Hayden Island Mhc Introduce
For Oregon residents seeking a distinctive and affordable living experience, Hayden Island Manufactured Home Community (MHC) offers a truly unique option: island living in the heart of Portland. Situated directly on the picturesque Columbia River, this community is located on Hayden Island, an area that serves as a natural border between Oregon and Washington state. As a large manufactured home community, Hayden Island MHC provides an opportunity for homeownership at a generally lower cost compared to the surrounding traditional housing market in the Portland metropolitan area.
This community is designed to be all-ages and pet-friendly (dogs allowed), welcoming a diverse array of Oregonians, from young professionals and families to active retirees. It is known for featuring an extensive list of amenities designed to enhance the resident lifestyle, fostering a vibrant and social atmosphere. With its serene waterfront setting, the community provides a relaxing escape while maintaining excellent accessibility to the major retail and cultural hubs of Portland.
However, prospective residents should consider public feedback alongside the community’s impressive features. Reviews occasionally highlight concerns regarding the professional management, particularly the need for clear communication and follow-through, often due to being run by a larger, corporate entity. Some residents have also expressed concerns about the overall maintenance of individual spaces and rule adherence within certain sections of the large park. While the common areas and curb appeal are often praised, keeping documentation of all interactions with management is highly recommended for a smoother residency. The goal of the managing company is to provide a clean and well-equipped place to live, and the extensive amenity list reflects a dedication to a high-quality lifestyle.

### Location and Accessibility
The exceptional location is perhaps the strongest feature of Hayden Island MHC. It is located at 1503 N Hayden Island Dr, Portland, OR 97217, USA. This address places the community in the desirable North Portland area, on the only island neighborhood in the city.
Living on Hayden Island provides residents with immediate access to waterfront activities, including boating, fishing, and scenic trails along the river. The island is the site of the popular Jantzen Beach SuperCenter, giving residents convenient, tax-free access to a major shopping mall with a variety of retail stores, dining options, and services. The unique geographical position means the community is an Oregon resident’s northern gateway, easily reachable via the I-5 corridor and the Interstate Bridge that connects Portland, OR, with Vancouver, WA. This offers excellent transit for commuters heading north or south.
Accessibility within and around the community is also prioritized, including a Wheelchair accessible entrance and a Wheelchair accessible parking lot, ensuring the environment is welcoming for all Oregonians with mobility needs. The proximity to I-5 provides direct access to downtown Portland's attractions, including the airport (PDX), entertainment districts, and the MAX light rail system, which is nearby at the Portland Expo Center. This combination of scenic, recreational island living and superior urban access is extremely rare in the Portland metro area.

### What is Worth Choosing
For Oregonians, choosing Hayden Island MHC is a decision to embrace an unparalleled lifestyle that perfectly blends recreational opportunity with urban accessibility. What makes this community truly worth choosing is its ability to offer an affordable homeownership option in a truly prime and unique Portland location—an island on the Columbia River. Few other manufactured home communities in the Pacific Northwest can boast the same combination of a comprehensive amenity package and a waterfront setting.
The sheer volume of features—multiple pools, clubhouses, fitness center, and planned community events—creates a rich, engaging social atmosphere that is ideal for families and individuals alike. Being part of the Portland School District and benefiting from the proximity to Jantzen Beach tax-free shopping further enhances the daily convenience. The location is a genuine commuter's dream, bridging Oregon and Washington and offering rapid access to two major metropolitan areas.
While the community has faced internal challenges, particularly related to the perception of management effectiveness and enforcement of rules, the core value of the property remains exceptionally high. The opportunity to live in an actual island neighborhood with river access, extensive amenities, and accessible pricing presents an attractive trade-off for those willing to engage proactively with management. Prospective residents are encouraged to focus on the overall quality of life afforded by the location and amenities, and to secure all agreements in writing to ensure a positive and long-lasting home experience in one of Portland, Oregon's most distinctive communities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Of course I love my space next to the water. My opinion is this is not a good place to live. It is run down and as I tell corporate office its like coming into trailer trash living. expensive to live. Office not friendly. They just don't take pride in this place. To many junk cars and people who do not take pride in taking care of there place. Sad
February 24 · Marilyn DawkinsPlease make sure to read the other negative reviews when thinking about moving to this park. Management is very unprofessional and as someone else has said run by a larger company. Make sure you double check and keep things in writing when dealing with management. Otherwise maintenance seems to be friendly and the curb appeal is nice.
August 03 · Rena MUnfortunately, the park is being poorly maintained and residents are not being taken care of. There are cars, run-down vehicles, and dilapidated structures everywhere. There are too many people and animals packed into homes, dogs running loose, and there are people living here who have not been approved by the park. Unfortunately, houseless people are digging through trashcans and entering peoples' properties looking for things to steal. The poorly maintained mailboxes (which are the park's responsibility to secure) were just broken into. The park does the bare minimum to maintain any area which is not immediately visible to the public, while the front of the property is manicured for curb-appeal. Violations are mostly ignored and not reinforced. This company is owned by a large corporation, who apparently just see the property as an investment. I have lived here for over a decade and I would not recommend moving here. It is heartbreaking to see what's transpiring here, despite numerous documented complaints to management.
November 13 · Laura BeeThe staff are rude aside from a few maintenance staff. The office harrasses tenants they do not like and allows other tenants to harass others inside the park. Volunteers for the pool are just plain rude and disrespectful aside from one lady. Id advise anyone looking to move here to look elsewhere its not family oriented in anyway and theres a lot of politics with the office staff. They single out certain tenants and give them violations for things every other tenant has and only violates the ones they dont like. Its an all around terrible place to live and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
June 16 · Rebecca BarnettI live here probably not the best person to ask. I love my home, dislike Management. Hoping my years and rating with Google and my years of fair and honest reporting will be taken into account with this review. Management here is not good, no follow through, no support, this could be a beautiful place. Especially with the build up of downtown Vancouver. So many homes for sale. Again, just a happy Googler trying to stay in the top 10%
