Silverton Estates Introduce
For many Indiana residents seeking a community-focused and potentially more affordable housing solution, manufactured home communities, often known as mobile home parks, present a viable option. Silverton Estates, located in Monroeville, Indiana, is one such community that caters to individuals and families looking for a place to call home within Allen County. These communities offer a unique blend of homeownership (of the manufactured home itself) with a managed neighborhood environment.
The decision to choose a manufactured home community involves considering various factors, from location and amenities to management responsiveness and resident experiences. For Indiana locals exploring housing opportunities in the Monroeville area, understanding the specific characteristics of Silverton Estates is essential to determine if it aligns with their needs and expectations for a comfortable and well-managed living space.
Reviews for Silverton Estates provide crucial insights, highlighting both recent improvements and ongoing challenges. One resident's update enthusiastically states: "Update!!!! I changed this to 5 stars. Thanks to Dustin, the community has improved a ton! New lights, dying tree gone, updated a cleaner looking facilities, not to mention concerns and complaints are handled ASAP. Much better in the year I’ve lived here 😊" This positive feedback suggests significant recent improvements in community upkeep and management responsiveness, creating a more pleasant living environment. The mention of "new lights, dying tree gone, updated a cleaner looking facilities" points to visible efforts in property maintenance, and "concerns and complaints are handled ASAP" indicates a positive shift in resident support.
However, other reviews detail concerning issues. One consistent problem reported is with maintenance: "The maintenance men need to pick up their screws been at their twice and their have been screws left which have caused to plug at a tire twice now and they don't pick up old appliances laying out when their our kids out their that live out their." This specific concern about discarded materials, particularly screws causing tire damage and old appliances posing hazards to children, is significant. While the positive update indicates improvements, this is a point for potential residents to verify.
Perhaps the most critical issues highlighted revolve around communication and payment processing with management: "The company seemed great at first impression. Questions were answered quickly and things seemed smooth…until they receive my deposit. After that, communication with the community manager has been dismal. If she gets back to me, it is after much nagging and literally driving across town to show up at her office. The other gal working in the office gives conflicting information to the community manager and to what our lease agreement states. The lease stated we must pay with money order, which we did. Just for the payment not be reflected in their portal. When we showed up to the community manager’s office, the other gal working there said they do not accept check or money order, even though the lease states otherwise. When we stated we didn’t know that she said, “nobody showed you how to pay for rent?” NOPE! When we finally get on the portal, none of our prior payments had been reflected. Then when we tried to make the correct payment, THEY REJECTED THE PAYMENT for “not being the full amount due” So now we are back to waiting on this community manager that rarely answers any communications but gives endless promises of “sorting it out” My experience since giving them any money has been a nightmare. If you have other options, pick those and steer clear of this convoluted community management company and absent community manager." This extensively detailed review points to severe operational issues including:
- Lack of consistent and reliable communication from management.
- Conflicting information given by different staff members.
- Major problems with rent payment processing, including payments not being reflected and electronic payments being rejected, despite following lease terms.
- A frustrating and unresponsive experience once a deposit is paid.
Given these varied accounts, prospective residents should be encouraged by the positive maintenance update but proceed with extreme caution regarding administrative and payment processes. It is vital to:
- Confirm current management protocols and the specific individual(s) responsible for resident support.
- Get all terms, especially payment methods and policies, clearly in writing and documented before committing.
- Maintain meticulous records of all payments and communications.
- Understand Indiana tenant rights regarding rent payments and utility services.

Dec 12, 2023 · Courtney BakerHad heating/cooling issues for most of my lease. But this last time when I called in about my heat not working properly they had maintenance at my house within 20 min after the phone call (before office hours) to make sure they got it fixed properly so my son and I wouldn’t be cold during the freezing temperatures! So thank you!(:
Mar 05, 2023 · Ally MurphyWe have lived here a total of 4 years now and yes not much has been done to improve it but amy cox did her best to get things cleaned up. they recently changed owners who is vineyards property Management... They have no maintenance crew, the manager is unreachable, they haven't mowed the vacant lots yet this year and they are all about 6 inches tall, they just installed all new water meters so they can charge us more for water and yet they raised the lot rent $25... The community itself as far as people who live here all stick together and watch out for each other... Overall we don't mind living here just hope the new owners put some effort into it and not just sit back and collect money from us!
May 11, 2022 · Melinda FluttrowMy application was recieved. I was given a tour of the place. Was told there was central air, which worked perfectly as I was moving in the middle of August with young kids however after I moved in found out that was incorrect. I did not have central air. I finally got my keys but felt like I had to continually hound for keys and information to get moved in and to get the portal to pay my rent. The communication isn't the greatest but once I got in and got settled it's been a smooth process and haven't had any issues since.
