Skyline RV Camp Introduce
For many RV enthusiasts and travelers, the dream often involves wide-open spaces, serene natural landscapes, and the tranquility of the wilderness. However, for New Yorkers and those visiting the vibrant metropolitan area, finding a convenient and comfortable RV park that offers proximity to the city's iconic attractions can be a significant challenge. The typical image of an RV park rarely aligns with the bustling urban environment of New York City. Yet, a unique opportunity exists that allows you to combine the comforts of your RV with unparalleled access to one of the world's greatest cities. This urban oasis caters to those who seek adventure and exploration by day, and a peaceful, scenic retreat by night.
Enter Skyline RV Camp, a distinctive destination located in Brooklyn, NY, that truly lives up to its name. This isn't your average countryside campground; it's an urban RV experience designed for those who want to wake up to breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline. Imagine parking your RV by the East River, with the iconic skyscrapers of New York City shimmering across the water, providing a spectacular backdrop to your morning coffee or evening relaxation. Skyline RV Camp offers a unique proposition: a convenient base to explore all that New York City has to offer, from Broadway shows to world-class museums and diverse culinary scenes, while returning to the relative tranquility and personal space of your RV. It provides an ideal solution for locals looking for a unique staycation, or visitors seeking an alternative to traditional hotel accommodations, offering both practicality and truly memorable views that capture the essence of New York.
Skyline RV Camp boasts an exceptional and highly convenient location at 50 Noble St, Brooklyn, NY 11222, USA. This address places it squarely in Greenpoint, a vibrant and increasingly popular neighborhood in Brooklyn, directly on the East River. The strategic positioning of the camp is arguably its most significant asset, offering unparalleled accessibility for anyone looking to explore New York City.
The most striking aspect of the location is its "spectacular" views of the New York City skyline across the river. This provides a constant, breathtaking backdrop for campers and creates a serene atmosphere, allowing for a "very relaxing and serene" experience despite being in the heart of an urban area. Being "by the river" offers a sense of tranquility that is rare for an RV park in such a densely populated region.
For accessing Manhattan and other boroughs, Skyline RV Camp's location is "very convenient." RV travelers have multiple efficient options:
- Ferry Access: The East River Ferry (NYC Ferry) has a stop nearby in Greenpoint, offering a scenic and quick way to reach Manhattan (East 34th Street, Wall Street) and other Brooklyn/Queens neighborhoods. This provides a delightful alternative to subway travel, allowing visitors to enjoy the city from the water.
- Subway Access: The G train, which connects to various other subway lines, is accessible within walking distance. This makes it easy to navigate the extensive New York City subway system and reach virtually any destination within the five boroughs, including all major tourist attractions in Manhattan.
- Walking and Biking: The camp is situated in a neighborhood that is highly walkable. Guests can "walk to local shops and eateries in Brooklyn," allowing for easy exploration of Greenpoint's trendy boutiques, diverse restaurants, and vibrant street life. The area is also conducive to biking, with waterfront paths and street networks for cyclists.
- Road Access: While the immediate entry to the park is noted as "bumpy" and in need of repaving, the overall access to major Brooklyn thoroughfares and bridges is straightforward, allowing for vehicle travel when desired.
This combination of stunning views, immediate access to diverse public transportation, and the ability to explore a lively Brooklyn neighborhood on foot truly makes Skyline RV Camp a prime and highly accessible location for RV travelers to experience New York City.
Skyline RV Camp aims to provide a functional and scenic urban RV camping experience in Brooklyn, focusing on essential services that cater to RV travelers. While the camp's primary appeal is its location and views, it offers core amenities to ensure a practical stay.
Services and amenities typically offered include:
- RV Sites: The camp provides dedicated spaces for RV parking. While reviews indicate that full sewer hookups are not available directly at individual RV lots, it is implied there are spots for RV parking.
- Water Point: The park has a water point available for customers to fill their RV water tanks. However, a review suggests this could be improved for easier access (e.g., a dedicated pull-through water point rather than a hose hookup).
- Dump Station: A dumping service is available for RV waste. One review suggests automatic inclusion for stays over two days, indicating this is a provided service.
