Seabreeze RV Resort (Military Campground) Introduce
For eligible service members, veterans, and their families in California, finding an ideal RV destination that combines security, amenities, and a prime location can be a significant advantage. Seabreeze RV Resort, situated on the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach, stands as a hidden gem offering just that. This military campground provides a unique opportunity to experience coastal Southern California living in a well-maintained and secure environment. Unlike public RV parks, Seabreeze offers a distinctive experience tailored to those with military affiliation, blending convenience with a tranquil setting.
RV travel has long been a popular way for Californians to explore their vast and varied state, from its stunning coastlines to its majestic mountains. For military families, the network of military campgrounds across the nation provides not only a sense of familiarity and camaraderie but often more affordable options compared to civilian alternatives. Seabreeze RV Resort in Seal Beach exemplifies this, offering a comfortable and welcoming base from which to explore the myriad attractions of Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Its unique location within a naval installation adds a layer of security and a quiet atmosphere that many appreciate.
Understanding the specific requirements for access and the unique nature of a military campground is key to planning a successful stay at Seabreeze RV Resort. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview for California's military community, detailing the park's location and accessibility, the services and features that enhance the guest experience, and why it's an excellent choice for a leisurely stay or as a launching point for Southern California adventures.
Location and Accessibility
Seabreeze RV Resort is strategically located on Chapel Dr, Seal Beach, CA 90740, USA, within the confines of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station. This placement offers a unique benefit of heightened security and a quiet environment, largely isolated from the general public. However, it's crucial to note that access to Seabreeze RV Resort is restricted to individuals with valid military identification, including active duty personnel, retirees, reservists, and often veterans with service-connected disabilities (specific eligibility should always be verified with the base).
Entering the Naval Weapons Station requires adherence to base entry procedures, which may include vehicle inspections (trailers included, as noted by past visitors) and ID verification. While this adds a step to entry, it contributes directly to the secure and peaceful atmosphere within the park. Reviews mention that gate hours and entry points can vary, with different gates (e.g., Westminster, Main Gate on Seal Beach Blvd) having specific operating times. It is highly advisable for visitors to confirm the most current gate schedules and entry protocols directly with the RV park or base security prior to arrival to ensure a smooth check-in process, especially when arriving with a large RV.
Despite being on a military installation, the resort's location in Seal Beach offers excellent accessibility to numerous Southern California attractions. It's nestled between the major hubs of Long Beach and Huntington Beach, putting destinations like the Seal Beach Pier, Long Beach Harbor, and the broader Los Angeles area within convenient driving distance. Iconic theme parks like Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are also easily accessible, making Seabreeze an ideal base for family vacations or exploring the diverse entertainment options that California has to offer.

Seabreeze RV Resort (Military Campground) Reviews
Being our first time here, we were very pleasantly surprised to see how well maintained this park is....then we realized how cool the Nature Reserve is that covers one side of the park. There is a field and trees where the Great Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets live. These large birds and their babies were flying frequently to and from their 3' diameter nests in the trees right next to our RV. Besides the park, there are plenty of nearby places to visit like Seal Beach Pier, Long Beach Harbor, and LA. There is no NEX or Commissary; however, there is a Mini Mart and a nice Laundry room available.
Jun 04, 2025 · Bryan SymonsIt's your typical military base RV park. Well kept and spacious with basic amenities. Obviously safe and secure since you're on base but then you have the hassle of dealing with gate entry procedures every time you want to go somewhere. And it seems like they open/close gates randomly so understand there are two entrances and exits to this part of the base where the park is. This was our first stay at a Naval installation (we typically stay at Air Force bases) so we were caught off guard when they wanted to inspect the interior of our trailer before bringing it on base, so that's another thing to be prepared for. Other than that, its a great option for the area. Prices are high when compared to other installations but fair when compared to anything else in that area of California.
Apr 23, 2025 · Brian PrattIn the past we liked this park. That has changed. They now allow full time, But treat you like crap, and charge you $1900 a month for the privilege. They now STRICTLY enforce the 2 vehicle policy and unlike the past this now includes motorcycles. Prior to this summer they didn't count motorcycles towards your vehicle limit as long as they fit on the pad, this has changed and they will give you violations. Sadly my husband and I both ride, but only 1 of us gets to have the motorcycle at the campsite. (They do have over flow parking about 2/3 mile away)Boats, kayaks and water toys are not allowed and again violations are given if you have them on the pad.Tents are not allowed"Grass" is poorly maintained. Some sites are muddy marshes, some are pooky weedy patches, others are full of squirrel holes to the point of being dangerous to walk on.Playground is unsafeBlack widows and unmitigated rodent populations infest the place (seriously the mice and rabbits are out of control and poop on everything outside.) and this summer squirrels ate the wires in 3 different cars resulting in thousands in damagesFrankly this place takes the fun out of RECREATION .On a positive note-The laundry is free-They have free ice (that comes with a free bug or two.... seriously do they EVER clean the machine?)-Cement pads-Good working hookups-The base has some good ammeties-Location is greatThis place is fine for short term RV stays as long as you don't bring your motorcycles, kayaks and tents.
Apr 22, 2025 · MindyBRING YOUR BIKE! This place is AWESOME and lovely! It’s a military spot, so only military folks (active duty, retirees, disabled vets, DoD civilians) can stay here. There are armed gate guards. There are so many things to see off base. Note: there is no base exchange or commissary, although there is a very, VERY small shoppette. No gas station on base, either. Beautiful views all around, long, spacious concrete pads with concrete parking for a tow vehicle. Plenty of trails for biking and walking. We biked the Pacific Coast highway for 26 miles. I LOVE that CA has dedicated bike lanes everywhere! We biked all over: Huntington Beach (where there’s a large Rad Bicycle center that you test ride, rent, and purchase RAD ebikes and accessories and get your bike serviced), Seal Beach, Long Beach, and other adjacent towns. Less than an hour to L.A., too! The weather during our visit was sunny and never got above 78 degrees. Highly recommend this very clean and well-maintained Rv park!
Aug 09, 2023 · Jan JanSpent an entire month here (DEC/JAN). Really nice and clean RV park. Free laundry, ice, big leveled concrete pads with a dedicated spot to park your tow vehicle, and each site has a picnic table. Pull through and back in sites. RV wash available. Camp host (Travis) was extremely helpful throughout out stay. A ton of attraction from Disney land to Huntington beach. I would definitely recommend renting a car if your truck is a dually. Going into LA with a dually and even around Seal Beach was kind of a pain. Doable, but a pain. The park is 64 dollars a night (FHU). Compared to private RV park, this is pretty decent price and the added safety of being on a base is nice as well. One down fall is no dog park, but not a show stopper for us.
