Grand Island Resort Introduce
Are you an active adult seeking a serene and welcoming 55+ mobile home community in the picturesque heart of Florida? Grand Island Resort in Grand Island, Florida, offers a peaceful and established neighborhood designed for those who appreciate a relaxed pace of life, coupled with convenient access to charming towns and natural beauty. This community aims to provide a comfortable and engaging environment for its residents.
Florida has long been a magnet for retirees and those looking for an active adult lifestyle, largely due to its desirable climate, abundant recreational opportunities, and a wide array of communities catering to various interests. Mobile home parks, like Grand Island Resort, represent an appealing and often more affordable pathway to enjoying the "Sunshine State" dream. They provide a unique blend of independent living with the benefits of a community setting.
A key indicator of a desirable community is the satisfaction and camaraderie among its residents. Grand Island Resort receives positive feedback on its neighborhood atmosphere, with one resident enthusiastically stating, "We love it here! The neighborhood is peaceful and not far from Eustis, FL and Mount Dora. Lots of places to eat and the small towns around are clean and they are constantly building out here to boost the economy. I love it out here!" This sentiment highlights the tranquil setting and the appealing proximity to vibrant local areas, which are significant drawcards for many Floridians.
However, it is crucial for prospective residents to consider all aspects when evaluating a community. Some past feedback has raised concerns regarding communication with management and the condition of certain communal facilities. Issues such as the disrepair of a dock and perceived difficulties in reaching staff have been mentioned. While a "temporary manager" was noted, indicating a potential for change, it underscores the importance of direct and thorough inquiry into current conditions and management practices before committing to a residency. Always verify the current state of amenities and the responsiveness of the on-site team to ensure it meets your expectations.
Despite these concerns, the core appeal of Grand Island Resort remains its focus as a 55+ community. This designation implies a tailored environment for active adults, often including social activities and amenities designed for this demographic. While specific details on organized activities are not extensively provided in the reviews, the peaceful nature of the neighborhood and its location near engaging towns like Eustis and Mount Dora suggest that residents can find ample opportunities for leisure and social interaction both within and outside the park.
For those prioritizing a quiet living space, a sense of community among peers, and accessibility to charming Central Florida towns, Grand Island Resort warrants consideration. It offers a practical foundation for enjoying the relaxed Florida lifestyle, with the added benefit of being part of a 55+ community where neighbors share similar life stages and interests.

Jul 05, 2025 · Debra Pemberton55+ park . I'm giving 5 stars just so as many people can see this as possible. I review many places for Maps, but this one is personal to me. I spoke with several residents that live in the community, and not a single member of that community had anything nice ti say about the managment of Equity Lifestyle Properties. They spoke of no communication from the office, or sales staff. That the corporate offices were just as bad. No answer, you had to leave a message and no one called you back. So i decided to see if in fact i had the same experience. I called corporate offices of ELS at least 20 times , every time it was no human answering, and i left many many messages with no response. It makes me wonder if an emergency should arise what would happen. The office staff, seems to hide inside, without answering the door. Even though i saw her park and go inside. The residents told me its always like that. The dock is in disrepair, leaving the residents having to walk out with orange cones to stop them from walking in the water instead of safety handrails. The tempory manager there, does not come out to speak to you. The sales girl has to go ask or email someone to get an answer for every question..... Come on ELS doesn't the residents deserve better than shoddy service like this? The parking for each trailer is almost ridiculous... barely parking for one car... conclusion...pretty area, horrible customer service and residents deserve better. Their are so many residents putting their home up for sale, doesn't it make you wonder why? I went to Grand Island to look a home for rent there, applied , and I was told 3 times by Judy, that i was approved. Infact, she and the manager took my deposit of $1099.00, and was told i could have the keys on Tuesday of that week. So on Tuesday i drove there 1 1/2 hours with my car loaded down to get the keys ,as promised, and Judy isnt answering any text messages, until i told her i was setting outside waiting to get the keys, to find out f i wasnt getting the house.. but they didnt give me my money back that day. I had to go home with my car still loaded down and i had to drive back again to get my money they took and held for the deposit. Doesnt applying, and accepting money for a rental constitute a legal contract? I have cancer and that was the last thing i needed. And the real kicker.... i currently live in an ELS park. I also do alot of work for the community, like i volunteered to do a faux finish on the community room counters, as they had deteriorated and needed repair. At no cost to the park i did the counters. Look at the photos. Please. I was worth having in the community, Grand Island team , was cruel , treating me like a yo-yo, accepting my security deposit, letting me come there with my vehicle loaded up, and telling me i could have the keys just to tell me their is a mistake.... what kind of people are you???
