Olive Dell in Colton Reviews
Like others have said, I'm sad to see that the new owners seemingly came in and bought the place just to make money without respecting the culture of naturism and freedom in which the place was founded; and is what made the place special. I've been there and met many residents who have called Olive Dell home for years and many have even retired there. Sadly, I understand that residents have now been forced to move away, effectively robbed of the lives they had there. This is what happens when power gets into the wrong hands. I hope that other communities can learn from this as to avoid such terrible outcomes of financial greed💰💰💰🚫👎🏽
Jun 21, 2025 · Oso NSeems as if the new owner is very defensive and offensive in their responses to negative reviews. Embrace them and learn from all review, it will def make your business better.Responses like "Closed because of rain, 100 mile winds and fires. Don't you read the news?" "Are you completely unaware of the wind and rain and the fires? You haven't been here for years. Bye""yeah much better !!!!! Love it." and finally "Most of us are happy with the new clothing rule. Better environment"If folks for years are used to the clothing optional, then no its not better if that is what the business was based off of. If the person responding to these is the owner, don't really know that business, just purchased the land, or a immature person that cant just write thank you for the response, sorry for the inconveniences and apologies as our policies or business moving forward has changed.Embracing all feedback—both good and bad—can truly help it grow and improve.
Jun 17, 2025 · Eric BrakeI used to love this place! The Bare Burro race was amazing and everyone was so friendly. Apparently under new management and it’s nothing like what it used to be. Also it’s no longer clothing optional. How sad! 😔 I enjoyed the past 5 years of what it used to be. It’s so freeing and liberating being nude in nature. Also based on the new owners responses he seems like a complete prick. I will count down until this place goes belly up. You can’t come into a community change everything and expect people to stay. Maybe that’s the goal. To get the older naturist hippies out so new people can come in. All I know is when you don’t respect the history of a place it tends to bite you in the rear end. Disgraceful and highly unprofessional owner. Also you have enough time to argue with common folk. Spend that time cleaning the pool! So gross! What a waste of 30 million dollars. I will hold onto all of my found memories and lovely people I’ve enjoyed over the years. Farewell Olive Dell. Hello Glen Eden! ☀️
May 15, 2025 · Amber HollandThe current status as of 1/22/2025. Closed by the county for dangerous and unmaintained conditions.UPDATE: 1/29/2025 After one week since county closure, management has done nothing to clean these facilities.
Jan 29, 2025 · Samantha ObrienEdit for response;I LOVE that this person running the Google account thinks I don’t have friends on the other side- & is blaming the pool conditions on the weather and fires as if it wasn’t like this LONG before then. It’s not because of the wind and fires. It’s incompetence and negligence.& saying that everyone is happy with OD going textile? False claim and lies. All lies.If you’re going to lie- make sure there is t literal evidence proving that you’re not being honest.*see photo stating exactly why amenities are closed*This is not the same place I grew up going to for 20 years of my life. besides the change to textile, the new management has completely mishandled and disrespected the place. The pool and jacuzzi are green and dirty. Old Managment, the Kilborns, held their pools and amenities to a very high standard and would ENSURE that the pool was always appropriately maintained. Mr. Kilborn would ensure the grass was always mowed, and utilities were working appropriately. Never once in my life have i seen the pool this way, even in the off season. It was always crystal clear and well maintained. I have found memories of watching mr kilborn tend to the recreations daily and would watch him clean the pool early in the mornings and as a little girl ask him all kinds of questions. He cared for his grass, his pools, and his restaurant. It is unfortunate how the new management has completely discarded the practice of keeping the place hospitable.Managment and new owners- you suck
