North Atlanta RV Park Introduce
For many Georgians, the dream of RV living extends beyond weekend getaways; it's a desire for a long-term, stable, and affordable home. North Atlanta RV Park, located in Winder, GA, caters specifically to this segment of our local population. Unlike typical transient campgrounds, this park is designed for extended stays, offering a unique living environment for RV owners. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of North Atlanta RV Park, drawing directly from the experiences of its long-term residents. It will guide prospective residents in Georgia through understanding its distinctive application process, location, and the features that make it a suitable, albeit unique, place to call home.
The landscape of RV parks in Georgia is diverse, ranging from state parks for short-term recreation to private resorts catering to various needs. North Atlanta RV Park carves out a specific niche: it is a "LONG TERM RV Park!" This is a crucial distinction for Georgians seeking a permanent or semi-permanent base for their RVs, rather than just a nightly or weekly stopover. This focus means the park operates differently from many others, and understanding these differences is key to a successful residency.
The most striking aspect of North Atlanta RV Park, as highlighted by current residents, is its unique approach to contact and reservations. It explicitly states, "They have no 'office', no 'on-site' staff! Don't expect 'immediate gratification'." This contrasts sharply with typical campground operations and has led to frustration for some prospective residents. However, a long-term resident offers invaluable advice: "Actally visit the park prior to contacting him, speaking with residents and THEN leaving him a message that 'name dropped' a few people I met, stating my desire to stay LONG TERM, offering to pay several months up front and - MOST IMPORTANTLY- left him a 'detailed' description of my Rig- year, footage, etc.,." This insider tip reveals that direct, proactive engagement, demonstrating commitment and a serious interest in long-term residency, is the most effective way to secure a spot. The park's manager, "Steve," operates on his own terms, and understanding this is essential for Georgians looking to join this community.
Despite the unconventional contact method, residents who have successfully joined the community express high satisfaction. One resident, after 2.5 years, "love the place!" highlighting that "It is kept clean, it's quiet, secluded, the residents cordial." The observation of "NEVER seen the police in the park in 2.5 years" is a powerful testament to the park's safety and the quality of its residents. This sense of peace, security, and a respectful community sets North Atlanta RV Park apart for those seeking a stable and well-managed long-term RV home in Georgia. As we proceed, we will explore these aspects in more detail to provide a comprehensive understanding of this distinctive RV park.
North Atlanta RV Park is located at ATTN Office, 1124 GA Hwy 211 Lot 5, Winder, GA 30680, USA. This address places the park in Winder, Georgia, a city in Barrow County that balances small-town charm with growing access to amenities. For Georgians, particularly those looking for a long-term RV solution outside the immediate hustle and bustle of Atlanta but still within a reasonable commuting distance, Winder offers a strategic location.
The park's location on GA Hwy 211 provides straightforward and accessible routes for RVs. GA Hwy 211 is a state route that connects Winder to other significant areas in Georgia, including Braselton to the north and Monroe to the south. Its proximity to major highways facilitates travel to and from the park, making it convenient for residents who commute for work or need access to larger commercial centers. While the road in that area might be known for speed enforcement ("Speed on 211 in that area? Not unless you are begging for a ticket"), the park itself is described as "secluded," suggesting a peaceful retreat once inside.
For Georgia locals, the advantage of this location extends beyond ease of travel for RVs. Winder offers local grocery stores, dining options, and essential services, ensuring that residents have convenient access to daily necessities. Furthermore, its position provides reasonable access to the broader North Georgia region, including outdoor recreational opportunities and the cultural attractions of nearby cities like Athens. This blend of local convenience and regional connectivity makes North Atlanta RV Park an appealing choice for long-term RV residents in Georgia.
Given that North Atlanta RV Park is explicitly a "LONG TERM RV Park" with no "on-site staff" or a traditional "office," the services offered are tailored to a semi-permanent residential community rather than a transient campground. Based on resident feedback and the nature of such parks, the core services provided include:
- Full Hookup RV Sites: The fundamental service, providing residents with a dedicated spot equipped with essential utilities for their RV, including water, sewer, and electrical connections. While not explicitly stated, reliable utility provision is paramount for long-term living.
- Grounds Maintenance: Residents note that the park "is kept clean," which implies that the management oversees the maintenance of common areas, internal roads, and general cleanliness of the park.
