Fox Sparrow RV Resort and Campground is wonderfully situated at 9092 Wentworth Springs Rd, Georgetown, CA 95634, USA. This address places it just outside the charming, historical gold mining town of Georgetown, nestled deep within the massive wilderness of El Dorado County. This strategic location offers a unique blend of serene forest immersion and convenient access to a vast array of outdoor adventures that are characteristic of California's Sierra Nevada foothills.
The campground is well "outside of town," which contributes to its peaceful ambiance, yet it's easily accessible. Wentworth Springs Road provides a direct route from Georgetown, typically a short and scenic drive. Fox Sparrow RV Resort and Campground Reviews
I was just at this campground yesterday and am amazed at what the new owners have done with this property. We are planning a big family campout there in a few weeks. The campground is huge, clean, and has obviously had lots of hard work, sweat, and TLC put into it in the last year.Fox Sparrow RV Resort and Campground is well outside of town, in between tiny historical gold mining Georgetown and massive wilderness that is packed with multiple lakes, streams, fishing, hiking/jeep/horseback/bicycle trails and so much nature. With several forks of the American River not far away. The owners are a nice close knit family of 4, working together, to make the campground a great place to be. Super nice people that make me feel welcome, as they do for everyone that I see walk in, when I am there. They are constantly adding more things to make it a better campground. They have full hookups (even for big set ups) and partial hookups, and even tent sites. On the grounds they have nice bathrooms with showers, a modest general store, laundromat, picnic tables, and a very cool pub complete with a nice Pool Table and local beers on tap. They built a big stage and will be hosting live music on Saturdays during the summer in their big courtyard. There is cornhole and a few other games available you can play. Last night they were in the big courtyard barbecuing burgers for anyone that wanted one. They even had a food truck out front the last weekend I was there. All of this in the middle of a beautiful shaded forest. I plan to camp there again and again, and will definitely be attending some of their Saturday concerts this summer.
May 11, 2025 · KellyAnn JWe had the best time as a large group of tent campers. The owners are super nice and fun. They keep the grounds so clean. Actual bathrooms with real toilets that flush and that require codes to enter is so much nicer than other places. No complaints and can't wait to go back again.!
May 29, 2025 · Sharon CookeIf you book online, I suggest calling to confirm your site number. We booked online and received email confirmation with the site number we picked written in the email. But when we checked in, we were told it wasn't possible to have reserved the site we did and was assigned a different site. Their online map is also different than the physical map they give you at check in, specifically site T1. We also didn't know wood fires were not allowed at this campground till the day before via welcome email. So, as long as you are flexible with what site you are staying in, and don't mind bringing a propane campfire, it was fine! Just don't forget your bug spray!
May 20, 2025 · Jennifer PotterJanna, Troy and family have and are creating the most enjoyable rv resort and experience! I would encourage you to book a site and enjoy the beauty of the area and the incredible kindness and service of this family owned business. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. Make sure you walk over to Foxy’s Bar for some great company, music, drinks and maybe the best burger you’ve ever had! 10/10 will be back!
Jan 21, 2025 · Donalee HamNew ownership is a big plus they have worked very hard and every day so far to completely turn this place around , they have a small store in the works and a beer and wine bar in the near future . Very pleasant atmosphere 👌 Happy to see sites filling up . Located at the beginning of Rubicon trail along with many lakes and hiking trails and horseback riding nearby, a great place to bring your family and enjoy all of what El Dorado National Forest has to offer 😀
