Location and Accessibility
Johnson RV Park is uniquely located on the sprawling Camp Blanding Joint Training Center installation, with its address listed as Ave A, Starke, FL 32091, USA. This specific placement on a military base is a key differentiator, influencing access and the overall environment. For eligible guests, navigating to the park requires careful attention to the correct gate. Reviewers suggest using the gate leading to the Camp Blanding museum for the easiest and most reliable entry. While GPS might occasionally be tricky, seeking guidance for the museum gate can prevent unnecessary detours.
Once on base, the park is situated to offer beautiful views, particularly of the expansive Kingsley Lake, known for its sandy bottom and clear water. This strategic location provides a secure and quiet setting away from general public traffic. Despite its secluded feel, Johnson RV Park is conveniently positioned for exploration. Historic St. Augustine, with its rich history, vibrant dining, and cultural attractions, is an easy drive, typically about 45 minutes away. This allows guests to enjoy the tranquility of the campground while having significant Florida destinations within reach for day trips. The base itself offers limited services, but nearby Starke (approximately 15 miles) has a Walmart Supercenter and other essential shops, ensuring that guests can easily resupply.

Johnson RV Park Reviews
This campground is on the Camp Blanding Joint Training Center installation. Active duty and retired military can make reservations to stay here. I am not sure what other categories of persons have base camping privileges. Our GPS had trouble finding the correct open gate. Use the gate to the Camp Blanding museum. We are in a 5th wheel, total truck and trailer length is 53 ft. We have stayed in sites 25 and 26. Both were on fairly level cement pads that were wide and easy to back into. We had full hookups, a picnic table, and a fire ring. We had a beautiful view of the lake. The laundry room is in the middle of the middle camping area. There were 4 washers and 6 dryers, quarters required. There is a coin machine available. $1.50 to wash and $1.75 for 45 minutes of drying time. St. Augustine is an easy drive, about 45 minutes, from the campground. During our stay we needed a mobile mechanic. We notified the recreation office and received a visitor pass for the mechanic (easy process).
Dec 13, 2023 · Christine LairdBeautiful park! Much nicer than our state parks, but only available to active duty & retired military. Contact them for more info & availability.
Sep 22, 2023 · Nancy Bumpus TompkinsGreat little park. They are working on bridges and need some improvement on the roads in the old area. Did not visit the new area. Kind of weird though for dog walking. The center park out of the 3 doesn't allow pets.
