MorningStar RV Park is conveniently located at 11924 Townley Hill Rd, Corning, NY 14830, USA. This address places it just outside the charming city of Corning, known for its rich glassmaking history and cultural attractions. The park's setting is particularly appealing, nestled at the base of a 300-acre hill. This unique topography not only provides a beautiful backdrop but also offers direct access to nature trails with significant elevation changes, perfect for invigorating hikes. For New York residents, the location in the Southern Finger Lakes region is highly accessible. Corning is easily reachable via major roadways, making it a straightforward drive from various parts of the state, including the Elmira, Ithaca, and Watkins Glen areas. While the park offers a sense of seclusion, it remains close enough to amenities and attractions in Corning and the wider Finger Lakes region, providing the best of both worlds: peaceful camping with convenient access to local sights and necessities. The property's design with well-spaced sites further contributes to the feeling of privacy and quiet, making it easy to unwind upon arrival.
MorningStar RV Park focuses on providing essential services that enhance a comfortable and peaceful RV experience. While it eschews "frills," the services offered are well-maintained and highly valued by guests seeking a quiet retreat:
Full Hookup RV Sites: All RV sites come equipped with 20, 30, and 50 Amp electrical hookups, as well as water and sewer connections at each site, ensuring maximum convenience for RVers.
Spacious, Well-Spaced Sites: The park features generously sized lots, allowing for ample space between RVs and enhancing privacy, a feature frequently praised by visitors.
Level Sites: Many sites are noted for being remarkably level, minimizing the effort required for setup, with some being level to within half an inch.
Picnic Tables and Fire Rings with Grills: Each site includes a sturdy picnic table and a fire ring, complete with a grill top that swings over the fire, perfect for cooking and enjoying campfire treats.
Clean Restroom Facilities: Despite being a smaller park, the restrooms are consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with a single, clean shower available for guest use.
Seasonal Site Availability: The park primarily caters to seasonal campers, offering long-term stays throughout the summer season.
Good Wi-Fi (Reported by some older reviews, but check current availability): While more recent information suggests the park is seasonal only with potential internet through separate Spectrum accounts, older reviews highlighted excellent Wi-Fi, which can be a key amenity for many RVers. It is recommended to confirm current internet arrangements.
On-Site Management/Owner Presence: Guests often commend the owner for their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist, providing a personalized and welcoming experience.
MorningStar RV Park stands out for several features and highlights that contribute to its unique appeal, especially for those in New York looking for a specific type of RV experience:
Unmatched Peace and Quiet: This is arguably the park's biggest draw. By intentionally not offering extensive recreational facilities like pools or organized activities, it maintains a serene atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and quiet enjoyment.
Direct Access to Nature Trails: Being at the base of a 300-acre hill with nature trails provides immediate opportunities for hiking and enjoying the local flora and fauna. These trails offer varying elevations, catering to different fitness levels and promising rewarding views.
Dark Skies for Stargazing: The location benefits from Bortle 3-4 skies, meaning minimal light pollution, making it an excellent spot for stargazing and appreciating the night sky.
Wildlife Sightings: Campers frequently report seeing local wildlife, including deer, porcupines, and groundhogs, adding to the natural experience.
Thoughtful Site Design: The combination of spacious, often level sites, and well-equipped fire pits with grills demonstrates a focus on practical comfort and enjoyable outdoor living for RVers.
Friendly and Helpful Ownership: The owner's proactive and kind assistance, as noted in reviews (e.g., helping with leveling an RV), significantly enhances the guest experience and contributes to the welcoming atmosphere.
Proximity to Corning Attractions: While secluded, the park is just a short drive from the city of Corning, which is home to the renowned Corning Museum of Glass, the Rockwell Museum, and various dining and shopping options.
Gateway to the Finger Lakes: Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the wider Finger Lakes region, including its famous wineries, breweries, and other natural attractions like Watkins Glen State Park and Seneca Lake.
MorningStar RV Park primarily operates as a seasonal campground, meaning its promotions and pricing are often structured around long-term stays rather than nightly rates for transient visitors. According to available information, the park charges a flat fee for the entire summer season, which typically extends from May 1st to the day after Columbus Day. Electricity is metered and charged based on usage, with a slight markup over the utility company's rate. While specific "promotions" in the traditional sense (like "buy one night, get one free") are not typical given its seasonal focus, the seasonal rate itself can be seen as a value proposition for those looking for a consistent, extended stay in a quiet location. It is advisable for prospective campers interested in a seasonal site to contact the park directly via phone or email to inquire about current availability, the exact seasonal fee for the upcoming year, and any specific terms for new seasonal guests. Occasionally, there might be a rare opening for a transient spot, but the park explicitly states its focus on seasonal rentals. Therefore, for locals planning an extended RV season, the seasonal pricing offers a clear and predictable cost for their summer retreat.

MorningStar RV Park Reviews
Quiet, well spaced sites, at the base of a 300 acre hill with nature trails that had a 350ft change of elevation for those priceless cardiac points. Deer, porcupine, groundhogs. The site was level to a half inch already, and included a grill and picnic table. Also included darker Bortle 3-4 skies for sitting out and star gazing. Finally, the owner couldn't be nicer.
May 10, 2022 · doug haseltineGreat little campground for people who like peace and quiet. This place is no frills in the best way possible. No pool, activities, and pavilion means no noise. There were a few kids there, but they were quiet because they were on their campsite having fun not running around the site. There is one shower, but it's clean! I never had to wait on the bathroom or shower. The bathrooms were also clean and critter free. We have a Casita with a short electric hookup (15 feet) so spot 11 was a bit of a challenge for us. It was impossible to be level without some "help". The owner of the campground came to visit and saw were were struggling to stabilize the trailer. He ran home got some wood planks and helped us re-park the camper. The fire pits are awesome. They have a little grill top that swings over the fire. It's also great to warm up your chocolate and gram cracker while you are toasting marshmallows.Spot 1& 2 are completely shaded and have some trees to hook a hammock to. Spot 11 had no shade, but it also had no neighbors behind us. If I am in the area again, this is where I will be staying.

May 02, 2025 · Anthony QuattriniLove this place. 3 years now I've done at least one trip with them and my family and I love it. It's quiet and you don't have all the ridiculousness that comes with big camp grounds like the KOA nearby. You also have full hookup which is part of my camping preference(not for everyone). When I go camping it's more to get away and not have to deal with all the craziness of the world. This camp ground is just that. I'll keep booking sites here as the years go on. The trails nearby are also fun and relaxing. There is a train that goes by just couple times every 24 hours but it's not persistent by any means they're short trains which don't disrupt you much. Highly recommend this place. Can't say it enough. And the owners are very nice and welcoming while allowing you your privacy. If you want to be away from a ton of people and the highly energetic crowd of the big campground then this place won't disappoint!
Jul 14, 2021 · Andy CarterThis park is beautifully quiet and peaceful, feels very remote, very flat site where we didn't even have to level at all. We hiked on logging roads/paths on a huge hillside of big trees, pines and nice shade. The hiking trail starts right at the campground area. Very friendly staff and seasonals. We would suggest this to people who want a quiet camping experience.
