Smokiam RV Resort Introduce
Smokiam RV Resort is a premier destination campground situated on the tranquil, mineral-rich shores of Soap Lake, Washington. This resort is celebrated as a unique, family-friendly oasis in the heart of Central Washington, offering a diverse array of accommodations and recreational facilities designed for both short-term vacations and extended stays. Soap Lake itself is a globally recognized mineral lake, often referred to as “nature's spa,” drawing visitors who seek to experience its legendary therapeutic waters.
The resort provides a wide range of camping options, from full hookup RV sites designed to accommodate large rigs to traditional tent sites and a variety of on-site rentals, including Cabin Rentals and unique Glamping Tents and Tipis. With roughly 300 days of sunshine annually, the resort's setting encourages outdoor fun and relaxation, all while providing essential modern comforts and convenient Onsite services.
Smokiam RV Resort is committed to offering a fun-filled environment, boasting amenities such as a swimming pool, hot tubs, miniature golf, a playground, and sport courts. The staff is consistently noted for providing great service and being happy and knowledgeable about the area. The resort is actively working through a period of revitalization, with new ownership and ongoing renovations aimed at upgrading the facilities, including the restrooms, shower areas, and the grounds.
While the resort features an extensive list of amenities, visitors should be aware that the park is currently undergoing improvements. Some shared facilities, such as the tennis and basketball courts, may be showing signs of wear and tear, and some common areas may need attention. Additionally, guests have noted that the enforcement of the Quiet hours are 10:00pm to 7:00am rule has been inconsistent at times.
Another important consideration is the status of Soap Lake itself. Due to fluctuating and currently low water levels, access to the lake can be challenging, often involving wading through sloppy mud or muck that makes launching boats difficult and detracts from the overall lakeside experience. The rumored "healing waters" of the lake, however, remain a central point of interest for many visitors.

### What is Worth Choosing Smokiam RV Resort
Smokiam RV Resort offers a stay that is fundamentally different from typical campgrounds in Washington. Its unique value proposition centers on the healing and unique properties of the surrounding Soap Lake combined with an unrivaled volume of on-site recreational amenities.
For the Washington resident or traveler looking for a warm, sunny getaway with an active resort feel, Smokiam's combination of a pool, hot tubs, sauna, mini golf, and court sports ensures there is always something to do, regardless of the water level in the lake. The variety of accommodation options—from full-service RV sites to cozy cabins and adventurous tipis—makes it a versatile choice for any kind of family or group. The staff's reputation for being friendly and helpful further contributes to a positive environment.
However, potential guests must set appropriate expectations: The resort is a diamond in the rough with incredible potential, actively working through a renovation period. While management is making visible efforts to upgrade the park, some facilities show their age, and past issues with the cleanliness of the shower and restroom facilities have been a significant concern raised by guests. Despite these challenges, the sheer number of activities, the accommodating staff, and the opportunity to experience the unique qualities of Soap Lake make Smokiam RV Resort a worthwhile and memorable option for a Central Washington vacation, provided visitors approach it with a balanced view of its present condition and promising future.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I have good things An bad things to say. First the good: great service, happy staff and knowledgeable about the area, the place has so much going on like swimming pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, playgrounds miniature golf basketball courts that’s combined with tennis courts and more. Now the bad: the place is great but the place needs work, it’s simply getting ran down. The golf course, the tennis And basketball court needs fixed roots from trees have big humps and the roads and a lot of the grass and the common areas need help they’re mostly dead. The staff did not enforce the rules of quiet time after 10 o’clock in anyway shape or form that I saw. Things usually did not calm down until after midnightBut the biggest problem is they don’t clean the bathroom enough, or good enough. We was there for a weekend and I never felt it got cleaned. Garbage cans full place smells of pea Black slimy mold around the shower area on the floor. I’m sure that will grow overtime.I will say the place has a lot of potential and can be jest as nice as in the brochure but it’s going to take time and effort.Unfortunately, there’s also things out of their control. The lake is way too low I’m sure it has hurt the economy of Soup Lake The waterfall in the brochures is gone, The water fall would have been nice but the lake was a big disappointment, makes it hard to get to without going through sloppy mud or muck that stinks and you can’t launch a boat or anything else without dragging it through all that, if the power to be that is keeping it low can see their way of racing it back up. It would help the economy, the town, I’m sure that It would definitely help this park. July 20 · Dondi Dias
- ❗️The bathrooms are very poorly cleaned, especially the women’s. Out of three sinks, only one works properly. There are constant issues with the toilets. Yesterday someone defecated in the middle of the bathroom and smeared feces on the walls and floor. It was impossible to enter — even with the door closed, the smell reached outside. In the morning I asked for it to be cleaned, and the cleaner just sprayed water over the mess. It should have been cleaned properly, with disinfectant materials, no pressure water, and the toilet should have been closed for at least an hour. Instead, she “cleaned” it in 10 minutes. No wonder women end up with UTIs and worse after such a “lovely” vacation at your resort!During the entire week I stayed, no one cleaned the shower cabins — not once.❗️A few years ago, the bathrooms were always clean and cleaned twice a day.Now no one watches over anything — guests do whatever they want, especially after 10 PM.So if you’re thinking about coming here — think twice July 18 · Tatiana Khl
- My family and I have been coming here for memorial weekend for the past 6 years. We have seen the roller coaster ride of mixed feelings of staying here. Usually when we come, we get a discount for booking a year in advance. We didn’t get that this year. Not only that we would only have to pay a deposit but “under new management” as they would say. We don’t offer discounts and you need to pay the full amount. The price of staying here keeps rising and I get that there is inflation but it is the most expensive campground we have stayed at. We saw more staff but i guess everyone was in training because often time the staff we spoke with would need to ask for assistance from someone else. From coming here for this current weekend under new management here is what I’ve gathered.ProsThey did fix their pool heaterKids corner for activitiesShop and cafe were niceLoved the ice creamThey have lots of options for outdoor activitiesElectrical outlets at each siteThe big open field by the poolPet friendlyConsTheir bathrooms should be cleaned more often. There was never any toilet paper in the bathroom. There are only 5 toilets if they were working for the women.Basketball court light didn’t work after darkBroken volleyball netOnly a movie night on Friday for the long weekendAdult hot tub wasn’t workingNot enough lawn chairs at the poolThe hot tub was down for Saturday morning but no sign for people not to use it. So people kept taking the cover off and going into it.Overall we do like coming here because there is something for the whole family. Do we get reminded of all the things that drive us crazy yes… May 30 · Trinh Nguyen
- This used to be our favorite resort, where my family and I have been coming for five years in a row. We always booked the same spot, and it was never changed. This year, when we arrived, they told us that because two families wanted to be together, they gave our spot to them and moved us right next to the bathroom. The smell from the bathroom was very strong. We asked them to move us back to our spot, but they refused, saying it was already taken by another family, and they completely ruined our vacation. They simply didn’t care. They treated their customers poorly, showed that they don’t value them, and just told us there was nothing they could do August 16 · Ireen Tibfoc
- We stayed in the T-pee on the water. The pool is NOT heated. Mini gold is free but run down and falling apart. Prices are good for what u pay for. Not very clean both rooms, peppery and beach lots of trash in water and beach is not a beach its mud and bird poop August 18 · Denice Felicita
