While the park is located in a "very rural area," as noted by past visitors, its accessibility is still quite manageable for RVers. The closest major services, including a Walmart, various restaurants, and gas stations, are approximately 9 miles away in the nearby town of Anna, typically a 15-minute drive along country roads. For broader shopping, dining, and other necessities like laundromats, the larger city of McKinney is also conveniently located, albeit a slightly longer 15-20 minute drive. McWest RV Park Reviews
We arrived here a couple weeks ago, relocating from out of state. The park is relatively new (Jan 2023) and "no frills" (no amenities like laundry, restrooms/showers,etc), which is fine for our needs at the moment. It is located in a very rural area. Water & electric are included in the cost, and the cost is affordable. Dogs welcome. The park management is onsite, and they are responsive. There are a few rigs that appear to be here for the long term, but since we've been here, there have been quite a few who come for a day or a few and then travel on. On the western boundary, the park abuts a fenced field where cows roam throughout the day. The eastern boundary is an empty field. At this time of year, fireflies come out in the evening, which was neat to see.The closest stores are about 9 miles away (15 minute drive along country roads) in Anna, where you can find a Walmart, restaurants, gas, etc. I haven't been to a laundromat yet, but the closest appears to be in McKinney, also a 15-20 minute drive.
Jun 14, 2023 · A. WahineReserved a specific site and paid in full in July. We get there in September, and someone is in our spot. Called, she offered me five bucks and pick another spot. I declined. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HERE. The only photo, while it was being built, was the only one I have seen. That's because it looks the same. ZERO facilities, no bath house/restrooms, no laundry, no amenities at all.She refunded our money, (minus her fees) within 24 hours. It's cheap for a reason.
Sep 28, 2023 · Shannon BooherAll that you would expect from a gravel parking lot with full hook up at $25 a night. The county roads in this area are trailer eaters. Drive slow and stick to the middle of the road to avoid the slumps and cracks.
Sep 26, 2023 · Besa SchweitzerOnly negative aspect is that they don't accept RV's older than 10 years. Fantastic beautiful place. Quiet. Perfect if you want some peace and quiet.
Aug 01, 2023 · Cristi MilamI've lived here for 2 years and barely had any problems. The owners are very nice.
