Shields RV Military Park is a highly regarded FamCamp (Family Campground) located on the Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport in Mississippi. It operates as a recreational lodging facility primarily for active duty military, reservists, retired military personnel, 100% disabled veterans, and in some cases, authorized Department of Defense (DoD) civilians and sponsored guests. The park is renowned for offering a comfortable and secure environment, making it a popular choice for those eligible to stay.
The park is designed with RVers in mind, providing ample space and essential hookups to ensure a hassle-free stay. What sets Shields RV Military Park apart is its location on an active military base, which grants residents access to a wide array of on-base facilities not typically found at commercial RV parks. This includes conveniences like a commissary for groceries, an Exchange for retail needs, and potentially other recreational services, significantly enhancing the value and convenience for guests.
Furthermore, the park maintains a high standard of cleanliness and accessibility, with amenities like well-kept bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. The management and staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. For those who meet the eligibility requirements, Shields RV Military Park offers a unique blend of coastal recreation and military community benefits.

Feb 03, 2024 · TodayIsOurAdventureStill here. Great place. Clean and quiet. 😊 we come every year. Many thanks to the staff for making this a wonderful place to bee.
Mar 30, 2025 · Stacey BolinFor those of you that like trees, front park is what I call parking lot camping. Sites were concrete & not tight at all, some active duty living here. Its also quite noisy. We took a drive to the back famcamp & if we come again, that's where we'd stay. It's quiet, surrounded by trees but sites are a bit shorter. They say nothing over 40 ft but there were big class A's & large 5th wheels in back, however you have to park your truck sideways. Small base & Commissary closed on Mondays except Monday before Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
