For many adventurers and long-term travelers exploring the heart of Louisiana, an RV park isn't just a place to park; it's a temporary home, a base for work, or a peaceful retreat. In the charming, rural setting of Morganza, Louisiana, Maxey Care RV Park offers a practical and budget-friendly option for those traveling with their recreational vehicles. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Maxey Care RV Park, detailing its location, the services it offers, and what makes it a suitable choice for various RVers, particularly those who value quiet and convenience for work or extended stays in the region.
Louisiana's landscape is diverse, from its vibrant cities to its serene bayous and open fields. RV parks across the state cater to a wide range of needs, whether you're a tourist seeking a resort experience, a local looking for a weekend getaway, or a professional needing a reliable place to stay while on assignment. Maxey Care RV Park appears to serve the latter segment exceptionally well, providing a functional and affordable solution for those who are working in the area or prefer a more low-key environment over a bustling tourist spot.
It's important to approach any RV park with an understanding of what it aims to provide. Reviews for Maxey Care RV Park highlight a mixed experience, underscoring the importance of knowing what to expect. While some aspects might require adjustment, others are highly praised for their practicality and convenience. This overview will delve into these details, giving you a comprehensive picture of what a stay at Maxey Care RV Park could entail for you in Morganza, Louisiana.
Maxey Care RV Park is strategically located at 641 LA-1, Morganza, LA 70759, USA. Louisiana Highway 1 (LA-1) is a significant north-south state highway that stretches across much of the state, providing direct and easy access to the park for travelers. Morganza itself is a small, quiet community in Pointe Coupee Parish, offering a peaceful rural setting that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of larger cities.
The park's location on LA-1 ensures straightforward navigation for RVers, reducing the stress often associated with finding hidden or difficult-to-reach campgrounds. While Morganza is a smaller town, the reviews highlight some key conveniences immediately next door: a convenience store and a restaurant serving "good food and liquor." This proximity means that essential supplies, snacks, and a hot meal are just a short walk away, adding significant value for residents who may not want to drive for every need. There's also a bar within walking distance, described as "nice and welcoming," offering a local spot for relaxation.
For more extensive shopping and services, the town of New Roads is approximately 6 miles away. New Roads offers larger retailers like Walmart and SuperOne, along with a variety of other restaurants. This provides a good balance: the quiet charm of a rural setting with easy access to bigger-town amenities when needed. The region around Morganza is known for its agricultural landscapes and proximity to the Atchafalaya Basin, offering opportunities for outdoor activities like fishing and hunting for those interested in exploring the local environment. The accessibility to major roadways also makes it a practical base for individuals working on projects across the wider central Louisiana area.
Maxey Care RV Park provides several essential services designed to accommodate RVers, particularly those on extended stays or working in the area. Based on customer reviews, the park focuses on core necessities for comfortable living.
RV Space Rental: The primary service is providing RV spaces for rent, available on a monthly basis, with a stated cost of $375 per month (plus a $15 card fee). This indicates a focus on longer-term stays rather than just overnight stops.
Utility Hookups: Essential for RV living, it can be inferred that the park offers standard hookups for electricity, water, and sewer at each site, allowing residents full functionality of their RVs.
Internet Access: Wi-Fi is provided, though one reviewer noted needing to supplement it with a personal hot spot occasionally, suggesting it may be suitable for general Browse but perhaps not for heavy data usage or consistent streaming.
On-site Management: There is an on-site manager who "lives there." Reviews indicate they are responsive via phone calls and texts, suggesting good accessibility for addressing resident needs, even if they aren't always in an office. They "will meet you" when called, showing a willingness to assist.
Laundry Room with Hot Water: The park reportedly has a laundry room and provides "unlimited hot water in the showers." This is a significant convenience for residents. However, it is crucial to note that one reviewer strongly indicated the washing machines "do not spin" and dryers "do not dry at all," and the quarter machine "never has quarters." This suggests these facilities may not be reliably functional.
24/7 Access to Showers and Laundry: The shower house and laundry room are stated to be open 24/7, which is a great benefit for those working unusual shifts, allowing flexibility for personal care and laundry at any time.
Provided Laundry Services: One review mentions that they "also provide laundry services," which could imply a wash-and-fold service offered by the park, potentially as an alternative to using the on-site machines if they are indeed problematic.
Maxey Care RV Park, while pragmatic, offers several features that appeal to a specific demographic of RVers, particularly those prioritizing a quiet environment and practical conveniences.
Peaceful and Quiet Environment: A significant highlight, strongly emphasized by one reviewer, is that the campground is "very quiet" and "peaceful." For those working or seeking a low-key stay, this provides a much-needed respite from noise and distraction. The sentiment that "everyone basically kept to themselves" further reinforces this quiet atmosphere, appealing to individuals who prefer privacy.
Affordable Monthly Rates: The monthly rate of $375 (plus card fee) makes it a very budget-friendly option for extended stays, especially when compared to daily or weekly rates at other parks. This affordability is crucial for long-term workers or those on a tighter budget.
