For RV enthusiasts and those on the go in Alabama, finding a convenient and functional place to set up camp is often a top priority. In the town of Axis, Alabama, Koastal RV Park offers a practical solution for both short-term stays and longer-term residents. This RV park has recently undergone changes in ownership, aiming to enhance its offerings and overall guest experience. Located strategically for those working in or exploring the Mobile Bay area, Koastal RV Park focuses on providing essential services for the RV lifestyle. This article will provide a factual and informative overview of Koastal RV Park, detailing its location, the services it aims to offer, its key features, and why it might be a suitable option for local Alabamians seeking a straightforward and accessible RV parking solution.
Koastal RV Park is situated at 511 Salco Rd, Axis, AL 36505, USA. This location places it in the northern part of Mobile County, a region known for its industrial activity, particularly around the Mobile River and its delta. Axis offers a more rural and industrial setting compared to the bustling city center of Mobile, but its strategic positioning provides excellent accessibility for various needs. For those working in the numerous industrial plants and facilities in the Axis, Calvert, and Saraland areas, Koastal RV Park offers a highly convenient commute.
The park's location on Salco Road provides relatively easy access to major thoroughfares, including US Highway 43, which connects directly to Mobile to the south and points north. This makes it a practical choice for individuals and families whose work or personal connections are tied to the Mobile metropolitan area. While not directly on the coast, its proximity to Mobile Bay and the Mobile River Delta means that natural attractions and recreational opportunities, such as fishing and boating, are still within a reasonable driving distance. The park aims to serve as a functional base for those whose primary objective is convenience to work or family in the immediate region.
Under its new ownership, Koastal RV Park is working to establish a range of services designed to make stays more convenient and comfortable for its guests. Based on the available customer reviews, some of the key services and amenities include:
- RV Sites with Full Hookups: It is expected that the park provides sites with essential hookups for water, electricity (likely 30 and 50 amp), and sewer, which are standard for an RV park.
- Propane Exchange Station: A significant new addition and convenience highlighted by a reviewer is the "propane exchange station (Big Gas Supply)," making it much easier for residents to refill their propane tanks on-site.
- Bathhouse and Shower Facilities: While not explicitly detailed, common amenities for RV parks include access to restrooms and showers for guests.
- Laundry Facilities: Many RV parks offer on-site laundry facilities for guest convenience.
- Trash Disposal: Centralized or curbside trash collection is typically provided to maintain cleanliness.
- On-site Management: The park operates with management overseeing daily operations and assisting guests, though the level of on-site presence may vary as noted in one review.
- Aim for World-Class Operations: One review suggests the new owner is striving to operate a "world-class site" by "clear out all previous baggage," indicating an intent to improve overall quality and service.
Koastal RV Park, particularly under its new management, is focusing on enhancing certain features to improve the guest experience. While some past experiences may have presented challenges, the current efforts aim to create a more welcoming and efficient environment.
- New Ownership and Improved Operations: The shift to new ownership is a key highlight, with one review explicitly stating, "The new owner cleared out all previous baggage and now operates a world-class site." This indicates a commitment to resolving past issues and elevating standards.
- Convenient Propane Exchange: The "addition of the propane exchange station (Big Gas Supply)" is a practical and highly valued feature, saving guests trips off-site for this essential service.
- Strategic Location for Workers: Its position in Axis makes it particularly suitable for individuals working in the surrounding industrial areas, offering a close and accessible lodging option.
- Accessibility to Mobile: For those needing access to Mobile for family, medical needs, or other reasons, the park's location provides a good intermediary point.
- Focus on Essential Services: The park appears to concentrate on providing core RV park necessities, such as hookups and basic facilities, to support full-time and transient RVers.

The new owner cleared out all previous baggage and now operates a world-class site. The addition of the propane exchange station (Big Gas Supply) makes staying here that much more convenient. Thank you!
Nov 25, 2020 · Chris JohnsonOur names are Cory and Angel. Angel will be reviewing because she spends the most time at the campgrounds.Angel-I have been waiting to start reviewing some campgrounds we have stayed in. I was waiting so I would have a few to compare against. We have now stayed in 12(some more than once) since June 2019.First about us, my fiancé is a pipe welder and we live in our RV full time traveling from job to job. We moved into the RV fulltime in June 2019.When we moved our camper here we had a lot going on in our personal life or we would have never stayed here at all. Our dog that we had for 12 years was in the hospital and we found out she was in kidney failure(had already been in heart failure). We had to put her to sleep the day after we moved. Also just had first grandchild born in Mobile. This location was between the job and Mobile which is where the baby and animal hospital was located. When we got here a shirtless man waived us into a spot. So I start talking to this guy and gather that he is maintenance at the campground. He was sooo unprofessional!! Even the N word was used by him during this conversation. This guy had never seen us yet was talking this way. In this conversation I say something about our dog. He then tells me there is 3 Pitbulls that stay in the park. I didn't ask he was just offering this info. He then points toward campers and says 2 over there and 1 over there. Then he adds but they're always on leashes.Later after being there I figured out the 2 actually belong to him. And in the month I was there NEVER seen a leash on any of those 3 dogs.We stayed a month and it was hell. The owner seems nice but I don't think he's there enough to really know what goes on. First, I would not want these shirtless guy to be the face of my business and certainly not the mouth. The next real problem was the partying all the time all night. MANY nights I was still awake at 3 am waiting for them to pass out drunk so I could finally go to sleep. They built a pavilion right in the middle of all the campers so if people are hanging out there everyone has to hear it. Not smart!!From my understanding most of the guys that live there work together. That would mean they have about the same schedule so I guess they just assume everyone has the same work schedule as them. News Flash!! We don't work with yall and have to get up even when the rest of the trailer park boys have the next day off.The campers had junk just all around them. Trashy! The woman next to us that I didn't see to often had 2 little kids. These children found fun in knocking on the side of others campers. To sum this place up, they should have paid us the $350/month for the nightmare this place is.And remember while here I had just put my dog to sleep I was grieving and this was a terrible place to do that... NEVER WILL WE GO BACK HERE!!! We have a job about 15 minutes from them next week and will gladly drive however long it takes to get to a decent place to put out RV.I wouldn't call this a business. This is a cover up for these men to stay away from their house to do as they please without a wife to nag. So they shouldn't list this as a campground.