- Quiet and Secluded Environment: While not a tangible "service," the park actively maintains a "quiet" and "secluded" atmosphere, which is a key offering for residents seeking peace and tranquility in their long-term home. This often involves screening residents and enforcing quiet hours.
- Community Vetting Process: The detailed advice on how to get in (visiting, talking to residents, name-dropping, providing RV details, and expressing long-term commitment) suggests a rigorous, albeit informal, vetting process by management (Steve). This serves to ensure a community of "Good people, good behavior" and contributes to the park's safety.
- Security and Safety (Implicit): The strong emphasis on the "lack of Police presence" for 2.5 years is a significant indicator of effective, albeit indirect, security. This suggests that the park's management and resident selection process foster an environment where external law enforcement intervention is rarely needed.
- Waitlist Management: The mention of a "wait list" indicates a structured approach to managing demand for long-term spots, which is a service provided to prospective residents even if it means a delay.
It's important to manage expectations for services typically found in short-term campgrounds (like immediate office assistance or recreational programs) as North Atlanta RV Park operates with a different model, prioritizing a stable and secure long-term living environment. Residents are expected to be proactive and self-sufficient in their interactions with management and park upkeep, especially concerning their individual sites.
North Atlanta RV Park offers distinct features and highlights that make it particularly suitable for long-term RV living in Georgia, setting it apart from more transient campgrounds. These characteristics are often why residents, once accepted, express such high satisfaction:
- Long-Term Residency Focus: This is the primary highlight. The park is explicitly designed for "LONG TERM" stays, appealing to RV owners who are seeking a permanent or semi-permanent home rather than a short vacation spot. This fosters a stable and consistent community.
- Cleanliness: Residents consistently praise the park for being "kept clean." This indicates a high standard of maintenance for common areas and overall park appearance, contributing to a pleasant living environment.
- Quiet and Secluded Setting: The park is described as "quiet, secluded," offering a peaceful retreat away from the noise and busyness of urban areas. This is a significant highlight for those seeking tranquility in their daily lives.
- Cordial Residents: The community is characterized by "residents cordial," suggesting a friendly and respectful atmosphere among neighbors. This peer quality contributes significantly to the overall positive living experience.
- Exceptional Safety and Security: Perhaps the most telling highlight is the "NEVER seen the police in the park in 2.5 years." This remarkable absence of police intervention speaks volumes about the "Good people, good behavior and a good setting," indicating a highly secure and self-regulating community where residents respect rules and each other.
- Owner's Vetting Process: While unconventional, the owner's method of selecting residents, which involves detailed personal and RV information and a demonstrated commitment to long-term residency, acts as a feature that curates a high-quality, responsible community. This rigorous process, though demanding, results in a more desirable living environment.
- Proactive Resident Engagement: The expectation for residents to be "proactive about spotting and reporting water/sewer issues as well as following best practices for 'Freeze Warnings'" highlights a collaborative approach to park management. Residents are encouraged to look after common interests, fostering a collective responsibility for the park's well-being.
These features collectively create a unique and highly desirable environment for specific RVers in Georgia – those who value a stable, quiet, clean, and secure long-term community over immediate gratification and extensive on-site amenities found in resort-style parks.
Contacting North Atlanta RV Park operates on a different model than most RV parks or campgrounds, as it primarily caters to long-term residents and does not have an on-site office or immediate staff. However, the contact information provided is:
Address: ATTN Office, 1124 GA Hwy 211 Lot 5, Winder, GA 30680, USA
Phone: (404) 850-0430
Mobile Phone: +1 404-850-0430
Given the specific advice from a long-term resident, prospective residents should manage their expectations for immediate callbacks. The most effective approach to contacting "Steve," the manager, and potentially securing a spot involves a multi-step process:
- Visit the park: Drive through to get a feel for the environment and potentially "speak with residents."
- Gather Information: Get a sense of the community and potentially "name drop" a few people you met in your message.
- Craft a Detailed Message: When leaving a message, clearly state your "desire to stay LONG TERM," offer to "pay several months up front," and provide a "detailed description of Rig - year, footage, etc." You might also consider including unsolicited personal and professional background information to help "Steve get an idea of who would be staying there long term."
