Poplar Mobile Manor Introduce
Poplar Mobile Manor is a long-established manufactured home community located in the convenient and dynamic area of Wood Village, Oregon, just east of Gresham and providing easy access to the greater Portland metropolitan area. Founded in 1971, this large park features 114 units, providing a substantial source of affordable and community-focused housing in Multnomah County. The park operates as a mobile home park, where residents typically own their individual manufactured home dwelling and lease the space it occupies. This model is a cornerstone of affordable homeownership for many Oregon residents.
The community boasts a strong reputation among its long-term residents for being clean, quiet, and well-managed. Many residents report a deep sense of security and have established strong friendships within the neighborhood over decades of residence, highlighting the park's ability to foster a stable and supportive living environment. Management is often described as professional, which contributes to the overall stability and adherence to community standards. However, it is important for prospective residents to recognize that, like many manufactured home communities near main city arteries, the local area presents a mix of urban challenges and conveniences.
The park is a vibrant example of community living, offering an alternative to apartment complexes or traditional, more expensive single-family homes. While some of the homes are older (dating back to the 1970s), many have been privately updated and maintained, allowing residents to benefit from one-level living and a low-maintenance lifestyle. The general environment within the park is focused on providing a secure and well-cared-for home setting, despite the proximity to busy roads and a surrounding area that can face typical urban issues.
Poplar Mobile Manor is located at 1440 NE 223rd Ave # 87, Wood Village, OR 97060, USA. This location places the park conveniently at the intersection of suburban life and major transportation corridors. The immediate proximity to NE 223rd Avenue, which connects directly to major routes like NE Halsey Street and Interstate 84, provides residents with quick and efficient access for commuting into Portland or traveling east toward the Columbia River Gorge. However, residents should be aware that the park's entrance is located near a potentially "dangerous major road," which requires caution when entering and exiting the community, especially during peak traffic hours.
The surrounding Wood Village area, though facing some urban challenges, offers excellent access to essential services and amenities. The community has a Walk Score of 66 ("Somewhat Walkable") and a Bike Score of 72 ("Very Bikeable"), indicating that many errands can be accomplished without a car. Specifically, the park is less than a 10-minute walk from major shopping hubs like the Wood Village Town Center and **Gresham Crossing**, providing easy access to grocery stores, retail, and other services.
Accessibility features within the park demonstrate a commitment to serving all residents. Poplar Mobile Manor provides a Wheelchair accessible entrance for its main facilities and a Wheelchair accessible parking lot, ensuring ease of access for residents with mobility considerations. Furthermore, the location is highly connected to Gresham's extensive public transit, with multiple MAX light rail and bus stations, including the Civic Drive Max Station and Gresham Central Transit Center, located within a short 3- to 5-minute drive.

Poplar Mobile Manor Reviews
- I have lived at poplar mobile manor for around 25 years. It is clean quiet and the managers are very professional . I have met several of the neighbors and have become good friends with many. Most important is I feel safe living here. November 26 · Rena Radke
- Very dangerous major road off the park's entrance. Difficult to get in and out of.This area is in a very poor part of Portland, with lots of crime (fortunately some friends of the family were able to get a roof over their heads, thus the reason I ever visit the place).Their parking is non-existent, except for immediately next to the trailer (which in this case, I am perfectly fine with, I can lock my car with alarm.. and see everything that's going on.), But if you plan on coming in a group of cars (lol which is not something I would suggest, but if you have to, you'll only have room for one vehicle if the trainer's owner doesn't have a vehicle themselves) you'll have trouble.Unmaintained roads with major potholes.Just not a good place to be (however again, I am happy our family friends have a roof over their heads).
