Crystal Kangaroo Campground Introduce
Nestled high above the historic town of Manitou Springs, **Crystal Kangaroo Campground** offers RV enthusiasts a distinctive and beautifully situated base camp in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. Positioned on Crystal Park Road, this RV-only facility boasts a rare perspective, providing visitors with magnificent, expansive views that stretch out over the famed **Garden of the Gods** and the surrounding majestic mountain landscape.
The campground is designed primarily to cater to travelers seeking **extended stays**, with a focus on monthly residency, making it an option for those who wish to spend a season or longer immersed in the beauty of South Central Colorado. The secluded location provides a quiet, off-the-beaten-path setting, allowing residents to enjoy a tranquil environment that is still just a short drive from the historic attractions and necessary conveniences of Manitou Springs and nearby Colorado Springs.
The atmosphere is intended to be a true mountain retreat, with the property being home to a herd of approximately 30 deer, enhancing the sense of being connected to nature. For RV travelers whose priority is a full-hookup site with incredible, unbeatable views and an extended stay option near some of Colorado’s most iconic landmarks, Crystal Kangaroo Campground presents itself as a conveniently located option. The park is an **RV park** dedicated exclusively to recreational vehicles, generally open from May through September, weather permitting, offering a seasonal mountain escape.
⚠️ A Note on Community and Management:
Prospective long-term guests should be aware that customer feedback regarding the management and community atmosphere has been sharply polarized. While some reviewers describe the location as "a piece of Heaven," others have reported significant issues, including frequent, seemingly arbitrary eviction threats, sudden rent increases, hostility from the owner/management, and intermittent lack of running water. Due to these extreme contrasting reports and serious allegations of abusive behavior in recent long-term stay reviews, readers should exercise extreme caution, weigh all available feedback thoroughly, and contact the park directly with detailed questions about residency rules and stability before committing to an extended stay.

- If I could give zero stars, I would. I am writing this review to warn other people. It’s not worth it, the other reviews are true. It will not be different for you.I stayed there for 4 months until we couldn’t take it anymore. We were evicted for no reason almost every month (sometimes weekly) by a sticky note left on the door. So you never quite feel welcome at your own home wondering what made up rule you broke. The first ever eviction scared us to our core but apparently it’s standard according to the other residents. Madeline the owner is hateful and rude. I have a voicemail from her on my phone saying “just wait until I see you when I’m having a bad day and I’m just gonna make you leave.” She charged at us screaming “I don’t like you.” Kim is a long term resident and creates equal problems. She gives mean looks and complains if you throw your trash away. It’s a shame because there are good people there but they defend Madeline and her behavior. It’s unsettling and no one should have to deal with that. We paid extra for electricity, rent increased 100$ & we have gone days at a time without running water. Seriously, don’t stay here. The picture is from the day we got an eviction notice for our lot looking “like a construction site.” April 02 · Katie Davidson
- Beautiful & quiet! This place is an unexpected treasure. Hiking trails are everywhere. A wonderful experience. October 27 · jenai Freng
- Love the views, price, people and fresh air. Landlord is stern but amazing. I will go back if needed. February 06 · Vicky Rain
- My husband and I are currently staying here (until this weekend) and have been here 5 months. Unfortunately, we didn't read the reviews until I wanted to leave one myself to warn others about Madeline the owner. I've got to say the reviews are spot on, the woman is rude and hateful. She raised the rent 100.00 because the septic tank had to be drained more often with people leaving faucets dripping. Then she said it was just us and blamed us for the extra cost and kicked us out. When I tried to talk to her to work things out she yelled and hung up on me, then taped a note on our door saying we had a week to go or she'd call the sheriff and if we took her to court she'd ask for the 1,977.00 it cost to drain the septic tank twice in 5 months. It's tempting to take her to court,, just to see a judge laugh in her face. The woman is unstable and the park is poorly maintained. I would recommend running in the opposite direction and avoid the hassle of dealing with her. March 05 · Rhonda Magalis
