As a mobile home park, Chet's Trailer Park provides the fundamental framework for manufactured home living. While comprehensive details on every service may not be widely publicized, general services expected in such communities and hinted at by available information include:
- Lot Rentals: The primary service is the provision of spaces for residents to place their mobile or manufactured homes. A listing for a home in the park indicates a "Space Rent: $950," which covers the cost of leasing the land.
- Community Laundry Room: A specific listing for a home within the park mentions, "Park has a community Laundry Room for its residents." This suggests that shared laundry facilities are available on-site for convenience.
- Utility Hookups: Mobile home parks typically provide the necessary infrastructure for individual homes to connect to essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity. Information indicates that water is a "Community" utility, while other utilities might be individually metered.
- All-Ages Community: Chet's Trailer Park is identified as an "all-ages community," meaning it accommodates residents of all ages, including families. This is a service feature distinguishing it from 55+ communities.
- Management Oversight: A management team is generally responsible for the day-to-day operations of the park, including enforcing community rules and maintaining common areas. While resident reviews can be critical, the ongoing existence and occupancy of the park imply some level of operational management.
- Basic Infrastructure Maintenance: This includes the upkeep of internal roads, lighting, and general landscaping within the common areas of the park. While one review mentions "lack of air between trailer spaces," implying density, the overall maintenance is not explicitly detailed but is generally a part of park services.
It is important for prospective residents to directly inquire about the current condition and availability of these services, especially given the contrasting nature of some reviews.
The features and highlights of Chet's Trailer Park, as reflected in various comments, offer a mixed but informative picture for prospective residents.
- All-Ages Community: A significant highlight is that it's an "all-ages community." This means it's suitable for individuals, couples, and families, offering a diverse living environment.
- Historical Significance: For some, the park represents a piece of Los Angeles's past. One review fondly refers to it as "One of the few 'Trailer courts' left in Los Angeles," touching upon its "humble beginning" and the nomadic life that such communities historically offered. This might appeal to those interested in living history or a less conventional path.
- "Community Laundry Room": The presence of an on-site laundry facility is a practical convenience, allowing residents to do laundry without leaving the park.
- Proximity to Essential Amenities: As noted in the location section, its closeness to "several freeways and supermarkets" is a strong highlight, ensuring daily conveniences and connectivity for residents. This is consistently praised as "convenient location."
- Potential for Affordable Living: With a listed "Space Rent: $950" for a specific unit, Chet's Trailer Park, like many mobile home parks, potentially offers a more affordable housing option compared to traditional real estate rentals or purchases in Los Angeles County, especially in the South Bay. This affordability can be a significant draw for locals.
- "California Room" Potential: One listing mentions a "Nice starter home in a all-ages community! Home features an an enclosed 8' x 14' (California room) that can be used for storage or a patio." This indicates that some homes or lots may offer additional enclosed living or storage space, which is a valuable feature for residents.
It is important to acknowledge, however, that some reviews describe the park as "doesn't look good from the street," "pretty sketchy," "ran down," "smells," "sounds," and with a "lack of air between trailer spaces," suggesting a dense and visually unappealing environment. Another refers to it as "the place where dreams come to die," and advises to "Keep driving, it's not worth selling your soul for a place to park your project trailer. No overnight no pull through No service." These critical perspectives highlight significant concerns regarding the park's aesthetic, living conditions, and the potential lack of certain services like "pull through" spaces for larger RVs or project trailers. Prospective residents should consider these contrasting views when evaluating the park.
For those considering Chet's Trailer Park and wishing to inquire further about available spaces, current rental rates, or to verify the current conditions and policies, direct contact with the park management is the recommended approach.

For locals in California, particularly those navigating the highly competitive and costly housing market of Los Angeles County, Chet's Trailer Park in Hawthorne presents itself as a consideration, albeit one that requires a thorough understanding of its realities. Its suitability hinges on prioritizing certain factors while acknowledging the challenges highlighted by some residents.
Firstly, affordability is a key driver for many Californians, and mobile home parks like Chet's often represent a more accessible price point compared to traditional housing in the L.A. metropolitan area. With reported space rents around $950, it positions itself as a potentially budget-friendly option for those seeking a permanent residence without the prohibitive costs associated with conventional rentals or homeownership in the South Bay. This financial accessibility can be a compelling factor for locals seeking to remain within the region.
Secondly, the park's location offers undeniable logistical advantages. Being "close to several freeways and supermarkets" ensures that daily commutes, errands, and access to the vast opportunities of Los Angeles are convenient. For locals, this means less time spent in traffic and more time for work, family, and leisure, which is a crucial aspect of quality of life in Southern California. The presence of public transit options further enhances its accessibility for those who prefer not to drive.
Furthermore, as an "all-ages community," Chet's Trailer Park can accommodate diverse households, from individuals to families. This inclusivity provides a broader appeal for locals looking for a community that is not age-restricted. The presence of a "community Laundry Room" also offers a practical on-site amenity.
However, it is paramount for locals to consider the candid feedback regarding the park's "sketchy" appearance, perceived "dirtiness," high density, and the general "ran down" feeling reported by some. These critical observations suggest that while financially accessible and geographically convenient, the living environment might require a willingness to overlook aesthetic or infrastructural shortcomings. For individuals or families on a very tight budget who prioritize location and basic shelter, and are prepared for a "humble beginning" or an unconventional lifestyle as described in some reviews, Chet's Trailer Park could serve as a viable option. For others seeking a more pristine or amenity-rich environment, it may not align with their expectations. Therefore, direct investigation and a realistic assessment of personal needs versus the park's current conditions are essential for any local considering Chet's Trailer Park.

Chet's Trailer Park Reviews
I don't live here, but it doesn't look good from the street. Pretty sketchy. It's right next to Grad's Trailer Park which looks even worse.
Apr 10, 2024 · J LLast chance before the Twilight Zone. One of the few "Trailer courts" left in Los Angeles. In fact I was brought home from Daniel Freeman Hospital to a tiny trailer near Randy's Donuts in Inglewood. So I'm not too proud to say, this is where I'm from. Humble beginning to humble end. The adventure this nomadic life offered my parents and many more like them is experiencing an restoration. A freedom we can't buy and as we discovered here in America, you can't go back again.I have been dreaming of Glamper for years, at last I have my project trailer. 1972 Caveman 15 feet long 13 feet interior. I could not find anyplace to store it while I worked on the restoration. This 4 week project turned into six months of dispair. So I looked everywhere, high and low. Then I found Chet's. The place where dreams come to die. If you could get a space there, I'll bet you'd be living a #bladerunner style life. The smells, the sounds, the lack of air between trailer spaces feel more like cells than houses. Keep driving,it's not worth selling your soul for a place to park your project trailer. No overnight no pull throughNo service.
