The campground’s proximity to Interstate 95 is a significant advantage for travelers. This major north-south artery provides direct routes to Washington D.C. to the north (approximately 45-60 minutes depending on traffic) and historic Fredericksburg to the south. This makes the campground an excellent base for exploring the nation's capital, its museums, monuments, and diverse culinary scene, without having to navigate city traffic with a large RV. Similarly, it's well-situated for visits to Virginia's historic battlefields and charming towns.
Beyond the major interstates, the campground’s location on Dumfries Road (Route 234) provides easy access to local amenities. Within a short drive, campers can find grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and other essential services in Dumfries and nearby Quantico. Notably, Potomac Mills Mall, a significant shopping destination, is only about 5 miles away, offering extensive retail and dining options.

Specific, ongoing promotional offers for Prince William Forest RV Campground are not consistently advertised in readily available public information. As a campground operating within a National Park Service unit, its pricing structure is generally set and focuses on providing value through its location and amenities rather than frequent discounts.
However, it is important for prospective campers to note that being a National Park, valid National Park Passes (such as the America the Beautiful Annual Pass, Senior Pass, or Access Pass) can sometimes apply to the park entrance fee, which is charged in addition to the campground fee. While the campground fee itself may not be discounted, these passes can help reduce the overall cost of visiting the park.

Prince William Forest RV Campground Reviews
This is a National Park campground in a beautiful woods location. It has lots of shade to keep it cooler. The sites are on a hillside so RVs need to be prepared for the need for significant leveling front to back. The rv pads are all paved but close together. It was quiet at night. Our grandson enjoyed the swimming pool.
Jun 18, 2025 · Tony HoughNice little campground. Depending on traffic, 45-60 min drive to DC! Mary the camp hostess, was so friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our camper that needed repair and ended up having to extend a couple extra days and she made it happen! So grateful.
May 06, 2025 · sam CregoSpaces are very tight. 90% are pull through but you better pull through. You don't want your tail or awning hanging into the road. It's very small but that is nice as there isn't much through traffic.
May 25, 2025 · Michael S. SteinebachWhen I first contacted this place I said I needed a spot for a week or two. They said no problem. I paid for the first week before I even got there. I was there all of 2 days and had to drive up to a job in Mass for a few days. Well it turned into the rest of that week and the entire next week. Imported to just get an Airbnb and pay the 2nd week here so I didn’t have to drive all the way back down and drag my trailer back up. I called to pay for the second week on Friday and was told I had to move it as my spot had someone already booked. So I had to do a 20 hour round trip just to put my trailer in storage. Beautiful spot that seems well maintained. Management needs some work though.
