Rimrock Meadows Introduce
Rimrock Meadows is a unique and expansive recreational and residential community nestled in the dramatic high-desert landscape of Central Washington, near Palisades. Unlike a typical overnight campground, Rimrock Meadows operates as a private HOA (Homeowners Association) member community, offering dedicated RV facilities and vast recreational opportunities to its members and their guests. The setting is spectacular, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the arid shrub-steppe environment and the stunning geological formations of the Moses Coulee.
This facility is designed to be a complete escape, an "oasis where one can leave the cares of the world behind and spend time in harmony with nature." The reviews consistently praise the "amazing" views and the surprisingly rich amenities included for members. The property is known for being inexpensive to own as a lot or membership, which grants access to a wealth of shared features. The people in the office are frequently described as "incredibly friendly," highlighting a positive experience for many visitors.
However, potential guests and members should note that, as a private association, the community is governed by a strict set of rules and bylaws. While the facilities are top-tier, the structure necessitates adherence to these rules, which some former residents have found to be rigidly enforced, expressing disappointment with the "overreach of certain board members and managers." This duality—incredible facilities balanced by a firm regulatory structure—is a key characteristic of the Rimrock Meadows experience.
### Location and Accessibility
Rimrock Meadows is located in a beautifully rugged and remote area near Palisades, WA 98845, USA. The park sits within Washington's Columbia Basin and is situated near the spectacular Moses Coulee, one of the region’s most interesting geological phenomena, providing a dramatic backdrop of basalt cliffs and wide-open sky.
The location offers the quintessential Central Washington high-desert experience, complete with abundant sunshine and expansive views. While the setting offers solitude, access is manageable, typically involving travel along State Route 2 and connecting via local roads. The property is designed with user convenience in mind, offering essential physical accessibility features:
- Wheelchair accessible entrance
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot
- On-site parking for all vehicles and rigs.
Despite its remote feel, the community is strategically located near regional recreation areas like Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park and the Columbia River, all within a reasonable drive. This makes Rimrock Meadows an excellent home base for exploring the vast natural and historical attractions of the area.

### What Is Worth Choosing Rimrock Meadows?
Rimrock Meadows is an exceptional choice for a specific type of user: a Washington resident looking for long-term, affordable access to a high-amenity RV and recreational escape. It is primarily worth choosing for two main reasons.
First, the unmatched value proposition offered by the HOA structure. The relatively inexpensive property ownership or membership fee includes an Olympic-size pool, a full clubhouse with laundry, and essential RV hookups, all while situated on property with amazing views and proximity to vast open space. This comprehensive list of amenities for a low annual cost is a significant draw that few other RV parks can match.
Second, the location offers a unique Central Washington experience. If you love the high desert, wide-open skies, geological formations, and the tranquility that comes with being removed from urban bustle, this is the perfect base. It provides a sanctuary for families to recreate, with dedicated trails and play structures, while also offering a sense of security with its dedicated fire safety resources.
However, potential visitors must be prepared for the reality of a private, rules-based community. If you prioritize an open, rule-free environment, you might find the governance restrictive. But if you value a well-maintained, amenity-rich, scenic property governed by a committed (if sometimes firm) leadership, Rimrock Meadows is a spectacular and smart investment in your Washington recreational lifestyle.

- Unfortunately, our experience with this facility has been deeply disappointing due to the behavior and overreach of certain “board members and managers.” Rather than fostering a welcoming and respectful environment, some individuals in leadership positions appear to use their authority inappropriately acting more like enforcers than community representatives. One particularly troubling incident involved a respectful conversation with another member, who later shared that they were removed from the pool area for wearing a tank top because they didn’t feel like wearing a revealing swimsuit. This kind of rigid and unnecessarily punitive enforcement of dress code policies is not only excessive, but also alienating, especially when the attire in question was modest and non-disruptive.It's disheartening to see what should be a community space turned into one governed by power dynamics rather than common sense and empathy. We hope the board takes a step back to reflect on how their actions are affecting the atmosphere and inclusivity of the facility. August 05 · Jenelle
- Many years of my life have been spent coming out here and enjoying my family's property, but as of the last couple years this place has become a nightmare due to the new management/board members. They treat members like dirt and speak to people with complete disrespect. I watched a group of people get berated in the pool this past weekend and have never been so disappointed in the way this place is ran. Josh, Leah, and the rest of the board need to figure out how to become professional or Rimrock is going to go from a fun community to a ghost town. August 09 · Zachary Zimmer
- A group of friends and I were harassed by two couples in the pool claiming to be the general managers of the area (Josh and his wife) which we have had property of through family of 40+ years as soon as we arrived to the club house pool. We have been lied to/threatened because of our ages and appearance as well. I've heard this place to be more of a campsite than an HOA advised "community" August 05 · Devin
