancellation fee policy, even after attempts to cancel before approval, have caused frustration for some potential guests.
- Appearance of Different Sections: Reviews suggest there might be an "older section" with more full-time campers and areas that are "in full sun" for transient sites, indicating varied experiences depending on site assignment.

It is recommended to try calling at various times or to utilize their online reservation system, keeping in mind the reported need for approval and cancellation policies. Direct communication remains the most reliable method for confirming current availability, amenities, and policies.
For Texans considering Spring Creek RV Resort in Tyler, it's important to weigh its offerings against personal expectations. If you're seeking a straightforward RV park with essential full hookups, laundry facilities, and convenient access to Tyler's amenities, it may serve your needs. The park's location offers a quiet country atmosphere that is still close enough to town for shopping, dining, and other services. This balance can be appealing for locals looking for a quick getaway or those who need a base for exploring East Texas.
However, it's crucial for prospective guests to manage their expectations regarding the "resort" aspect, particularly concerning features like the pool, which has been reported as inconsistently available, and the overall aesthetic of some areas lacking trees or privacy. Furthermore, recent customer experiences highlight challenges with customer service, particularly in reservation and cancellation processes. While a $10 cancellation fee for not canceling seven days in advance is a standard policy for some parks, the frustration stemmed from it being applied even after attempts to cancel prior to approval.
Therefore, for locals, Spring Creek RV Resort could be a suitable option if you prioritize basic, functional amenities and a quiet location over extensive resort-style features and are prepared for potential communication hurdles. It's always advisable to verify current conditions and policies directly with the park before making a commitment, especially for longer stays, to ensure it aligns with your specific needs and preferences for an RV experience in East Texas.

Spring Creek RV Resort Reviews
We were going to be driving through Tyler, Texas, and tried to give the campground a call to find out if they had any open spots. Nobody answered so we went on their website and the only way to find out if they had a spot was to actually try and make a Reservation. On the website, it said we had to wait for the campground to approve the request. We waited a couple of hours. Tried to call the campground again with no answer. Finally decided we were going to keep on driving and called and left a message to please not process our reservation request. An hour and a half later, I was notified that our reservation had been approved. When I called and talked to the owner, I told them I had left a message that we did not want the reservation and he said he could not cancel it until two days later. The owner gave me a call and said that he had canceled our reservation but we still had to pay $10 fee for not canceling seven days in advance!,. I told them I was not happy as I had told them before they approved our request that we did not want it because it had taken them so long to respond, but I was not gonna get upset about $10. The Man I was talking to said “OK” and hung up -no apology.
Mar 28, 2025 · Kirsten MillikenNot really a resort in anyway. Its a large field that has been cleared and has RV parking spots. No trees or anything in between spaces so limited privacy. The laundry facilities were good - clean and a good number of machines.Overall we wouldn't come back. We booked this for the pool and "resort" but the pool was closed for the 3 days we were onsite with no info online to advise of the closure. Kids were disappointed.
Nov 08, 2024 · Aleisha RutherfordLived here for several years and really enjoyed the spacious surroundings. This park is kept up so well. The people are friendly and it is really clean and quiet and peaceful. The laundry room needs a bit more tlc, but there are a few nicer laundromat's nearby that I used.
Sep 04, 2021 · C RThis park is amazing. It’s so clean and well-maintained. The manager will help you any way he can. The maintenance men are incredible and take care of a huge amount of grass, trees and roads. The pool is nice and clean. This park is safe and secure. On August 1, 2024, it will be a true gated community.
Jul 16, 2024 · Steven HarrisI would definitely recommend this park. It's one of the better parks we've stayed in. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful, especially the manager, Brian. The grounds are always kept maintained, pool is always clean, laundry room is great, sites are roomy-some with trees, some not and there's even a pond to fish in and tiny cabins to rent as well. I would consider it far enough out of town to feel safe but town is 10 mins away. The best part is prices are right. Highly recommend!
