Mountain Shadows RV Park Introduce
Welcome to Mountain Shadows RV Park, a conveniently located and full-service campground in Draper, Utah. Situated right in the bustling heart of the Salt Lake Valley, this park offers a practical and accessible base for RV travelers, whether you are passing through on a cross-country adventure or planning an extended stay to enjoy the many cultural and outdoor opportunities the Wasatch Front has to offer. As a combined RV park and campground, Mountain Shadows provides essential services and amenities designed to make your time in the Utah area as comfortable and hassle-free as possible.
The unique position of Mountain Shadows makes it particularly appealing for various types of visitors. Short-term travelers appreciate the immediate freeway access for a quick and easy overnight stop, while those on longer assignments, such as temporary work or extended vacationers exploring the area, find the full hookups and amenities a perfect solution for stable, affordable residency near the Salt Lake City metro area. Given the high demand for housing and temporary lodging in the region, an RV park that offers both accessibility and comprehensive onsite services is a valuable resource for the Utah community.
The park aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere. The onsite management is often noted for being kind and helpful, working to create a positive environment for all guests. Like any busy urban park, Mountain Shadows balances the needs of different residents—transient guests, seasonal visitors, and long-term residents. Prospective guests should be aware that, as an urban RV park, the spaces are designed for maximized convenience and access, which may result in sites feeling closer together than in remote, wilderness campgrounds. However, this proximity is a direct trade-off for the park's unparalleled location and access to city services.
Mountain Shadows RV Park boasts a prime, easily accessible location in the burgeoning city of Draper, situated at: 13275 Minuteman Dr, Draper, UT 84020, USA.
Its immediate proximity to Interstate 15 is perhaps its greatest convenience, providing a seamless transition for travelers. This location means the entire Salt Lake Valley, from downtown Salt Lake City to Provo/Orem, is quickly reachable. This accessibility is essential for guests who are visiting local businesses, attending events at the Salt Palace Convention Center, or requiring access to medical facilities like those near the University of Utah.
Draper itself is a thriving suburb known for its beautiful views of the Wasatch Range and its proximity to major outdoor recreation areas, including numerous hiking and biking trails that ascend the nearby mountains. Additionally, essential services are extremely close—shopping centers, restaurants, and retail stores, including a Camping World, are right down the road, making restocking supplies a simple task. For those who require specific accessibility features, the park is equipped with:
- Wheelchair Accessible Entrance: Ensuring smooth entry into the main office and common areas.
- Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lot: Designated parking for convenient access.
The easy-on/easy-off freeway access makes it an ideal overnight stop, saving valuable travel time. The urban setting does mean that some freeway noise is inevitable, but the benefit of having immediate access to everything the city offers often outweighs this trade-off for most visitors.
Mountain Shadows RV Park is equipped with a range of onsite services to ensure a comfortable and self-contained stay. The offerings are comprehensive, catering to the full needs of the modern RV traveler, from utility requirements to essential daily conveniences.
- Full Utility Hookups: Sites include RV electric hookup (20, 30, and 50 Amp service available), RV water hookup, and sewer connections.
- Onsite Services and Facilities: The park features a dedicated laundry room for resident use, and a convenience store where guests can purchase essential RV supplies, snacks, and treats.
- Community Recreation: A playground is available for children, offering a space for families to play and relax within the park grounds.
- Pet Amenities: The park is dogs allowed and is known to feature a dog walk area, providing a space for pets to exercise.
- Waste and Dump Stations: Essential dumping facilities are provided for sanitary disposal.
- Payment Flexibility: The park accepts various payment methods, including major Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, alongside the standard Camping fee.
- Parking Options: Guests have access to a Free parking lot, On-site parking, and potentially a Paid parking lot option, depending on the specific site and duration of stay.
The key features of Mountain Shadows RV Park focus on maximizing convenience and providing a secure, full-service experience in a highly desirable urban area.
- Big Rig Friendly: The majority of spaces are pull-through sites, a major benefit that makes them generally easy to maneuver into and out of, even for the largest RVs and trailers. Site lengths up to 65 feet are typically available.
- Premier Salt Lake Valley Access: Located just south of Salt Lake City, the park provides an excellent hub for exploring Utah’s capital city, the beautiful surrounding canyons (Big Cottonwood Canyon, Little Cottonwood Canyon), and is a central point for trips to southern Utah’s renowned National Parks.
