Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Introduce
For many Utah residents, finding an affordable path to homeownership without moving far from the center of action is a primary goal. Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park, situated in a highly desirable area of Salt Lake City, offers a compelling solution. This established, all-ages community provides a foundation for comfortable, spacious, and affordable manufactured home living, right in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley.
Sherwood Forest focuses on providing residents with the genuine feel of homeownership—complete with a private yard and driveway—within a structured community setting. This mobile home park is an excellent option for individuals and families looking to save money compared to traditional housing markets while retaining quick access to the capital city’s key hubs. The area is known for being a vibrant part of West Salt Lake City, near the Poplar Grove neighborhood, offering a convenient urban-suburban mix.
The core philosophy of Sherwood Forest is to offer a supportive place where residents can take pride in their homes and enjoy a stable community atmosphere. Homeownership in a manufactured home park like this is often highlighted as a smart financial move, allowing Utah locals to build equity and stop putting money toward rent. While every community has its challenges, the opportunity for affordable housing in such a centralized location makes Sherwood Forest a place worth investigating for those seeking stability and convenience in Salt Lake City.
One of the greatest assets of Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park is its exceptionally central location at 1594 400 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84104, USA. This address places the community in a strategic position that maximizes convenience for work, school, and leisure across the Wasatch Front. Being in the 84104 zip code means residents are integrated into the lifeblood of Salt Lake City.
For the daily Utah commuter, the location offers highly efficient access to the freeway system. The park is situated to provide quick entry to major freeways, connecting residents rapidly to I-80, which runs east-west, and I-15, the major north-south corridor. This makes commuting a simpler endeavor, whether heading north to Ogden or south toward Provo.
Key transit and distance points include:
- Downtown Salt Lake City: The community is situated less than two miles from the city's center, allowing for quick travel to downtown offices, shopping, and entertainment.
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC): Travel time to the airport is remarkably fast, estimated at approximately 8-9 minutes, a significant benefit for both frequent travelers and those working at the airport.
- University Access: Students and faculty have a reasonable drive time of about 13-14 minutes to major institutions like the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College.
- Public Transit: The area offers "Some Transit" options and is near key rail stops, including the North Temple Station, and other major TRAX and Commuter Rail access points.
As a professional mobile home park, Sherwood Forest Mobile Home provides the necessary infrastructure and management to support comfortable manufactured home living. While the park is clearly defined as a mobile home park, providing lots for home placement, the overall experience is shaped by the services provided by the park management team. Key operational services and policies include:
- On-site Management: Having dedicated management available to address community issues, process payments, and oversee the general upkeep of the property.
- Lot Rental: Providing maintained land lots for manufactured homes, offering a more affordable housing structure than purchasing land and a traditional home.
- Accessibility Features: Offering a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot, demonstrating a commitment to accommodating all members of the community and visitors.
- Community Upgrades: Management has expressed a focus on improving the property through attractive upgrades and road improvements to enhance the living environment.
However, it is worth noting that reviews from current and former residents highlight areas where service consistency could be improved, particularly regarding communication, timely deposit returns, and essential winter maintenance like plowing and salting common areas. Prospective residents should inquire directly with the office about the current standards and procedures for these key maintenance and administrative services.
Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park’s appeal lies in its combination of residential space and shared community amenities, providing residents with both privacy and opportunities for recreation. It is known as an all-ages community, which is ideal for families and individuals alike, fostering a diverse neighborhood.
The following are the key features and highlights intended for the community:
- Community Swimming Pool: A feature provided for residents to enjoy and cool off during the hot Utah summer months, although residents have noted this amenity is sometimes rarely open.
- Family and Pet-Friendly: Welcoming residents of all ages and their pets, supporting a well-rounded and inclusive community atmosphere.
- Nicely Manicured Lawns: Management emphasizes the maintenance of attractive landscaping to create a pleasant curb appeal throughout the property.
- Designated Parking: Each lot generally includes a driveway or covered parking (as seen with home resales), providing convenient off-street parking for residents.
- Proximity to Parks and Recreation: The park is just a short drive from beloved local spots like the International Peace Gardens and Poplar Grove Park, offering ample outdoor leisure opportunities.
Furthermore, recent listings suggest planned or future additions, which could enhance the community's recreational offerings, such as a basketball court and a playground. These additions signal an ongoing investment in making the park a more enriching environment for its residents.

September 14 · Patricia VelozChanging from 5 stars to 1. The people that live in the community are great never any problems. But management could be better. They don't upkeep in the winter never plow or even salt. They have raised the lot rent 3 times in the last 2 years. In the summer they offer a pool but seems to never be open or very rarely open. No one is ever in the office when you have something to discuss with them. You and your guests can't park overnight in the overflow parking they would rather have you park out of the community on the street. Very disappointed with the management..
February 05 · Camille MunozI've spent my entire life growing up in Sherwood park and its always been home..Love the pool in the summer and and the club house its great to rent out for small gatherings..Have fond memories of walking my neighbors around the park and now my own grandmother..Sherwood will always be home..Great place to raise a family..
February 02 · Natasha EdwardsThe Visitor Parking lot is in the center of the trailer park with a Rec Club and Pool area attached to it. Surrounding those is a oval of single and double wide mobile homes, then the main road of the park, followed by another row of trailers. All surrounded by a fence. The entrance is located on the south. Be careful about driving threw this park, not only are there children at play, but there are some pretty jarring speed bumps as well.I grew up in the Sherwood Forest trailer park with my father and grandparents, and my grandparents still live there, so I have continued to visit them.I can definitely say that Sherwood Forest was probably the most memorable neighborhood I've lived in. The people in the park are great. It has always been a quite peaceful area to live, and as a child I never felt scared or afraid while I was there. That is actually pretty uncommon for that part of Salt Lake City. There a a few area's around it that can be pretty dangerous, especially if you do not know the area.Which makes Sherwood Forest Trailer Park's stand out that much more of a blessing to live and play!
January 15 · Joshua GreenwellI suggest you read every word in the owners agreement before you decide to move into his property. If you allow him to take advantage of you, he will. It seems like the man has little compassion for the residents in his property. The man is about his business. Be careful.
