In the diverse landscape of Texas RV parks, Groves RV Park caters to a distinct clientele. It's not designed for families seeking playgrounds or bustling social activities, but rather for individuals or couples who value a quiet, secure, and respectful environment. The park’s focus on long-term residents, often those working locally, shapes its atmosphere into one of minimal traffic and peaceful coexistence. Groves RV Park is situated at 6345 Gulfway Dr, Groves, TX 77619, USA. This address places it in the heart of the Groves community, which is part of the larger Port Arthur metropolitan area in Southeast Texas. The park's location on Gulfway Drive provides relatively easy access to local roads and highways, connecting it to the industrial and commercial centers of the region. This makes it particularly convenient for individuals working in the refineries, chemical plants, or other industries prevalent in the Golden Triangle area.
While located within Groves, the park is notably quiet, with one review mentioning that despite the presence of a nearby bar, dump truck service, and wrecker service, there is "hardly ever noise or disturbances" and "hardly ever hear sirens." For those needing supplies, local stores and services in Groves and neighboring Port Arthur would be readily available. The park’s strategic placement allows for convenient work commutes while still offering a calm retreat at the end of the day.
Groves RV Park focuses on providing essential services with a modern touch, particularly in its key facilities. Based on customer insights, here's what you can expect:
- Full Hookup RV Sites: While not explicitly detailed, it is standard for RV parks in this region to offer full hookups, including electricity (likely 30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer connections at each site.
- Brand New Laundry Facilities: The park boasts "very nice and new" laundry facilities, featuring "big commercial" machines (likely front loaders) and a convenient change machine that accepts $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. These facilities are open 24 hours.
- New Shower Facilities: Alongside the laundry, the shower facilities are also described as "very nice and new," ensuring a clean and modern experience.
- Accepts Cash or Check Only: A key point to note is that the park does not accept debit cards; payments must be made by cash or check.
- On-site Management: The mention of "Mrs. Drew" suggests dedicated on-site management who aims to allow residents to "feel at home" while respecting park rules.
It's important for prospective guests to be aware of the cash or check-only payment policy, as this differs from many modern RV parks.
Groves RV Park possesses several distinctive features that contribute to its unique appeal, particularly for its target demographic:
- Quiet and Low-Traffic Environment: A significant highlight is the park's tranquil atmosphere. It's described as "quiet, not a lot of campground traffic," making it ideal for those seeking peace and minimal disturbance.
- Primarily Work-Oriented Clientele: The park largely accommodates "people who are here for work," fostering a community of respectful, long-term residents rather than transient tourists, which contributes to its quiet nature.
- High Level of Safety and Security: Guests feel safe within the park, noting that they "don't ever hear noise or 'regular visits'" and "hardly ever hear sirens," indicating a secure environment.
- Modern and Clean Laundry & Shower Facilities: The "brand new," "very nice and new" laundry and shower facilities, with commercial machines and 24-hour access, are a major draw, despite being described as "pricey."
- Acceptance of Various Rig Types: The park doesn't "expect people to have new campers," suggesting a welcoming attitude towards a range of RVs, including older models.
- Reasonable Rent: One reviewer found the rent to be "reasonable," indicating good value for the amenities and environment offered, especially for long-term stays.
- Management Philosophy: Mrs. Drew, the manager, is noted for allowing residents to "feel at home" without excessive micromanagement, a highly valued trait for those on extended stays.
A notable drawback mentioned in one review is a negative experience with electrical wiring and maintenance, which resulted in damaged equipment and a poor interaction. This is an important point for potential guests to consider and perhaps inquire about.

For Texans, particularly those engaged in the robust industrial sectors of Southeast Texas, or anyone seeking a long-term, stable, and quiet RV base, Groves RV Park offers a suitable and pragmatic choice. Its primary strength lies in its unique positioning as a "work-friendly" park. This focus naturally cultivates a calm environment with minimal transient traffic and disturbances, a significant advantage for individuals who value peace and quiet after a long day. The park’s commitment to safety, evidenced by the rarity of noise or official disturbances, provides a crucial sense of security for residents, which is paramount for both short and extended stays.

Groves RV Park Reviews
I would like to say that this is a "some love it some MAY hate it". Personalities, expectations, and where you rank yourself in society. We really like it for the most part. It's quiet, not alot of campground traffic, it's mostly people who are here for work. Thus no playgrounds, or dog park. It's safe. Yes there is a bar and a dump truck service and a wrecker service but you don't here noise or disturbances. You hardly ever hear sirens. You DO hear and see trucks racing every now and then! The laundry and shower is very nice and new. Pricey. But, it's brand new. Big commercial from end loaders. And a change machine. Accepts $1,5,10 and 20! Open 24hrs. The only down fall that I can see people complaining or being wary of would be the older campers that has alot of junk piled up outside. But I don't ever hear noise or "regular visits"! I don't expect people to have new campers. But hey that's their business that may be overlooked. As for rent, I think it's reasonable. One thing I HATE is when I'm a tidy person and owners/managers micromanage. We travel all year with the exception of December and January. So we are paying rent to feel at home. We respect your rules please allow us to feel at home! I have to say that Mrs.Drew does that. One more thing. That don't accept debit. So cash or check. Will definitely come back here.
Jul 19, 2017 · S DupontHooked up to a 30 amp plug and electrical wires were hooked up wrong. Hot wire and neutral were crossed and burned up my new AC unit. They didn't want to cover any of my expenses to replace the AC. Maintenance employee had an attitude when I told him it was wired up wrong. He said he has been doing it for 30 years that I was wrong and tried to get in my face about it. I walked away and left.

May 19, 2025 · Shane WilliamsIt is a clean quiet park with a new laundry room. The park is kinda small but I like that & it's 1/4 of a mile from the job I am working. Reasonable rates without all the extras & hidden fees. The office staff are polite & helpful.
Aug 27, 2018 · #unapoligeticlly IsraelGreat place to stay. Peaceful and has Laundromat next to office. Also has big trash bins towards exit. Has concrete floors for rv and cars. Also has a little pavilion for people with a grill next to it for anyone who wants to use it. There are chickens coops behind fence and are very loud in morning time.