- Restrooms: Bathroom facilities are available on-site. However, multiple reviews strongly emphasize that the "bathroom is disgusting" and "wouldn't take much to fix it" with daily cleaning. This indicates the facility exists but its cleanliness is a major point of concern.
- Showers: The camp provides showers for guests. A review notes that "the shower is excellent," despite issues with overall bathroom cleanliness. This suggests functional and good quality shower fixtures.
- Electric Hookups: RV sites generally include electric hookups for power, an essential service for RV users.
- Camping Benches/Picnic Tables: Reviews mention "a few camping benches" which, if arranged better, could enhance the usability of the sites for outdoor seating and dining.
- Security Access (Manual Gate): The park has a gate for access. However, a review points out that access requires calling the camp host or getting out to open it, suggesting a manual system that could be improved with a security code.
- Camp Host: A camp host is present on site to manage operations and assist guests. However, a review suggests the host's RV occupies a prime view spot that paying customers should ideally have.
It is crucial for prospective campers to consider the feedback regarding bathroom cleanliness. While the fundamental services for RVs (power, water fill, dump station, showers) are present, the quality of maintenance for shared facilities appears to be a significant concern for previous guests. The camp's strength lies more in its location and views than in its amenity upkeep, based on current public reviews.
Skyline RV Camp, despite some operational feedback, offers several unique features and highlights that make it a compelling and memorable option for RV enthusiasts visiting or living in the New York City area. Its distinct advantages primarily revolve around its extraordinary location and the unparalleled access it provides.
Key Features and Highlights:
- Spectacular NYC Skyline Views: This is undoubtedly the crowning jewel of Skyline RV Camp. Guests have direct, unobstructed views of the iconic Manhattan skyline, including prominent landmarks, across the East River. Reviewers consistently praise these views as "spectacular" and describe the location as "very relaxing and serene" due to the riverfront setting. This provides an unparalleled backdrop for an urban camping experience.
- Prime Urban Location in Brooklyn: Situated in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the camp offers a unique opportunity to experience New York City without sacrificing the comfort of an RV. This neighborhood is known for its vibrant atmosphere, trendy shops, and diverse eateries, all within walking distance, allowing campers to easily immerse themselves in local Brooklyn culture.
- Exceptional Accessibility to Manhattan: The convenience of reaching Manhattan is a major highlight. Campers can choose between a scenic ferry ride across the East River (NYC Ferry) or quick access to the subway (G train connecting to other lines), making sightseeing, Broadway shows, and city exploration effortless. This convenience is a significant draw for tourists and locals alike.
- Proximity to Local Shops and Eateries: The ability to "walk to local shops and eateries in Brooklyn" is a distinct advantage. Guests can easily explore Greenpoint's culinary scene, grab groceries, or visit local boutiques without needing to drive, enhancing the overall experience of staying in a dynamic urban neighborhood.
- Unique Urban Camping Experience: For those tired of traditional campgrounds, Skyline RV Camp offers a truly different kind of outdoor adventure. It blends the personal space and amenities of an RV with the excitement and accessibility of a major metropolis, creating a hybrid travel experience unlike any other.
- Plenty of Space: A review notes that "There's plenty of space," suggesting that individual RV sites offer adequate room, which can be a premium in urban settings.
- Functional Shower Facilities: Despite overall cleanliness concerns in the bathrooms, one reviewer specifically highlighted that "the shower is excellent," indicating that the shower infrastructure itself is of good quality.
While potential areas for improvement (like gate access, road conditions, and bathroom cleanliness) are noted in reviews, the core highlights of the camp – its location, views, and accessibility – undeniably make it a standout choice for RV travelers prioritizing a unique and convenient New York City experience.
Specific promotions or special offers for Skyline RV Camp are not publicly advertised in general information sources. RV parks, especially those in unique urban locations, typically manage their pricing based on demand, seasonality, and the type of hookups or views offered. Therefore, any promotions would be dynamic and communicated directly by the camp management.
However, typical types of offers or considerations that might influence pricing or value at an RV park like Skyline RV Camp include:
- Seasonal Rates: Prices are almost certainly higher during peak season (summer, holidays) when demand for NYC-accessible RV spots is at its highest. Lower rates might be available during the shoulder seasons (spring, fall) or in the winter, offering a potential "promotion" through off-peak savings.
