Silverton Lakes RV Park and Cabins Introduce
For those seeking the quintessential Colorado mountain getaway, Silverton Lakes RV Park and Cabins stands out as a prime destination. Nestled high in the rugged, majestic San Juan Mountains at an elevation of over 9,300 feet, this veteran-owned and women-owned establishment provides a perfect blend of rustic convenience and breathtaking natural beauty. It serves as an ideal basecamp for explorers, adventurers, and anyone looking to unplug and immerse themselves in the high-alpine environment of Southwest Colorado. The park's commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere is evident, identifying as LGBTQ+ friendly and focusing on providing a clean, easy, and memorable experience for all guests.
Whether you’re arriving in a large RV, pitching a tent along the picturesque Animas River, or settling into one of their comfortable camping cabins, Silverton Lakes RV Park offers various lodging options to suit your travel style. The experience is centered around adventure and relaxation—from direct access to some of the region's best OHV and hiking trails to clean, updated facilities designed for comfort after a long day of mountain exploration. Guests frequently praise the tranquility and the unparalleled scenic views that surround the property, making it a truly restorative retreat in the heart of the Rockies.
The unique setting offers a different pace of life, encouraging guests to reconnect with the outdoors. While some on-site amenities are available, the focus is intentionally placed on the natural environment. The remote mountain location means cell service may be limited, and guest Wi-Fi, while available in select areas, is not designed for streaming. This intentional remoteness helps visitors truly experience the rugged setting of the San Juan Mountains and disconnect from the digital world.
### Location and Accessibility
Silverton Lakes RV Park and Cabins is conveniently located at 2100 Kendall Pl, Silverton, CO 81433, USA. Silverton itself is a historic mining town that acts as a gateway to the spectacular San Juan Skyway and the famous Alpine Loop Backcountry Byway, one of Colorado's most popular 4x4 routes.
Accessibility is a key advantage of this park. One of its most valued features is the direct trail access right from the main park property. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We rented a cabin and loved it. The location is perfect. Views are amazing. The bathrooms and showers have been updated and were always clean. It’s an easy walk into town. You can rent side-by-sides or Jeeps on site, which is super nice. Would definitely stay here again.
August 10 · Jeremy NewtonI stayed here for a little under a week in my travel trailer and really enjoyed it! I was in the South lot, which made it super easy to just walk into town. The park was quiet, clean, and had everything I needed. The laundry and bathroom areas were especially nice and very clean. Overall, it was such a relaxing and easy place to stay. I’m already planning a trip back out for next year 😊
August 25 · Lauren DiBenedettoWe recently stayed at the RV campground. It was so much fun staying there. The campground is so clean and well taken care of. Our site had a covered patio that we loved and used every evening to relax on. We weren’t able to have a fire on it because of the current fire condition in the area but still loved relaxing on the very comfortable patio furniture. The staff was very friendly and helpful getting us into our campsite and answering our questions. We will definitely be going back.
August 20 · Cassie ClarkPerfect Summer Getaway!I visited Silverton Lakes RV Park Campground in July and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The weather was perfect—cool, crisp mornings and sunny afternoons made for ideal outdoor adventures. What truly made my stay exceptional, though, was the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure guests were comfortable and had everything they needed. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a great experience. The campground was clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable RV camping trip in Colorado. I can’t wait to come back!
July 19 · Katie WeissPros: Location is so beautiful! Our campsite was #1 at the edge of the campground with a lovely view. Other sites appeared more crowded and close together, although it appeared that the long term folks were all in one place. We stayed 4 nights, and found many things to do. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, always. There were ample bathrooms and showers and they were spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day. Water pressure was great and there was plenty of good hot water. Laundry facility was clean and reasonable and there were games available to borrow for rainy afternoons. Town was great fun with good places to eat. Jeep rides out of Silverton provide incredible views.Cons: Expensive, with no cancellation policy. We would have forfeited over $400 if we had to change plans. The sites are poorly defined with a strange mix of rocks seemingly from the creek bed. Very difficult to walk on as they were a mix of sizes and not all rounded. Weeds are growing into the rock, giving it a messy, undefined look.
