The true appeal of Lake Shore 55+ Manufactured Home Community lies in its diverse array of features and highlights, which cater specifically to the interests and needs of its senior residents. These amenities foster a vibrant, social, and active environment.
Features and Highlights:
- Direct Lake Access with Boat Dock and Fishing Pier: A standout feature, allowing residents immediate access to Lake Griffin for fishing, boating, and enjoying the beautiful waterfront views. This is a significant draw for anglers and water enthusiasts.
- Heated Swimming Pool: Crucial for year-round enjoyment in Florida, the heated pool provides a perfect spot for relaxation, exercise, and socializing. However, it's worth noting a past resident concern about the pool being "closed more than it's open," which is an area prospective residents might want to inquire about for current status.
- Spacious Clubhouse: The community clubhouse serves as the central hub for social activities, reportedly including billiards and Wi-Fi. It's the gathering place for many of the park's events.
- Dedicated Social Activities: The community boasts a strong social calendar, with organized activities such as Bingo (twice a week), Tuesday morning Donuts, Euchre, and other social events posted monthly in the post office. This fosters a "tight-knit friendly community" and provides ample opportunities for residents to connect and make new friends.
- Recreational Amenities: Beyond the pool and lake access, the park features horseshoe pits and other areas for outdoor activities, encouraging residents to stay active.
- Well-Maintained Grounds: Multiple sources suggest the park is "Well maintained by community and management," contributing to a pleasant living environment.
- Friendly Office Staff: Residents have positively noted the "Friendly office staff," who are "eager to assist when needed," indicating a supportive management presence.
- Pet-Friendly: While not explicitly stated in the provided reviews, 55+ communities often cater to pet owners, and this is a common amenity in modern parks.
It's important to address concerns raised in one review, specifically regarding lot rent increases and the availability of the pool. One past resident stated, "Lot rent goes up every year. Took 2 years to get a brand new pool and it's closed more then it's open. Its ashame. Plus if there is ever a tornado. They are not allowed to go in the clubhouse. That is awful how they treat there residents. Run as far as you can." This feedback highlights critical points for prospective residents to investigate: current lot rent trends, the actual operational status of the pool, and, most importantly, the park's severe weather shelter policy. While general FEMA guidelines state that mobile homes are not safe in tornadoes and residents should seek sturdier shelter, a lack of access to a community clubhouse during a severe weather event, if true, would be a serious concern. It is highly recommended that interested individuals directly ask the park management about their current policies on severe weather shelters and emergency preparedness, as well as the current pool maintenance schedule and lot rent increase history.

Sep 26, 2024 · Trish N Jerry BarnetteI live here. I like it and think it has a lot to offer. I have a dog but there are those that don't like animals here. I don't let them ruin my occupancy! The lake is beautiful! Office staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoy the amenities our community has to offer. Most people are quite friendly. My wife and I own three homes in this quiet, laid back, community.
Mar 29, 2021 · Jerry BarnetteWoah, talk about a view ! One of the most beautiful lake fronts I’ve seen yet in Florida. Beautiful fire pit overlooking the lake. Amazing place to sit on recliners under a gazebo over looking the lake and watch birds and wild life run along the palms and oaks scattered along the shore line. I managed to grab a great shot of one of the neighborhood hawks visiting the marina by the lake front. Love visiting this community they have a great manager and maintenance crew !
