High Sierra RV & Mobile Park Introduce
For Californians and visitors exploring the Sierra Nevada, the choice of a basecamp is paramount to a successful adventure. **High Sierra RV & Mobile Park**, nestled in Oakhurst, California, offers an exceptional combination of natural beauty, essential modern amenities, and unbeatable proximity to some of the state’s most iconic destinations. Functioning as both a full-service RV park and a traditional campground, it caters to a wide spectrum of outdoor enthusiasts, from those seeking a luxury 'Big Rig' experience to traditional tent campers.
Oakhurst is recognized as the Southern Gateway to the majestic Yosemite National Park. This park’s location, right on the scenic Highway 41 corridor, positions it perfectly for local users prioritizing convenience and quick access to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and Yosemite Valley itself. Unlike the challenging and highly competitive reservation system within the National Park, High Sierra RV & Mobile Park offers a practical and comfortable alternative, providing full hookups and the conveniences of being close to town services, which are often scarce deep inside the park boundaries.
The atmosphere at High Sierra is designed to blend the tranquility of a natural setting with the necessary comforts of home. The park is situated alongside the seasonal Fresno River, which adds a unique, natural recreational element not typically found at every RV resort. This proximity to running water, complete with natural swimming features, elevates the camping experience, especially during the warm Central California summer months. Whether you are planning a weekend escape or an extended stay to fully explore the region, High Sierra RV & Mobile Park provides a welcoming, family-friendly environment that is essential for a relaxing getaway.
Modern RV parks are no longer just basic parking lots; they are amenity-rich destinations. High Sierra RV & Mobile Park embraces this concept by offering flexible accommodation options, including dedicated RV sites with various hookup options, charming cabin rentals for non-RV users, and rustic tent camping spots. The commitment to on-site services, easy payment methods, and an inclusive, pet-friendly policy ensures that guests have a smooth and enjoyable stay from check-in to check-out. It serves as a true hub for exploring the entire region, not just Yosemite, but also nearby Bass Lake and the vast Sierra National Forest.

### What is Worth Choosing
Choosing High Sierra RV & Mobile Park is a decision for travelers who want to maximize their time exploring Yosemite and Bass Lake without sacrificing the comforts and conveniences of a full-service park. The park’s chief value proposition is its location as a superior, flexible, and amenity-rich **Gateway to Yosemite**.
The biggest advantage over camping inside the National Park is the **full hookup availability and the free hot showers**. After a long day of hiking the trails of Yosemite Valley or visiting the Giant Sequoias, returning to a site with reliable electricity, water, and sewer connections—plus a hot shower—is a major benefit, particularly for extended stays. The natural amenities, like the river and the swimming hole, provide fantastic on-site recreation, giving guests an immediate, refreshing retreat without having to drive anywhere.
While one customer review highlights an isolated incident of miscommunication regarding after-hours check-in pricing and the issue of site-sharing (like a picnic table), these are typical operational challenges that underscore the importance of clear communication with the front desk, especially during peak season travel in California. The overwhelming positive feedback, however, consistently praises the beautiful location, the unique river access, the quality of the staff, and the cleanliness of the facilities. For the California explorer, the park represents an ideal balance: **the beauty of mountain camping with the ease of urban access and full amenities**. Its inclusion of accessible features further broadens its appeal to a diverse range of visitors. If your primary goal is to explore the Southern Yosemite region with a comfortable and reliable home base, High Sierra RV & Mobile Park is an excellent choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 15 stars all around!! This campground blew my expectations out of the water. Front desk staff was super kind and helpful. We booked a tent site, right next to the river that runs through the campground. Absolutely beautiful location. They have a “swimming hole” which had a waterfall, a rope swing and beautiful clean water. Water is a little chilly but nice on a hot summer day. Decent amount of food options really close by. Also only about 30 minuets from Yosemite’s south entrance, and an hour and 10 minutes from the valley (be at the entrance by 6AM latest to avoid lines and find parking). Definitely wasn’t expecting it to be so cool! Hot showers, not the nicest I’ve ever been in but they did the job. Clean bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again!
July 14 · Derrick MedlenArrived at 8:30pm- office was closed & emergency number listed to “call or text” did not respond via text. We called the number and told Michelle we parked in spot 23 but if she had a different recommendation we’d move- as we were car camping and not in an RV. She mentioned we could move to campsites they’d be cheaper but that she was a newer employee and did not know the prices at that time. I stated, “I can’t imagine they’d be that much different so we will stay here”. Michelle said okay and that we could pay at the office at 9am.In the morning the office told us it would cost us $75 because we chose to park in an RV spot, even though their employee did not know the pricing differences on the phone, the office was closed, we used none of the hookups and they were not sold out of either sites. After lengthy discussing the office honored the price of the most expensive car camping site which was $52.Lack of and miscommunication was a major bummer at this site, and there is no monitoring of the sites so, for example, “our” assigned picnic table was taken by our neighbor. The showers have an odd layout, just a curtain shared with the bathroom, but they have good pressure and hot water.
July 25 · Samantha GutheimWe stayed in the RV campground for 2 nights. Overall it was nice, people were lighting fire and it was smoky one of the nights but I guess that comes with the camping experience. The amenities could be better - there was only 1 building with a single door for both showers and a toilet. So it could happen that someone goes in, locks the door and then none can be used. Also the showers felt a bit dirty and in a poor condition
June 13 · Viktor EvgenievWiFi did not work to most guests we encountered, front desk were clueless about how to fix and eventually we had no wifi even though it was part of the reason we booked this place.RV spots are ok but too close together to our taste, more space between them would have been much nicer.Maintenance could be better (gravel, grass, river shore and.more were git and miss, some were wild and some were better).Overall nice spot if you want to visit Yosemite near by or just need a spot for a night.
August 04 · Arik KfirInformation was light on (is there WiFi?) and the men's bathroom was being fixed up at the time, so the shower situation was dire, but otherwise plesent spot which was easy to get to. We were in a 30-foot RV.
