River Village RV Park Introduce
Welcome to **River Village RV Park**, a refreshing and well-organized destination for recreational vehicle travelers and outdoor enthusiasts exploring the spectacular Western Slope of Colorado. Located in the charming, agriculturally rich town of Paonia, this RV park serves as an excellent base camp for adventurers looking to experience the unique blend of high-mountain views and lush North Fork Valley vineyards.
Paonia is renowned for its organic farms, wineries, and vibrant arts community, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the West Elk Mountains. River Village RV Park is a newer addition to the area, developed with a focus on providing a tidy, convenient, and modern experience for guests. The park is family-run and aims to be a comfortable "home away from home" while you explore the region.
It is important for prospective guests to note that River Village RV Park is currently designed and best suited for **fully self-contained RVs**. This is an intentional feature of the new development, meaning that each RV must have its own bathroom and washing facilities. As one traveler mentioned, the park is "a new (very tidy) RV campground in a gravel parking lot, with no shade," and notably, there are currently "no restrooms—not even a porta-potty" on site, though future plans include a bath house. The focus here is on providing a clean, easy-to-access site with comprehensive hookups for self-sufficient travelers.
The park is a certified **RV park, campground, hiking area, and propane supplier**, offering more than just a place to park. The owners are dedicated to continuous improvements, including thoughtful additions like extensive rock work and developing walking paths, aiming to create a truly lovely space in this gorgeous mountain town. The community is pet-friendly, with plans for a dedicated dog park, making it a great stop for travelers with four-legged companions.

River Village RV Park is conveniently located at **175 CO-133, Paonia, CO 81428, USA**. This key location places the park right on Colorado State Highway 133, the scenic route that connects the North Fork Valley to the rest of the Western Slope and beyond.
Its placement on CO-133 ensures **easy and direct access** for even the largest RVs, minimizing complicated maneuvers through small town streets. This ease of access is a significant advantage for travelers. Paonia’s downtown area, with its unique shops, restaurants, and local amenities, is just minutes away by car, providing a quick connection to local flavor without sacrificing the quiet of an out-of-town retreat.
The park is perfectly situated as a central hub for regional exploration. It provides a gateway to some of the most beautiful and rugged areas of Colorado, including the West Elk Wilderness, Paonia State Park, and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The location on CO-133 also places guests in the heart of the North Fork Valley's burgeoning wine country, with numerous **wineries, cideries, and organic farms** just a short drive away for tasting and tours. Accessibility is streamlined, allowing guests to spend less time driving and more time enjoying the area’s fishing, hiking, and world-class mountain biking opportunities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Beautiful RV park - the owners have created a lovely space to stay in the gorgeous mountain town of Paonia. Thoughtful amenities and lots of hard work with rock work and walking paths. It looks like more to come, including a dog park which will be wonderful as of now, there was not great places for the dogs to use the bathroom. :) All sites are pull throughs so if backing up is challenging for you, not to worry! Hosts were kind and ran a tight ship. Will definitely stay here again.
July 08 · Holli MartinezThere are no restrooms--not even a porta-potty. This is not mentioned in the write-up below! This is a new (very tidy) RV campground in a gravel parking lot, with no shade. It's designed at this time for self-contained RVs with A/C only. Note: The parking lot is shared with some kind of aggregate business.
September 10 · Wooly ThymeAlthough the landscaping is not quite complete this RV park is stunningly beautiful! This is how it should be done. Host was very friendly and helpful. Full hookups and level pads. We will definitely be back.
September 06 · robin callahanIf you're looking for a beautiful, quiet, tidy, convenient camp site, this is it! The owners were delightful, the sites were thoughtfully laid out, the landscaping is beautiful & the views were breathtaking. The close proximity to Big B's Delicious Orchard was great too, as we were able to go enjoy music & brews & then return to our quiet spot. It was perfect.
July 20 · Amy Miller REALTORThe beginnings of what will someday be a great RV park if the same level of thoughtfulness goes into the remainder of the construction. Right now it's only eleven spaces and no restrooms, showers or laundry. All is brand new right now so no issues with electricity, water. The sewer hookup was a little tricky because of the varying levels of concrete surrounding it but we managed.