- Extended Stay Discounts: Some RV parks offer reduced daily or weekly rates for longer consecutive stays (e.g., weekly or monthly bookings). This encourages longer-term visitors and can provide better value.
- Booking Platform Deals: Occasionally, third-party booking platforms (if Skyline RV Camp uses any beyond direct bookings) might run their own short-term promotions, though this is less common for independent parks.
Given the specific feedback from reviews (e.g., about pricing relative to bathroom cleanliness), it is especially important for prospective campers to directly inquire about current rates and what they include.

- Clarify Amenities: It's advisable to clarify the current status of amenities, such as bathroom cleanliness or specific hookup availability, to manage expectations.

Skyline RV Camp Reviews
Camp host need to move his RV to the back of the camp site - he should not have the best views - that should be for the paying customers. The gate need to have a security code for the customers to key in the code for access to the park. This will eliminate the calling, having the camp host open, or having the customer get out of their vehicle to open the gate.Repave the entry access and the parking lot to the park. In order to have an easier ride (really bumpy) into the park and beautify the aesthetic of the parking lot.Need to have dedicated water point for customers to fill water tanks. It would be easier, if the RV's could pull into a water point; instead of having a hose hookup and moving your RV.Any customers staying over two days should have at least one dumping service added on to their bill automatically. Especially, since there are no sewer dumping on the RV lot.The views are spectacular! Nice location by the river; very relaxing and serene! Very convenient location to the New York City; either by ferry or subway! Can walk to to local shops and eateries in Brooklyn. My rating is actually a 4.5 stars; however, the system, does allow for adding the additional .5 star rating! Wonderful stay, would return again!
May 10, 2025 · Marty McGregorThe place isn’t bad — the structure is actually good! There’s plenty of space, and there are a few camping benches that I hope will be arranged better so the place doesn’t look so abandoned. The only thing I really don’t understand is: with so many bad reviews about the bathroom cleanliness, why hasn’t that changed?Man, the bathroom is disgusting, and it wouldn’t take much to fix it. If someone just came by once a day to clean, it would already be so much better. The overall structure is solid — the shower is excellent, but everything else is just gross. If the price were lower, we might understand a bathroom in that condition. But with the amount we paid, there’s no excuse — they could definitely hire someone to take care of it.
Jun 17, 2025 · Cíntia PiresThe host was very kind and easy to work with! I appreciated that. It’s very easy to get across to NY city from here. You can use the ferry or subway. Very close to many places to eat and shop! It’s a tight fit getting in and out of the parking lot but I was able to do it with my 30ft class C. We are a family of 4 and I never felt unsafe in this location. Did not see any rats as mentioned before. Thank you!
Mar 24, 2025 · Dusti CollinsWould leave a five-star review except for the bathrooms, we were here for several days before any of them were cleaned and the smell was not exactly pleasant. On the plus side the location is great, the view is amazing, and the camp host is attentive and helpful. It's basically a parking lot right in a busy area of Greenpoint, Brooklyn with lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, etc. nearby but tucked just far enough away to be quiet.
Jun 01, 2025 · The Beetle's DilemmaThis was perfect for us. The views were spectacular and the location was great - convenient to public transportation, cafes, and restaurants. (I highly recommend paying extra for the waterfront view. I cannot comment on the other location.)It is a parking lot attached to a warehouse of some type along the river in a city. Don’t expect a “polished” fancy rv park. We were traveling in our van and did not need sewer or water hookup - just electricity. We found the bathroom facilities to be well maintained. We did not use the showers. (The showers were porta potty containers but made into showers. I’m not sure how you would shower and change into dry clothes in there. They are not in the bathrooms but out in an open area. Fortunately, we had another location to shower at. I saw others use them - men/boys in swim trunks and then went into the bathroom area to change.)The location was surprisingly quiet. WeEnjoyed sipping our morning coffee and watching the commuter boats. In the evening, the sunsets were incredible. The location felt safe. The host was friendly and attentive.I felt the rate was reasonable and can’t wait for our next trip to visit our son so we can stay here again!I would give it 4.5 stars.
