Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park is exceptionally well-located at the intersection of Brommer St. & 7th Avenue, specifically in the North Harbor area of Santa Cruz, CA 95062, USA. For GPS purposes, 555 Brommer Street can be used to reach the general vicinity, as there isn't an exact street address for the park itself. This prime location is arguably the RV park's strongest feature, offering unparalleled access to Santa Cruz's most beloved attractions.
Situated directly on the harbor, guests have immediate access to the scenic marina, where they can enjoy watching boats, birds, and even harbor seals. Extensive walking trails completely surround the harbor, providing pleasant opportunities for strolls and exercise right from your RV site. Seabright State Beach and Twin Lakes State Beach are within easy walking distance, allowing for effortless enjoyment of the California coastline.

For those looking to explore further afield, major roadways are conveniently nearby, connecting guests to the wider Monterey Bay area. Destinations like Capitola, Monterey, and the scenic beauty of the redwood forests are all within a reasonable driving distance. While traffic in and out of the harbor can be constant, the sheer convenience of being able to walk or bike to so many attractions significantly outweighs this for many visitors. Full Hookup RV Sites: Each RV site at Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park is equipped with full hookups, including water, sewer, and electrical connections (both 30-amp and 50-amp service are available). This ensures that self-contained RVs have all necessary utilities for a comfortable stay.
Self-Contained RV Requirement: The park exclusively allows self-contained RVs. This means vehicles must have permanent working plumbing fixtures, flushable toilets, and completely sealed, permanently affixed fresh, gray, and black water tanks. Porta-potties, cassette toilets, and portable holding tanks are not permitted.
RV Park Host: An RV park host is generally available for initial registration and to provide information. They are the primary point of contact for guests during their stay, particularly for check-ins and general inquiries. Guests are advised not to contact the host outside of designated hours (e.g., after 9:00 p.m. or before 9:00 a.m.).
Online Reservation System: Reservations for the RV park are accepted exclusively online, with full payment due at the time of booking. Reservations can be made up to six months (180 days) in advance of the scheduled arrival date. Phone or email reservations are generally not accepted.
Pet-Friendly Policy: Dogs are welcome at the park but must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for controlling dog barking and cleaning up after their animals, maintaining a pleasant environment for all residents.
Parking Permits for Additional Vehicles: Permits are required for additional vehicles or the use of other parking spaces beyond the designated RV site. These permits can be obtained from the park host or at the harbor office, with fees varying based on the permit type.
Prime Harbor-Front Location: The most significant highlight is its direct location on the Santa Cruz Harbor, offering views of boats and access to marine wildlife observation (birds, harbor seals). This unparalleled setting provides a unique coastal experience.
Excellent Accessibility to Local Attractions: Guests can easily walk or bike to numerous popular Santa Cruz destinations, including Seabright State Beach, Twin Lakes State Beach, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and the lively harbor area with its restaurants and shops. This reduces reliance on vehicles and enhances the exploration experience.
Walking Trails: An extensive network of walking trails surrounds the harbor, providing ample opportunities for leisurely strolls, bird watching, and enjoying the scenic waterfront directly from the park.
Full Hookups Available: All sites offer comprehensive hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electricity), ensuring that self-contained RVs have all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
"Base Camp" for Exploration: The park is widely considered an excellent "base camp" for exploring Santa Cruz and the surrounding areas, especially for those who plan to be out and about utilizing their RV primarily as a convenient place to sleep and connect utilities.
Proximity to Dining: Several restaurants and a small market are within walking distance along the south side of the harbor, offering convenient dining options.
Limited Amenities by Design: While some may view the lack of traditional RV park amenities (like bathrooms/showers, clubhouse, laundry facilities) as a drawback, for self-contained RVers who prefer to use their own facilities, this design focuses on core utility services and location.

For Californians, especially those who own RVs and appreciate the unique lifestyle that coastal living offers, Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park presents a suitable and often sought-after option, primarily due to its unparalleled location and the practical amenities it provides for self-contained units. While not a traditional resort, its strengths cater to specific local needs and preferences.
The most significant draw for Californians is the location itself. Santa Cruz is a prime destination in the state, celebrated for its iconic beaches, vibrant boardwalk, and a laid-back, outdoor-centric culture. Being able to park your RV directly at the Santa Cruz Harbor means immediate access to picturesque waterfront views, opportunities for marine wildlife spotting (like harbor seals), and extensive walking trails. For those who frequently visit Santa Cruz for day trips or short getaways, having a full hookup site right in the heart of the action eliminates the hassle of finding parking or driving long distances to attractions. This convenience is a huge time-saver and enhances the overall experience of exploring the area.
Furthermore, for self-contained RV owners, the park efficiently provides all the essential services: water, sewer, and electricity. Many Californian RVers prefer to use their own onboard facilities, making the absence of public restrooms or showers a non-issue. This focus on core utility services often translates to a more streamlined and practical camping experience, allowing residents to enjoy the independence of their RV while benefiting from a prime location. The ability to bring your pet also makes it a suitable choice for many local families and individuals.
While some reviews highlight compact site sizes and constant harbor traffic, these are often accepted trade-offs for the unbeatable location. For Californians who view their RV as a mobile extension of their home and prioritize proximity to coastal attractions over sprawling amenities, Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park serves as an ideal "base camp." It allows them to fully immerse themselves in the Santa Cruz lifestyle, from walking to the beach boardwalk to enjoying harbor-side dining, all while having a secure and serviced spot for their vehicle.
In conclusion, for Californian RV enthusiasts who value an exceptional location, essential full hookups, and the freedom to explore Santa Cruz's renowned attractions directly from their doorstep, Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park offers a highly suitable and practical choice for their coastal adventures. Its strategic placement allows locals to maximize their time enjoying the very best of what Santa Cruz has to offer.

Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park Reviews
This RV Park is simply a parking lot with hookups. The sites are so small that there is nowhere to set up your camp chairs and barely enough space to park your tow vehicle. In this photo, our truck is parked in the site next to ours, since we couldn’t fit it in our site. The traffic moving in and out of the Harbor, in front of your rig, is constant and annoying. We did find walking trails nearby and watching the birds and harbor seals in the marina was cool.
Apr 01, 2025 · Susie PannellThis is basically a paved parking area alongside the harbor. It has full hookups available, but maintenance is an issue - we were in space 11, and the 30A socket had a broken ground pun area. I mentioned it to the camp host, whi said that someone would repair it, but didn't happen during our 4-night stay. The location is very good, and we usec our ebikes to go all over the area. This property has no amenities, but is a good "base camp" for exploring Santa Cruz. If the cost was not so high for what you got, I'd give it 5 stars.
May 19, 2025 · davetellingGreat place to stay for 1 or 2 nights for discovering Santa Cruz. Unfortunately the "campground" is just a small parking lot with no amenities at all. Not even the bathrooms on premises are accessible. Otherwise quite nice and quiet.
May 21, 2025 · Nina F.Great little spot to park your rv for a couple nights and explore santa cruz. Quiet at night. Lovely atmosphere by the water/marina and is only a short walk to the beach. Also a great path around the marina to walk your dog
Mar 15, 2024 · Hannah CGreat location. Kind of expensive but the location is worth it. Few amenities: no toilet, no showers. no green grass, just a paved wide parking space along the marina. Worth the price.
