Eagles Nest Mobile Home & RV Introduce
For many Floridians and those visiting the Sunshine State, RV living embodies a unique blend of freedom, flexibility, and the opportunity to immerse oneself in diverse environments. Whether you're a long-term RVer seeking a stable base, a seasonal resident (often called a "snowbird") looking for a winter retreat, or someone in need of extended temporary housing, RV parks are an essential part of the landscape. If you're exploring options in Florida's vibrant capital, Tallahassee, Eagles Nest Mobile Home & RV is a community that may catch your eye. Understanding the typical offerings of an RV park and the specific characteristics of a place like Eagles Nest can be incredibly valuable in planning your extended stay or finding a suitable long-term spot.
An RV park, especially one that combines mobile home spaces with RV sites, provides a structured environment for recreational vehicles. These communities offer designated spots, often with essential utility hookups, catering to the needs of RV enthusiasts. Unlike short-term campgrounds, many RV parks, particularly those accommodating long-term stays, focus on providing a stable, managed living situation. They often appeal to those who prefer the mobility of an RV but desire the benefits of a community and access to local services. In Florida, the popularity of RV living is undeniable, driven by the pleasant climate and abundant natural attractions. RV parks across the state vary widely in their amenities, but generally aim to provide a comfortable and convenient experience for their residents and guests, fostering a sense of camaraderie among those who choose this lifestyle.
Eagles Nest Mobile Home & RV is located at 5301 Gum Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32304, USA. This address places the community in a part of Tallahassee that offers a balance of residential calm and convenient access to commercial hubs. Tallahassee, as Florida's capital city, is a hub of activity, combining historical charm, prominent educational institutions (like Florida State University - FSU, as mentioned by a reviewer), and expansive green spaces. The location on Gum Road suggests a more suburban setting, offering a potentially quieter environment compared to areas directly downtown, while still being highly accessible. A past resident highlighted its proximity to major retail outlets such as Walmart, Lowe's, and Home Depot, which is a significant advantage for long-term RVers and residents who rely on easy access to supplies and services. Furthermore, its closeness to FSU makes it a potentially attractive option for students, faculty, or those connected to the university. This blend of tranquility and urban convenience makes Eagles Nest a practical choice for those seeking an extended stay in the area.
When considering an RV park, particularly for a longer duration, it's crucial to understand the available services and features to ensure it meets your specific needs. Eagles Nest Mobile Home & RV appears to cater primarily to those seeking extended stays, with a focus on providing spacious sites. Based on available public information and customer reviews, here’s a look at what you might expect:
Services Offered:
- Large RV Sites: The park is noted for having "very large" sites, accommodating a variety of RV sizes and providing ample space for personal use, such as setting up a BBQ. This is a significant advantage for long-term residents who value extra room.
- Full Hookups (Electricity Separate): Sites typically offer essential hookups including water and sewer. It's important to note that electricity is generally "separate from rent," meaning residents are billed based on their usage, a common practice in long-term RV parks.
- Community Management: The park provides the essential framework for a residential community, managing the space and ensuring a basic level of organization.
- Trash/Waste Management: Standard waste collection services are generally provided for residents.
Features / Highlights:
- Spacious Environment: The "very large" sites are a key highlight, offering plenty of room for parking, outdoor living, and privacy, which is often appreciated by long-term residents.
- Friendly Atmosphere: A past resident noted that "everyone was friendly," suggesting a welcoming and amiable community environment.
- Pet-Friendly: The park is explicitly mentioned as "dog friendly" in a review, which is a crucial feature for RVers traveling with their beloved pets.
- Strategic Location for Essentials: Its proximity to major retail stores like Walmart, Lowe's, and Home Depot is a significant convenience, making errands and home improvement projects straightforward.
- Proximity to FSU: Being "close to FSU" makes it a potentially ideal location for those affiliated with the university or attending events there.
- No On-Site Amenities (as per review): It's important to note that a review states "No amenities. Just your space...no wifi it cable." This suggests the park focuses on providing the basics for a comfortable long-term stay rather than extensive recreational facilities. This can be appealing to those who prefer a simpler, more private environment and are less reliant on shared amenities.
- Quiet Setting: While not explicitly stated, the focus on "just your space" and the nature of an older mobile home park transitioning to RVs often implies a quieter, more residential feel.

Eagles Nest Mobile Home & RV Reviews
Older mobile home park partly turned over to long term RV's thus the sites are very large. No amenities. Just your space...no wifi it cable. Electric separate from rent. But everyone was freindly, plenty of space for BBQ...fog freindly. Close to Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and FSU. Stayed over winter 2015 to 2016 and would do it again.
