July 17 · Kathy StrombeckA lot to say so I'll start with the BIG PLUS: I haven't heard 7am Sat morning leaf blowers in a while! It's been nice.I've received two 24h-hour entry notices that maintenance was going to enter my lot to figure out why my lollipop driveway light isn't working. After the first one I called the office to let them know it's from when the single wide home next door was removed the power wires were physically disconnected from that meter box. That's how it works, at least in my part of the park. Your neighbor powers your light & you power the neighbors on the other side. The manager at the time (think what a lumberjack yells when felling a tree) said it would be hooked back up when the new home was put in (which ended up being several years later in ~2019). When they were moving the power box to stuff a double wide where a single had been I brought up fixing the light however we had a new mgr & the people doing the work had no clue what I was talking about. I haven't had that light for about 10 yrs now when that single wide was removed. Oh, & all anyone did was put a piece of electrical tape over photovoltaic sensor at some point well after the 2nd 24 hour notice of entry. When I told the office lady why the light didn't work after the 1st notice she sounded surprised & wondered aloud if that could be the reason other lights in the park weren't working. She was going to have maintenance call me but that never happened.In 2016 mgmt did lot inspections 2 wks after cutting down trees & grinding stumps. There is a rule here that once a fence is installed (at homeowner's expense) it becomes property of the park. We'd already been living here 8 years & that fence, while it didn't meet the parks requirements of 3 foot white vinyl, it had been here when the ppl before us moved in (we know them). Among other things the inspection said we had to remove the fence & fix the yard where they had ground the stump. AFAIK, everyone in the park had stuff to "fix." Everyone also got 30 day eviction notices w/the results of the inspection from their lawyers. On the plus side they did kinda follow the law by working w/homeowners on extentions if we showed we were putting in effort. On mine I had to fix my yard that had looked good b4 they ground the stump & roots & I had to remove their "unapproved fence." The squared wire fence went to the empty lot next door (seeing as it was their property) except for the posts I couldn't get out. That double wide...they placed it right up against those posts & said that 6 feet from the previous fence line was never mine. That fence & stump fell in that area. So they threatened me & my family with eviction for stuff that wasn't even mine to take care of. Front to back my lot is 92' & I lost 6’ of width so 552 ft² gone just like that, making the next part worse.Lot rent goes up every year for the "rising cost of maintenance" yet we have less amenities than we did when we moved in. I also have less space & had to cut down a bunch of bushes so now ppl use my yard as a shortcut to get from the walking path by the creek to the main loop. They like to stop & rip fruit from trees. I have them on camera h/e I have a bum leg & can't get out there in time to ask them to stop.They like advertising stuff that's just not here. For years we apparently had a basketball court. The putting green was removed & replaced with picnic tables. Last time I looked they said we still had a green. The kids swings were also replaced with picnic tables. The rest of the playground was replaced with a new one which was nice for the kids.With my bum leg I can trip over air so it really sucked when they paved over the old walking paths leaving a 3+ inch "step" at my access point & even greater at the bridges. I finally noticed some yellow paint on the bridge nearest me. Those were recently rebuilt & you can see screws barely biting into the frame.We're still here because the area was safe for the kids to go play when they were young. Since we own the home outright, it's less expensive than an apartment or equivalent house.
July 15 · Matt DillonThe rent in Lakeside Village has become so high they are pricing residents out of their homes. The cost to live in a mobile home is two fold, the price of the home and the lease space for it. The cost to lease at Lakeside Village is one of the highest in the state of Oregon. The price now for what you are receiving for the associated amenities is too high. They do finally have a manager that's lasted more than a year. It's really the fault of ownership group Cal-AM. Avoid that ownership group if you are looking for manufactured homes or mobile homes to live in they only care about their bottom line not the residents of the community.
