Fort Chiswell RV Park boasts an incredibly convenient and highly accessible location at 312 Fort Chiswell Rd, Max Meadows, VA 24360, USA. Its most significant advantage for travelers is its prime position less than a mile off the I-81/I-77 interchange (specifically, exit 80 off I-81, then south on Route 52 a short distance). This makes it an ideal stop for those traversing the major interstate corridors of Virginia, allowing for easy in and out access for rigs of all sizes. For locals, this means less time spent navigating complex routes and more time enjoying your destination.
While the park is remarkably close to major highways, many visitors report surprisingly minimal road noise, allowing for a peaceful stay. The park is nestled amidst picturesque mountainous farms, offering a tranquil and relaxing rural setting. You’ll often find cows, goats, and sheep grazing in the nearby fields, which contributes to the serene, pastoral ambiance. While the presence of farm animals can occasionally lead to associated smells, visitors generally find it to be a minor issue, overshadowed by the beauty and quietude of the surroundings. This blend of easy accessibility and a calming rural backdrop makes Fort Chiswell RV Park an excellent choice for both overnight stops and those looking to explore the Southwest Virginia region.

Fort Chiswell RV Park Reviews
This place is so easy to get to. It was an overnight stop in the first leg of our two week RV adventure. Every spot is easy to get in and out of with plenty of space, has a nice picnic table under a concrete slab. The water pressure is great and the electric reliable. It’s situated in the middle of mountainous farms and is beautiful, relaxing and stress free! The bathrooms were very clean and spacious, the team was friendly getting us checked in very quickly. We will definitely stay there again!
Jun 21, 2025 · Megan TuBooked this RV park as one of our stops while moving across country. We stayed in a pull through site, with a full hookup.Location: yes, it is in between some farm life (cows, goats, sheep). Although it smells due to..farm animals, it honestly wasn't terrible.Amenities: privacy shower was private, but it definitely made me feel vulnerable. It was a double curtain system. There were really nice open areas to walk our dogs too.Overall, the entire place was cute and quiet. The ONLY reason I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 is because we were woken up in the middle of the night the power went out for the entire camp for ~1hr.
Jun 13, 2025 · Alexis BenitoWe stopped here on our way home. All pull through sites. Nice sites with shades. Conveniently off I-81 in and out. Cow farm was the only problem I had because of flys. They were tolerable but annoying. Would stay here again.
Jun 06, 2025 · Joan ThompsonThis is our overnight stop for our regular trips to family. Convenient, right off 81, easy in and out, fuel and food at the interchange. We are usually there in the off season, but very friendly staff.
Mar 13, 2025 · Joel RoneyNot really rooms - we were at the RV park. It’s a regular and convenient stop for us on our routes along I-81.
