Worst place we had ever lived at and wanted to share my honest review to deter others from living here. First day we were here we saw bed bugs, flying termite infestation, spiders, and roaches everywhere. When we reached out to the manager for pest control she said they don’t do that and we had to pay out of pocket to have someone come out to do pest control. The trailer is unlivable and honestly probably isn’t considered legal to rent out to anyone. There are multiple spaces in the front doors that let in bugs and rain pours down our doors when it rains. (I’ve attached pictures) Plumbing is horrible, the rubber seal on the bath drain was broken when we moved in so water doesn’t drain unless you hold the rubber drain plug by hand, carpet hasn’t been changed in what looks like years, full of dog hair and horribly discolored. Wiring problems with the electricity. The flying termites ate my kids wooden bed frame, and his wooden table. There were no doors on any of the bed rooms and the front door had multiple dents like it has been kicked in previously . Feral cats roam the apartment complex and destroy your cars and personal belongings, my husbands jeep tire cover was destroyed by the cats putting their claws into them, the manager didn’t care when it was brought up. And the bed bugs were so bad me, and my two kids, one who is a quadriplegic would wake up with welts and bites all over us and the manager couldn’t care less. She said she was going to demolish our trailer after we moved out so I’m sure she was aware how bad things were to begin with but just didn’t care about the real human beings living there. I’d hate anyone to move here not knowing just how bad things are. We moved from another state so we moved blindly and trusting the word of a stranger. The manager is rude and talks down to you, she’s only in it for money and doesn’t care about the tenants who live there. Don’t end up like us; consider moving elsewhere. This place is run by slumlords and slum managers. And in my opinion isn’t suitable living conditions for anyone. And lastly she doesn’t do background checks on anyone living here so you don’t know who your neighbors are and the neighborhood doesn’t feel safe at all. - Abigail London

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For Floridians exploring mobile home park options in the Space Coast region, Indian River Mobile Homes in Cocoa presents itself as a community that, for some, offers a quiet and peaceful living environment. The primary suitability for locals often lies in the potential for a different entry point into the housing market, or for those who prefer the specific lifestyle that mobile home communities can offer – often a more compact living space and a sense of neighborhood camaraderie.

One resident explicitly states, "I have recently moved in and it's been wonderful. It's very quiet. I love my mobile home. Cheryl has been wonderful. I haven't had any issues." This perspective suggests that for certain individuals, the community provides a satisfactory and problem-free experience, highlighting the quiet atmosphere as a key benefit. This 'quiet' aspect can be highly desirable for those seeking a tranquil retreat from busier urban areas.

However, it is crucial for any local considering Indian River Mobile Homes to conduct thorough due diligence. One detailed review painted a starkly negative picture, citing significant issues with pest infestations (bed bugs, termites, spiders, roaches), structural deficiencies (gaps in doors, plumbing problems, discolored carpets), lack of necessary repairs, and perceived unresponsiveness from management regarding these critical living conditions and safety concerns (feral cats, no background checks for neighbors). The review goes as far as to state, "This place is run by slumlords and slum managers. And in my opinion isn’t suitable living conditions for anyone."

Given these conflicting accounts, potential residents from Florida are strongly advised to visit the property in person, conduct a meticulous inspection of any specific unit they are considering, and engage directly with current residents if possible, beyond just the management. It would be prudent to inquire directly about pest control policies, maintenance responsibilities for the unit and common areas, and tenant screening processes. While the positive review suggests a quiet home is possible, the detailed negative account raises significant concerns about habitability and safety that must be addressed before committing to a lease or purchase. For a Floridian making a significant life decision about their home, ensuring a safe, healthy, and well-managed living environment is paramount.