- Discounts and Value: The park honors a Veterans discount, demonstrating a commitment to supporting military personnel and their families, a valuable saving for eligible guests.
- Long-Term Stay Options: The park is a popular choice for extended stays, offering various rates for monthly residency. This caters well to those relocating, working temporarily in the region, or simply seeking a long-term, stable RV base in the valley.
- Immediate Proximity to Retail: The convenient location near Minuteman Drive places the park close to numerous large retail stores and restaurants, including Camping World, simplifying maintenance and daily living.
- Year-Round Operation: Unlike many seasonal Utah campgrounds, Mountain Shadows RV Park is typically open year-round, accommodating travelers regardless of the season and catering to winter visitors.

For RV owners in Utah, or those visiting the state, Mountain Shadows RV Park offers a compelling choice primarily based on its unbeatable location and high-value service proposition. If your travel priorities include quick access to the I-15 freeway, being mere minutes from major shopping and dining, and having an easy commute to Salt Lake City, this park is strategically superior to many more remote options.
The commitment to a full suite of services—full hookups, onsite laundry, and a playground—ensures that daily living is convenient, particularly for extended stays. The advantage of having pull-through sites makes arriving and departing less stressful, especially for drivers with large rigs. While the urban environment means spaces may be snug, and the community is a mix of temporary and permanent residents, the benefit of having a stable, serviced, and fully accessible base in the bustling Salt Lake Valley far outweighs the typical challenges of an urban park setting.
Ultimately, if you are looking for an RV park that serves as a practical, central, and well-equipped launchpad for exploring the northern half of the state, attending business in the city, or simply having a comfortable and affordable extended stay in the Utah metro area, Mountain Shadows RV Park provides the reliable infrastructure you need. The staff's focus on friendly service makes it a home away from home, right where the mountains meet the city.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The could be improved;Talk about packed in like sardines. The power and electric are not designed for customer convenience, one side has the electric and water for 2 sites so one trailer has to pull the power and water around or under their trailer. There was a rig parked in the street with its slide outs out in the street limiting our swing to get into our space and it took some extra finagling to get our trailer in, almost took out the power box for ours and our neighbors. The good; All the spaces are pull through so they are pretty easy to into and out of if you have a full field of swing available. They gave us a Veterans discount.
August 09 · Dell HartAs for the people in the office, they are nice (that's what the stars are for)!! The long term people have taken over the park, rude, no rules and will make your stay horrible. Having a sign posted that yours dogs are to be on a leash but finding out residents just do what they want is not a good surprise. Not picking up poop and no one's dog is trained to stay or not run toward you. Actually had one of their "guests" let their dog come at me and my dog, couldn't even call the dog and the magical GPS collar wasn't working. I had to pick up my pup who is a shy guy and the guy cussed me in front kids and told his dogs "to go get me". No solution or stop of the off lead BS was resolved!! Your campers are close and people are straight up in your business or staring in your window, we had to move our camper in the first 9 days because of 2 pesky neighbors!! $1100 a month until April and then $$1700 a month until October (over $400 a week) Saw the ad on my Facebook and had to correct some Good Sam info on nightly reviews. 3 of us left because of how bad it is, especially coming home after a 12 hour work day!! HIGH END amenities my arse, the laundry room smells like cigarettes and weed after the office closes, clothes left in all the washers ( 5 washers for the whole park). Save your money, go a little further north or south for your stay!!
June 04 · Jessica RobinsonThe Staff/Management are Extremely caring, understanding and genuine people! The park itself is beautiful and most of your neighbors are kind 😁 perfect location. We loved/love it here!
August 12 · Mariah MillsIt was difficult to reserve a site here. I tried to reserve online but thought it failed to go thru. So, I called and was told there was no availability. Imagine my surprise when I got a call about 2 weeks prior to our trip, wanting a deposit for the site! This was my preferred location, so I snapped it up.This is a nice campground. It is just off the interstate, but the traffic noise was tolerable. Would stay here again.
June 21 · K KomanSites are short and on top of each other. Good place if you have a short rig and just need a place that's convenient to stores, restaurants, and Camping World this is a good spot for you. They tell people it's OK to park your toad in the aisles since they won't fit in the site with your rig. Getting larger rigs in and out is difficult with all the cars and trucks parked in the roads.