North Atlanta RV Park is exceptionally suitable for a specific segment of Georgia locals: those who own an RV and are seeking a long-term, stable, and truly residential place to call home, rather than a transient camping spot. Its primary suitability stems from its commitment to providing a "quiet, secluded" and remarkably "safe" environment, as evidenced by the consistent lack of police presence reported by long-term residents. This signifies a community of respectful individuals who value peace and order, a rare and highly desirable quality in any residential setting, including RV parks.
For Georgians who are willing to navigate the park's unconventional, yet effective, vetting process, the reward is a clean and well-maintained living space with cordial neighbors. The park's focus on long-term residents fosters a more stable and community-oriented atmosphere than what's typically found in short-stay campgrounds. Its location in Winder provides a balance of rural tranquility with reasonable access to local amenities and the broader North Georgia region, appealing to those who desire both convenience and a peaceful retreat.
In essence, if you are a responsible RV owner in Georgia, seeking a permanent, secure, and quiet place to live, and are prepared to engage with the park's unique application process, North Atlanta RV Park offers a compelling and highly suitable option for establishing your long-term RV home.

North Atlanta RV Park Reviews
I have rode through there several times a spoke to a couple of people but for whatever reason I can't seem to get anybody to call me back can some of y'all that have stayed there and are staying there could possibly tell me how do I talk to someone. I'm tired of living in my car when I have a perfectly good RV. Please help me
Sep 30, 2024 · Susan MealorIf you have not stayed at the park DO NOT LEAVE A REVIEW!! Seriously people- you are NOT ranking anything but your 'frustration' and your whining about not having a response from Steve.Yes, 'technically' you are sharing your 'experience' and thus the rating... but you are ranking something you have absolutely NO clue about; actully staying at the park and getting the 'full' experience. But fear not... Steve 'might' be inclined to contact you if you did what I did. Actally visit the park prior to contacting him, speaking with residents and THEN leaving him a message that 'name dropped' a few people I met, stating my desire to stay LONG TERM, offering to pay several months up front and - MOST IMPORTANTLY- left him a 'detailed' description of my Rig- year, footage, etc.,.I also added in (unsolicited) that I am a disabled vet, cancer survivor- but still worked part time and what kind of professional work I did, etc.Are you 'required' to do that? No... but I wanted him to get an idea of who would be staying there long term- and wanted to have the best shot at landing a spot- so, I tossed that info in for good measure. And guess what? He contacted me. And I was put on a wait list... 30 days later I had a spot. This is a LONG TERM RV Park! They have no 'office', no 'on-site' staff! Don't expect 'immediate gratification'- and there us a good chance that if you get contacted back that there 'could' be a wait list. This isn't a KOA or Trails campground... so manage your expectations accordingly. With that being said...I've been there 2.5 years and love the place! It is kept clean, it's quiet, secluded, the residents cordial... and MOST telling of all? I have NEVER seen the police in the park in 2.5 years (Granted they might have visited... but I have never seen them in the park- Ambulances- yes, police? No).Why is lack of Police presence important? (No, I am not anti-police .. I support the blue). Oh the Police are OUT there in the area, for sure! (Speed on 211 in that area? Not unless you are begging for a ticket).Good people, good behavior and a good setting = no need for a police visit. Can you say that about RV parks in general? NO! That should tell you all you need to know about safety and security. And I'm sure Steve appreciates a resident who pays on time, keeps his spot relatively clean and is proactive about spotting and reporting water/sewer issues as well as following best practices for 'Freeze Warnings'. In other words- looking after his interests as well as my own.
May 20, 2024 · Paul HardisterI have stayed here and is quiet and great place to stay. Great hook ups.Very nice area. Close to Winder.Very clean and well kept up!!!Jared Daab.
Sep 27, 2024 · jared daabGreat little RV park! Very quiet and everyone was friendly and helpful. Melinda was extra helpful after arriving after sunset, we had encountered that our spot was taken a simple Steve owner mistake but Melinda quickly took my Husband in her car and showed him 2 spots that were still available and had both 30amp/50amp, sewer, water hook up, community trash container and mailboxes (mailman comes around 3pm). We stayed a week for $150.
Mar 10, 2018 · Leena BurnsWe drove past here after like all the other reviews state, we called with no reply or answer. There’s actually a sign for a mobile home park with the same phone number listed on the main road. There’s no designated office, but it looks completely full of full timer rvs and mobile homes. It doesn’t look anything like the pictures. Don’t waste your time. They’re either not in business or at capacity.
