If you're an RV enthusiast seeking a convenient and practical stopover or a place for a longer stay, you've likely considered the various RV parks across the region. Today, we're taking a closer look at Cedar Trail RV Park, situated in Fort Mitchell, Alabama. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview to help you decide if it's the right fit for your next adventure.
Cedar Trail RV Park offers a straightforward solution for RVers needing a spot to park and settle in. As an RV park, its primary function is to provide essential hookups and a designated space for your recreational vehicle. While it may not boast the extensive amenities of a luxury resort, its appeal lies in its practicality and accessibility for travelers passing through or those looking for a temporary base in the Fort Mitchell area.
Cedar Trail RV Park is conveniently located at 966 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856, USA. This position along AL-165 makes it easily accessible for those traveling on this state route. Fort Mitchell itself is situated in Russell County, southeastern Alabama, placing it within reasonable driving distance of larger cities like Columbus, Georgia, just across the Chattahoochee River, and Auburn, Alabama, to the west. Its proximity to major roadways generally ensures a relatively smooth journey for arrivals and departures.
When considering accessibility, it's worth noting that the park's location, while convenient for travel, may experience some ambient noise due to its vicinity to AL-165. Travelers who prioritize quiet seclusion might want to factor this into their decision. However, for those seeking easy access to transport routes and local points of interest, its location is a clear advantage.
- On-site laundry facilities: Cedar Trail RV Park provides laundry machines for guests, with current rates of $1.50 per wash and $1.00 per dry. This amenity is a significant convenience for both short-term and long-term campers, allowing them to refresh their wardrobe without leaving the park.
- Electrical hookups: The park features relatively new power poles, indicating a reliable electrical supply for RVs, which is fundamental for comfortable living on the road.

For Alabamians and those traveling through our great state, Cedar Trail RV Park presents itself as a practical and accessible option for RV accommodation. While it may not fit the mold of a full-service resort with extensive recreational amenities like pools, walking trails, or communal gathering spaces, it fulfills the core requirements of an RV park: a place to park, power, water, and dispose of waste.
Its suitability for locals largely hinges on their specific needs and expectations. If you’re an Alabama resident looking for a no-frills, cost-effective base for a few nights or even a week while visiting family or exploring the Fort Mitchell area, Cedar Trail RV Park could be a pragmatic choice. The weekly rates, in particular, offer a good value proposition for extended stays. The on-site laundry facilities are a notable convenience that can significantly enhance comfort during longer trips.
It's important for potential guests to manage their expectations regarding amenities. As some past visitors have noted, the park focuses more on essential services rather than resort-style luxuries. This means you won't find picnic tables, fire rings, or dedicated entertainment options. The environment is more geared towards a functional stopover. However, the owners have reportedly just acquired the park, which often signals a period of potential improvements and enhancements. This could mean a more refined experience in the future, as new management often brings fresh perspectives and investment.
Considering the proximity to AL-165, the park’s location offers easy access for travelers. While there might be some ambient noise from the road, air traffic, or nearby industrial activity, this is often a trade-off for such convenient positioning. For locals who are accustomed to some level of background noise from everyday life, this might not be a significant deterrent.
In summary, Cedar Trail RV Park in Fort Mitchell, Alabama, stands as a straightforward and practical choice for RVers. Its strong points include convenient location, essential hookups, on-site laundry, and potentially competitive weekly rates. For Alabamians seeking a functional, accessible, and potentially improving RV park experience, it’s certainly worth considering for your next local adventure.

Cedar Trail RV Park Reviews
Worst place we have stayed all year!First the good. Owner was nice. They have laundry onsite $1.5 a wash $1 to dry. The power poles were new and done right.Weekly rate was pretty good, of you stay that long. Now the bad. The online nightly rate says $40, but he charged me $45. The road noise is bad. There is some light industrial noise and air traffic. Train was pretty loud at night. Sites were so close together we could hear our neighbors as well. With all of that, this is one of the loudest places in America we have stayed at. $45 a night is resort prices, yet there was no picnic tables, no fire rings, no book/DVD library, no wifi, no pool, no walking trails and the place is covered in weeds/stickers.We planned to stay a week and at that rate it is fair, but it was so bad we took the highway robbery option and stayed overnight. Owners just bought it, so maybe they will improve the place going forward. I am not of the opinion that you charge resort prices without providing the amenities. The sites were made with crushed gravel and it was not very flat either.I called before our arrival, but didn't reserve. When we arrived I was a little surprised to not find an office. Apparently they own the park down the street as well, so we had to wait around for them to come up. We are ok with that because we have patience and it let us look around first. Just thought I would mention it because some travelers might want to know.I will put up a picture of our map so other travelers can see, we have traveled extensively and know about good camp sites, which this is definitely not.
Dec 01, 2022 · Chris BloomfieldAt first things seemed ok for my husband and I for a few days and the spots were spacious. After we parked we noticed the camp was not well maintained. Reeked of dog poop. I was informed that the long term camper next to us had drugs going in and out of it. I’m glad we got out of there. I wouldn’t recommend this rv park.
Feb 24, 2025 · Laura LaneVery quiet lowkey Campground. Onsite laundry which is kept extremely clean. Owners are very responsive and accommodating and the caretaker staff are very passionate about their work. 5 minutes from the back gate at Benning (24 hr access gate). Great experience overall with a 3 months stay while at Fort Benning.
May 04, 2023 · Nick DurostNo poop trash cans. Had to walk around with a bag of dog poop untill back at camper.
May 06, 2025 · Carrie TrowbridgeBeautiful park in great location. Many large trees provide a great setting and shade. Park has a laundry facility and I'm told internet and a dog park will be in shortly. Management was great and easy to work with. Park is well maintained and safe for family.
