Thank you, Jude Travel Park Owners, for allowing us to reside on your property for almost a year. Accidentally, when out of State, left the side door wide open for 3 days; Thank God and its hostess for always looking out for their tenants. Very friendly environment, always greeted with a smile. The owner allowes to receive deliveries from any shipment carrier, keeping them safe on her office. Very kind-hearted, honest, and respectful people who in addition keep the gates shut to care no one trespasses, allowing its tenants to feel secured. Apr 29, 2025 · Tavo CanoPros:Hosts are very sweet and helpfulOnly 10-15 minutes to the French QuarterNice laundry facilitiesThe pool and hot tub are niceCons:Location is SCARY. Semi automatic gunfire ALL night many nights, drag racing as well up and down the road. I grew up with guns and the amount of gunfire very close was unnerving. The owners can’t control this, which I totally understand. However, this would prevent me from returning.Sites are SOOOOO small, our canopy could not open all the way if someone was next to us and the sewer hookups for each site are IN the middle of the very small area you do getThere are burrs EVERYWHERE. I had to brush 20-30 out of our dog every time she sat down outside.Located next to the train tracks which were very loud and shook our trailer even with stabilizers. The bathrooms here really need to be attended to more often, out of paper towel or supplies for days more than once.
May 02, 2025 · Elizabeth EmrickMarla, the owner, she is the most hospital person I have ever met. She's very caring. It was cold out this morning, and I had to go take a shower and I was expecting the bathroom to be cold, but to my delightfulness, it was very warm. I was very impressed. The park is extremely clean. I very highly recommend staying here at her park.
Mar 17, 2025 · Nola BarkerI spent two months at Jude Travel Park in New Orleans and found it to be a solid and dependable choice for an extended stay. The park was well-kept, and the amenities—like the pool, hot tub, and laundry facilities—were consistently maintained, which made my stay much easier. The location worked well for me, providing a quiet, peaceful environment while still being close enough to easily explore New Orleans. I didn't have to deal with city noise, but I was never far from everything the city has to offer. The staff were polite and professional, and I had no issues during my stay. They kept things running smoothly, and I felt well taken care of. For anyone looking for a reliable place to stay in the area, I’d say this is a good choice.
Dec 09, 2024 · SavannahThis is an urban campground. For those not familiar with urban campgrounds, they typically are not the spacious resort campgrounds you may be used to. They also typically, especially if close to city center, are not going to be in the most luxurious section of the city. There are three campgrounds basically right next to each other in this section of town, of the three, this appears to be the best.Site #9, Back-in, straight parallel, FHU 50/20 (no 30) pedestal tall enough for Watchdog to clear the ground, water with somewhat low pressure, 3" threaded sewer. Gravel pad with grass (sort of) between sites. -1.0°, -0.4° which was just barely level enough for us to auto-level with no pads or blocks. Site is wide enough for the slides on both sides, but feels tight. Neither of the RVs on either side had slides facing us - if they had, it would have been really tight. Had to park the car sideways in front of the coach, and even at that, we felt like we were encroaching on the center lane between the two rows of sites, though Marla, the owner, told us that was what we should do.The campground is not particularly pretty. At the front is a busy six-lane road. Behind us was a large train switch yard, and throughout the day and night, you could hear the trains moving, with occasional train horns and the clanging as cars are coupled and uncoupled. One night, there was what sounded like street racing / engine revving that started around 8:00 and continued until after midnight. It was easily heard inside the coach even with the heat pump running and the television on. There was also the sound of lots of gunfire, both during racing and after. From what I read, we were not in a great neighborhood, but, all the reviews said the campground itself was safe, and we weren't there to hang out at the campground, but rather to explore New Orleans, which we could access either by driving the car, taking a city bus which stops right across the street, taking an Uber/Lyft, or taking the campground shuttle. The city bus took about 45 minutes to get from the campground to the French Quarter. Depending on traffic, a car/shuttle takes around 15 minutes.Verizon - 4 bars 5G, T-Mobile - 3 bars, AT&T - Download Mbps 6.71 Upload Mbps 3.33Lots of OTA channels. The entrance into the campground from Chef Menteur Highway is steep, as evidenced by the numerous gouges in the pavement from RV's with low hitches.Marla, the owner, is really nice, and spent quite a bit of time giving us guidance on what to see and do, and our options for getting to the sites. She also gave us brochures, and two different walking tour guides, which I think she (and/or her husband) might have written, for architectural walking tours of New Orleans.Tips:To get to Bourbon Street using public transportation, walk across the street and take the #9 bus in the direction NOT toward Tchoupitoulas. A senior Jazzy Pass costs only $0.80 each and allows unlimited transfers and rides for twenty-four hours. Get off at Canal Street and take the Canal Street Streetcar toward the river. Get off at Bourbon Street. The best meal we had during our visit was based on Marla's suggestion: Coop's in the French Market area. The decor may be rustic, and the bathrooms "interesting," but the food is delicious. The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden is amazing. And, there is a Cafe Du Monde nearby to get your beignet and coffee fix.
