I-55 RV Park boasts a highly strategic and easily accessible location at 4260 Blackburn Rd, Edwardsville, IL 62025, USA. Its name is truly indicative of its prime position, being just a couple of minutes from the crucial I-55 and Illinois Route 143 intersection (Exit 23). This makes it incredibly convenient for travelers heading north or south on I-55, providing a quick detour without significant added travel time. While situated off a narrow country road, its proximity to the interstate means minimal navigation once you exit the highway. Edwardsville itself is a growing community with various amenities, including restaurants, gasoline stations, grocery stores, and shopping options, all within a short drive from the park.
Beyond its immediate surroundings, the park's location also offers reasonable access to larger attractions in the Metro East area and even St. Louis, Missouri. Popular destinations like Plummer Family Park, the Nickel Plate Trail for biking, World Wide Technology Raceway, and even downtown St. Louis for sporting events (like Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey), the St. Louis Zoo, and The Gateway Arch National Park are all within a 20-25 mile radius. This connectivity makes I-55 RV Park not just an ideal overnight stop but also a practical base for exploring regional sights without having to navigate dense urban traffic with your RV for extended periods.
I-55 RV Park is designed to provide the core services essential for a comfortable RV stay, focusing on efficiency and convenience for travelers.

- Electrical Service: Each site provides multi-amp electrical service, with 20, 30, and 50-amp plug-ins available. This caters to a wide range of RVs, ensuring that almost any unit can power its appliances and systems without issues.
- Pull-Through and Back-In Sites: The park offers a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. Pull-through sites are particularly convenient for large rigs and those staying for a short duration, allowing for easy arrival and departure without complex maneuvering.
- Level Gravel Lots: The sites are described as newly leveled gravel lots, providing a stable and even surface for parking your RV. This is crucial for comfort and proper functioning of RV systems.
- Pet-Friendly: The park welcomes pets, understanding that many RVers travel with their beloved animal companions. While a leash rule is in effect for safety and courtesy, it’s a positive aspect for pet owners seeking an accommodating stop.
I-55 RV Park offers distinct features that highlight its primary value proposition: a convenient and functional stop for RV travelers, particularly those in larger units.
- New Park Facilities: Being a relatively new park, the infrastructure is modern and well-maintained. This often translates to cleaner facilities and more reliable hookups compared to older campgrounds.
- Big Rig Friendly: The park is explicitly designed to be "big-rig friendly." Its spacious sites, including pull-through options, are well-suited for larger travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes, accommodating units over 40 feet long with ease.
- Owner Operated with Excellent Customer Service: Reviews frequently praise the owners for being "great," "very kind and courteous." This direct, hands-on management approach often results in a more personalized and positive guest experience, as they are available to answer questions and assist guests.
- Ideal for Quick, Convenient Stops: The park's main highlight is its suitability for travelers needing a fast, easy, and convenient overnight or short-term stop while on a journey. Its proximity to I-55 minimizes travel time off the main highway.
- No Extensive Amenities (Focus on Essentials): While some traditional RV resorts offer pools, bathhouses, laundromats, or stores, I-55 RV Park intentionally does not. This is a key feature for those who are self-sufficient in their RV and primarily seek reliable hookups and a place to rest, which also contributes to a more focused and possibly quieter environment for certain travelers.

Very kind and courteous with any questions we had.We will definitely use this park again anytime we are passing through.
Apr 18, 2025 · Ray BroullireExtreme highway noise kept us awake ALL night. Located off a narrow country road…. No shoulders…Not good for Big Units. No amenities ( shower, bath, laundry room, pool , store etc). So they charge luxury RV resort prices ( 55.00 plus 3% credit card fee plus tax was over 67.00 a night) for a gravel pad, weeds growing up around picnic table and full hook ups. We’re full time and have seen many nice campgrounds for half the money. It’s clean and friendly owners but NOT worth the $$$$
Jun 25, 2025 · Mrs RonSuch a lovely little RV park! We only stayed one night on our way through, but it would be great for longer stays as well. It was convenient to the interstate and only 10 minute from restaurants, shopping, groceries, etc. After we pulled in, the owner stopped by to say hi and let us know where they were in case we needed anything. The layout was well-thought out and easy to access. We'll definitely stop again if we're headed through the area!
May 10, 2025 · Traveling HopeA beautiful new campground. Family owned and operated. The sunset view from any lot is amazing! While it is small it's customer service and friendly atmosphere is grand! We really enjoyed our time there and an Uber ride into MO from there is reasonably priced. I highly recommend this campground for a short stop over or even an extended stay.
May 28, 2025 · Penelopee TurnerMy wife and I stayed at I-55 RV Park & Campground over the weekend and found it to be very convenient. We were attending a sporting event in Edwardsville and its proximity to Edwardsville is great...just a few miles away. The campground is quite new ~ 6 months so as one would expect, it is a work in progress. The sites are easily accessible with a good approach so not do drive on the grass. It poured during one of the nights and the water seemed to drain off the site quite well. Jeff and Kim were great hosts - we were in touch prior to our arrival, they met us on arrival and we chatted a few times while there - even a follow-up to say thanks for staying with them. The campground is a mile or two off of I-55 so again, quite accessible. We will stay again!
