Horsetooth Inn and R.V. Park Introduce
For residents and visitors in Colorado seeking an exceptional outdoor living experience, the **Horsetooth Inn and R.V. Park** offers a prime location in the scenic foothills just west of Fort Collins. This facility is more than just an RV park; it serves as a year-round base camp for adventure, specializing in both **long-term RV spaces** and **cabin rentals**. The park's distinct appeal lies in its immediate proximity to the world-renowned Horsetooth Reservoir, a 6.5-mile body of water surrounded by 1,900 acres of public land and endless recreational opportunities.
Unlike many seasonal campgrounds, Horsetooth Inn and R.V. Park is structured to support extended stays, which is a significant draw for individuals and families in Colorado who wish to live a lifestyle immersed in nature without being entirely isolated from city conveniences. This balance is often cited by residents as a major “win”—the ability to enjoy the peaceful, quiet, and beautiful surroundings, including ample wildlife and stunning views, while being a short drive to Fort Collins for necessities and entertainment. The community atmosphere within the park is described as supportive and friendly, thanks in part to dedicated on-site staff who maintain the area and foster a sense of belonging.
The park facilitates a true outdoor lifestyle, providing essential infrastructure for modern RV living while capitalizing on its stunning Northern Colorado setting. From fishing and boating in the warmer months to the quiet beauty of the winter landscape, the location near Horsetooth Reservoir makes this RV park a genuine retreat. The convenience of having certain amenities and a general store right on the property further enhances the ease of stay, minimizing the need to constantly drive into town.
Prospective residents and campers should note that the park is particularly well-suited for long-term rentals, offering a consistent and manageable living situation for those choosing the RV lifestyle in the Fort Collins area. However, the site is known for having compact spacing between RV sites, which is a trade-off for the highly desirable and irreplaceable reservoir-adjacent location.

### What is Worth Choosing
The Horsetooth Inn and R.V. Park is an excellent choice for a specific type of Colorado resident or visitor: one who deeply values a **reservoir-adjacent location** and a **community-focused, long-term RV lifestyle**. You simply cannot beat the location for enjoying the outdoors in the Fort Collins area—it offers immediate access to fishing, boating, and extensive trail systems, all within a short distance of a major Front Range city.
For those looking to establish a semi-permanent or permanent home in an RV, the park's specialization in long-term spaces, combined with the inclusion of essential utilities (water, sewer, trash) in the rent, provides a streamlined and often more affordable living solution than typical apartment or rental housing in Fort Collins. The on-site General Store, complete with fuel, propane, and basic food items, transforms a remote location into a convenient place to live, significantly cutting down on trips into town.
Furthermore, the consistently positive feedback regarding the supportive management and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere, particularly during the off-season, strongly suggests a well-cared-for and stable community environment. This makes Horsetooth Inn and R.V. Park a uniquely attractive option for those seeking a primary residence or a lengthy retreat that fully embraces the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that only Northern Colorado can offer.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Such a great place to be. Quiet, peaceful…especially in the winter. Kyle the park manager, is wonderful. Fair, hardworking, and he really cares about our little community. Dawnetta who runs the little store is just a gem. 💎 highly recommend this rv park!!
June 18 · newcinceVery beautiful location and spots for long term rentals! so close to the reservoir, has a convenience store on site, water/sewer/trash included in rent. Can't really beat this location if you enjoy the outdoors and being outside city limits but close enough to town to still go get things easily when needed! Between the wildlife, the views, and the location it's all a win in my book!!
June 09 · Crystal RidingerAn amazing place to stay long term! Friendly staff who addresses issues immediately & fills propane as needed! Cutest onsite store well stocked & priced. Family oriented with ease of access to the Rez. Kind neighbors who look out for each other & often paddle board, kayak together. Beautiful wildlife, sunsets and sunrises! A unique one of a kind location that provides the peaceful environment one seeks when RV living!
July 11 · Ali HockenberryStayed here for two nights in our camper. I was instantly disappointed when I realized I had been duped by misleading reviews and the marketing wizards who made this place look like a nice place to camp.First I will start with the pros to give a fair and adequate review.Pros:-Friendly staff-Discount on firewood for staying there-Convenient access to supplies at camp store-Proximity to Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins, and Rocky Mountain National Park-Quiet campground-Cabins looked nice to stay inCons:-Expensive for the lack of quality our site offered-Crowded spaces, most of your area will be your neighbor’s septic hose-Lackluster views, the RV sites are behind the convenience store on gravel, not facing the reservoir-Campground seems mostly composed of seasonal or residential campers and miscellaneous debris-Every metal fire pit I saw had junk and trash in it, including ours on arrival-Cats roam the grounds at night which isn’t ideal for walking our dogs around-The only grass was by the store to walk your dogs on-Place seemed kind of sad and depressing for a fun family or couple getaway unless you were staying in the cabins-People pulling up to occupy the site near us instantly echoed our looks of regret and disappointment when they saw how small the sites were and that our septic hose met the bottom of their camper stairsPlease do not confuse Horsetooth Inn and RV Park for the County run campsites for Horsetooth Reservoir. Not the worst two nights of camping but by far was a frustrating experience to see what we got for what we paid and to feel fooled by the website’s photos and other campers’ reviews.
August 04 · Tosca WillisIs inside the Res so is very nice especially if you get a spot next to the lake. But they go fast so you need to make reservations. Enjoy!