Convenient On-Site Management: The presence of an on-site manager who is responsive to calls and texts is a significant advantage. This ensures that residents have a point of contact for issues or questions, promoting a more secure and supported stay.
Dog-Friendly with Field Access: For pet owners, the park is notably dog-friendly, offering a "field next to park for your dog to run." This is a huge benefit for canine companions and their owners, allowing for exercise and enjoyment without leaving the premises.
Immediate Local Conveniences: The direct proximity to a convenience store and a restaurant offering "good food and liquor," plus a nearby bar, provides excellent walk-up access to essential and leisure needs. This reduces the need to drive for quick purchases or a meal.
Good for Workers and Extended Stays: Repeatedly highlighted in reviews, the park is ideal for individuals working in the area or needing a practical, long-term base. Its focus on quiet and affordability caters directly to this demographic.
Safety and Security: One reviewer specifically mentioned feeling safe walking their dog at night and not having to worry about anything, indicating a secure and calm environment.
It is important to acknowledge the mixed reviews regarding noise from a nearby train and ATV use, as well as the functionality of laundry facilities. Prospective residents are advised to weigh these factors against the highlights of quiet, affordability, and convenience when considering Maxey Care RV Park.

While train noise is noted, the overall sentiment points to a calm general ambiance, which is a rare find in some busier RV parks.
Furthermore, the immediate proximity to a convenience store, restaurant, and bar significantly enhances the daily convenience for residents. The ability to walk to grab essentials, a hot meal, or a relaxing drink without driving is a huge benefit, especially after a long shift. The short drive to New Roads for larger shopping trips further solidifies its practicality. The dog-friendly aspect, with a dedicated field for pets, also makes it an excellent choice for Louisiana residents traveling with their furry companions, an important consideration for many.
While the laundry facilities appear to have issues that prospective residents should verify, the overall package of affordability, quietude, helpful on-site management, and essential local conveniences makes Maxey Care RV Park a highly suitable and practical choice for locals seeking a functional and peaceful RV home base in rural Louisiana. It serves a vital role for those who prioritize value and a no-frills, comfortable stay in the heart of the state.

Maxey Care RV Park Reviews
I rented a space for $390 for the month. The cost is actually $375 but there is a $15 fee if paying with card. The owner left me alone and no one else bothered me. It was a place to stay but don't expect to get any sleep. Internet was provided but I had to use my Verizon hot spot here and there. An active train will go by between 1:30 AM - 5 AM and sound the horn for at least 10 minutes (no stable train time either). Then at 7 AM, the owner's kid drives his four wheeler for about an hour around the park and I almost messaged her asking if he could stop. He rode the four wheeler for about an hour yet there is a noise ordinance that the owner made of no noise until 8 AM.Lastly, the shower house. There are hot showers but there is no privacy, no shower curtains, I wasn't sure if the door lock would hold up, and the place needs a new paint job. It looked dirty with the chipped paint and I wore flip flops to avoid getting a fungal infection. There are washer and dryers in the shower house as well but they do not work regardless of what the owner says. The washers do not spin so your clothes will be soaking wet and smell. The dryers do not dry at all. Finally, there are no quarters ever in that quarter machine. I went to dollar general next door asking for quarters and an employee there filled me in that the quarter machine never has quarters and those machines have never worked. Nearest laundry mat is 40+ minutes away.If you need a place to sleep during the day I would recommend but if you're staying longer than a night, probably not.
Dec 03, 2023 · Chelsea NThe campground is very quiet. If you want a space that is peaceful while working or staying over night, this is perfect. They have a laundry room and unlimited hot water in the showers. The showers and laundry room stay open 24/7 so you can wash your clothes late at night if you are doing shift work. They also provide laundry services. There is a manager on-site (lives there). They are rarely in the office but when you call they will meet you and return calls or text fairly quickly. It was nice to walk my dog at night not having to worry about anything. They also have a field next to park for your dog to run if you want. Right next door is a convenience store and a restaurant with good food and liquor. There is a bar in walking distance (if you had to walk home) that is nice and welcoming. New Roads has a Walmart and SuperOne that is 6 miles away plus a variety of restaurants. There is a train that runs but it seemed like it came every night at about 10:30 pm and in the am around 7 am. It worked for me as an alarm clock although I would hear most of the working crews pull out at 5:00 am. It's clean, safe and convenient for the price you can't beat it. I really just enjoyed how quiet it was and everyone basically kept to themselves.
Jan 20, 2022 · Pirogue EddieVery nice and clean park. The young lady (manager) was very accommodating and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The showers are endless with hot water n theres a laundry mat w laundry service, which came in very handy.
Apr 11, 2022 · Lorna CascioNice relaxing place. Close to road and train tracks which is a downer. You can't beat the price here. Washer dryer and shower house aren't bad. Place has wifi which is a little slow but still good enough for Netflix. Good place to stay if your down here working.
Mar 31, 2019 · Dakota RupePut us on a spot where another person was having to use our sewer. The person who booked my reservation was no where to be found. There was a male sleeping in the laundry room. We just pulled away and headed back home. Sketchy place. Will never be back ever again. Would rather stay in a Walmart parking lot and dry camp.
