Rush Creek RV Camp is a small, dedicated facility focusing on providing essential services for RV enthusiasts. It aims to be a friendly and accessible option for those visiting the region, offering a no-frills experience with the core necessities for a comfortable stay. While it may not boast extensive resort-style amenities, its appeal lies in its simplicity and proximity to local attractions, making it a suitable choice for many travelers.
The camp embraces the rural charm of Kentucky, providing a peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle. It's an ideal spot for those who appreciate direct access to nature and a relaxed atmosphere. The focus here is on convenience and functionality, ensuring that your RV experience is as hassle-free as possible.
Rush Creek RV Camp is strategically located at 16537 Trace Rd, Rush, KY 41168, USA. This address places it in a rural setting, allowing visitors to enjoy the tranquility of the Kentucky countryside. Despite its peaceful location, the camp offers good accessibility to key areas. It's situated on the same road, just approximately two miles from the renowned Rush Off-Road Park, making it a highly convenient option for off-roading enthusiasts looking for nearby accommodation.
For those needing to access urban conveniences, the city of Ashland, KY, is roughly 10 miles away. This proximity to Ashland means that guests can easily reach department stores, restaurants, and other city amenities while still enjoying a quiet retreat at the end of the day. The camp's location also offers easy access to I-64, a major interstate highway, which facilitates travel to and from the park for visitors coming from various directions.
However, it's important for prospective guests to be aware that the area around Rush Creek RV Camp can be remote. Some visitors have noted challenges with cell service and Wi-Fi connectivity in the immediate vicinity. While the camp aims to provide Wi-Fi, the signal might be exceptionally poor or non-existent in certain spots. This characteristic can be seen as either a drawback or an advantage, depending on whether you're seeking to disconnect and enjoy a truly off-grid feel, or if constant connectivity is a priority for your stay.
Guests should also be mindful that while the camp is close to Rush Off-Road Park, the legality of driving side-by-sides or ATVs on local roads to access the park directly from the campsite can be an issue. Some past visitors have reported being informed by local law enforcement that such activities are illegal and could result in tickets or impoundment, despite the perceived direct access. It's always advisable to verify current local regulations regarding ATV and side-by-side transportation to and from the off-road park to avoid any inconveniences.

For residents of Kentucky, especially those in the eastern region, Rush Creek RV Camp offers a practical and accessible option for a getaway. Its primary suitability for locals lies in its straightforward approach to RV camping, focusing on essential services rather than extensive amenities, which can often translate to a more affordable and less crowded experience.
Firstly, its location in Rush, KY, provides a convenient escape without requiring extensive travel for many Kentuckians. It’s ideal for a weekend trip or a longer stay when you want to explore your own state’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The proximity to Rush Off-Road Park is a significant draw for local off-roading enthusiasts who own ATVs or side-by-sides, offering a quick commute to their adventure grounds. While direct road access for UTVs from the campsite to the park is not advised due to local laws, the short drive by trailer remains very convenient.
Secondly, the camp provides full hookups, a fundamental requirement for comfortable RV living. For locals who own RVs, knowing they can access reliable water, sewer, and electric connections ensures a hassle-free stay. This eliminates the need for frequent trips to dump stations or concerns about power supply, allowing for more time to relax or engage in outdoor activities.
Lastly, the quiet, rural setting makes it a perfect retreat from the daily grind. Locals looking for a peaceful environment to unwind, enjoy nature, or simply have a change of scenery will appreciate the camp’s tranquil atmosphere. It’s an opportunity to disconnect (literally, given potential cell service limitations) and immerse oneself in the serene Kentucky countryside. While some improvements could enhance the visitor experience, such as better site graveling or grass maintenance, for many locals, the camp's foundational offerings and strategic location near a popular off-road park make it a suitable and appealing choice for their RV adventures in their home state.

Rush Creek RV Camp Reviews
This little park could be great, but it’s not! On the plus side it is full hook ups. BUT, the water, sewer, and electric are located on the wrong side of the RV. Walk out the door and trip over the utilities! In order to hook up everything has to cross over UNDER the RV. You park on 3” rock, but every thing else is dirt, and in our case when it rains it’s MUD! Close to the off-road park and restaurants is a plus. With a little investment in smaller gravel this could be a great place to stay! Hopefully the owner will invest in some smaller gravel and rearrange the parking so the utilities are located on the correct side. More grass would be very accommodating and mow what grass is there regularly. As is I probably would not stay there again, I would drive farther. I suggest you spend some money and make this a great little park!
Apr 24, 2023 · Pete MoffettWe were there Memorial Day wknd , we were told there was access to rush off road park, but what they don’t tell you is that it’s illegal to drive your side-by-side on the road licensed or not. You can get a ticket or impounded . The second day we were closely watched and before we even left the cops were called on us. He was very friendly explaining and we appreciate that. If you plan to attempt the drive to rush BEWARE what could happen. The officer has even talked to the guy that owns the place saying it’s false advertisement. Now about the campsite. Full hook ups was nice. we rented the “private” site and it was less to be desired. The grass was all grown up through the stone you could barely see, the amount of money you pay for the weekend the site should look like all the other sites not worse.
May 27, 2024 · Jaime LoudenslagerWe stayed here for the weekend while visiting Rush off Road. The property is very close to the Rush Park(less than 2 miles). The host, Sal, was amazing and so easy to work with. Sal provided so many amenities that packing was a breeze. The property was very clean and in a nice neighborhood. This was our first time visiting Rush but plan to visit often in the future. We will definitely be staying at this property for future visits.
Sep 27, 2022 · Dawnetta WilliamsInternet did not work to make phone calls or text. It is NOT accessible to Rush off-road. You have to drive 1.5 miles on the road and sxs are NOT legible on the road in the state of KY(although we were told by the host that as long as we had tags and insurance on it we would be fine) the Boyd county sheriff's Dept kindly had a 30 min discussion with us at our campsite that they are in no way shape or form legal on the road. He had had 15 calls from the neighbors that morning. We were not running fast, no music on etc the day before, we were not being disrespect to the neighborhood in any way. Save your self the time and rent from Krazy lady Kabins or stay on site at Rush. Not only will the sheriff's Dept write you a ticket they can impound your vehicle.
May 26, 2024 · Kimberly HicksNo access to Rush Off Road Park. Clean, nice little RV park. WiFi does not work, 8 of us all tried it, nothing. No cellphone service unless you find just the right spot, and it's very, very limited. But don't think you're gonna park there and ride to Rush Off Road Park. There is no access, and riding on the road 5 miles to get there, is 100% illegal with no exceptions. Local sheriff stopped by, informed us that under no circumstances were we to be riding on the road, and it's no doubt a ticket, and depending on the demeanor of the officer possible impound, with civil forfeiture of your vehicle. It seems a local dispute, over this property, has made every neighbor in a 10 mile radius, INSTANTLY, call the cops when you even walk toward your SXS.Park is clean, quiet, and everything works other than 30 amp electric is it, there's a separate 20 amp plug along with the 30 amp RV outlet, but they are tied together and you'll trip the main breaker if you try to run an electric skillet or something and your air conditioning in the RV. Sewer works fine, water works fine.Like I said, it's clean, quiet, and nice.Park would be 5+ stars if the access to the ride park was figured out, and the Wi-Fi worked.
